Dianna was relieved that she got the books of her hands. She gladly got out her purse and counted 15 galleons and 2 sickles before handing it over to the guy. "Here you go."

"Oh, I love to read." Dante said to the shopkeeper. "I need to stock up before I go to Hogwarts. There won't be many chances to buy books there - but I'm told there's a big library, so that's good too." Dante pulled out an overfilled leather moneybag and counted out the money. It took some time. "I tend to finish books fast, so I bought the second year and other books too." He handed the money to the shopkeeper.

"Oh thank you so much!" Osiris said as she reached into her bag for the money, counted the 17 galleons and 6 sickles and placed them on the counter. "Oh, and whenever I get a recomendation for a book I give one in return, for you I think you would enjoy 'Tracking the beginnings of Transfiguration' by Mercedes Gladstone, thanks!" Osiris grabbed the pile of books and she happily walked out the store.

The shopkeeper accepted the money, and slid the bag of books towards Dianna. "Thank you." He dropped the money into the till and looked back up with a smile. "Have a great day."

As the boy explained the large volume of books, Brett slowly nodded. Well, it was definitely great to see someone who enjoyed reading so much. He must be quite the intelligent boy. "A very large library; I"m sure you'll enjoy the selection."

He waited patiently as Dante counted the money. "Well, you'll definitely be prepared, and ahead of the curve on your classmates. Good luck." He tapped each bag with his wand, lightning the load significantly, and then loaded those bags into a larger bag. The bag was bulging by the time he finished, but all books were held.

"Hope it isn't too heavy." He said with an apologetic grin.

"You're welcome." Brett replied as he accepted the money and slid the books towards Osiris. "Oh..thank you very much for the recommendation. I'll definitely check it out." He promised with a wink and a wave.

Helen walks into Flourish and Blotts. She's heard from other people they have the most authentic books and you know Helen - she's a reading machine! She went towards the counter and said "Excuse me, could I buy: The Daily Prophet, Teen Witch Weekly and a blue diary - How much is it?" Helen was still confused with all this galleons and sickles money so got some money out in advance to avoid making a queue.

Goodness, it was crowded! Before even stepping in, Ari could hear the commotion inside the shop. Lucky for her she didn't need to spend a long time in Flourish and Blotts.

The girl had very short brown-reddish hair that stuck out like feathers, and a pale face made to look paler by the black, round sunglasses that were pushed up against her eyes so they were completely hidden. Slung over her side was a beige shoulder bag, mostly empty right now, and in her right hand she carried her wand, which was pointed at the ground, occasionally twitching up or to the side.

Compulsively touching her left hand to her glasses, she always felt bad about going straight to the counter; Since some people didn't have the sense to go find what they were looking for, and instead made the shopkeeper do it.

Beth smiled at the shopkeeper.
"Thankyou, and yes that's all," she replied as she picked 15 galleons out of her purse and handed them over the counter.
"I hope, I'll see you again when I come for more books next year," she said as she retrieved her purchase from the counter and turned to leave.

Miranda smiled back as she placed 15 galleons on the desk. "Have a nice day," she said before walking out of the shop.

Brett put down the newspaper that he was reading as another customer approached the counter. "Sure thing. I'll be 2 galleons and 16 sickles, please."

He caught sight of a very familiar person as she walked up to the counter and he leaned forward on his elbows. "Hey there, what will you be needing?" He didn't remember what year she was in, but he had an inkling. He had a feeling that she would have visited the bookshop; she had been coming for some time to purchase her school books.

Accepting the money, Brett smiled. "Oh I believe that you will. Have a great day." He bid her as he waved goodbye.

Violet picked out Hogwarts: A History by Chroniculus Punnet, A History of Magic by Bathilda Bagshot, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander, The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection by Quentin Tremble, How Not To Blow Off Your Fingers On The First Day by Julius Gummidge, A Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration by Emeric Switch, Quidditch Through the Ages by Kennilworthy Whisp, Goshawk's Guide to Herbology by Miranda Goshawk, The Standard Book of Spells Grade 1 by Miranda Goshawk, Hilary Stargazer's Guide to the Galaxy by Hilary Stargazer bringing them up to the counter. She placed them down almost dropping them and said lightly,"Hello I'd like to purchase these please." Violet smiled sweetly getting. She reached into her bag to pull out her money so she'd be ready to pay immediately.

Ari smiled immediately after he spoke, "Hello, Mister Carlen, good morning. I need my final set of books for my seventh year, and as per usual, I need them in braille." She already had lowered her left hand into the bag, finding the pockets that sorted out her money, and began counting the galleons in advance, in order to spare the shopkeeper some time on this very busy day.

Brett placed his quill on top of the counter, picked up the stack of books and placed them carefully into a bag. He had just finished writing a list of books that needed restocking.

"It'll be 15 galleons, please." He requested as he slid the bag towards her.

So he had been right. He had figured it was either sixth or seventh year she would have been in. "I knew you would be in." He answered as he bent down and checked underneath the counter. He had taken the liberty of taking a set of both sixth and seventh year books in Braille and placing them at the counter.

Finding the seventh year books, he straightened up and placed them on the counter, and then into a bag. "15 galleons, if that's all you'll be needing. Looking forward to your last year?"

She laughed, "Wow, you remember me better than I thought. With so many customers, I'm flattered you recollect me so well." She counted out fifteen in her fingers and slipped in her customary two galleons extra, passing them across the counter. "Yes and no, I suppose. I'm looking forward to...Well... No, no I'm not," she laughed. "I'll be sad to go. It also means that it's likely we will never meet again," Ari shook her head sadly.

Lifting the bag off the counter, she sighed. "Goodbye, Mister Carlen. Thanks for all your help."

After a moment of looking through the shelves, Jenny finally arrived at the counter. Hm, she should stay much longer, but...she didn't want her brother to assume she was buying too many books again. Steve became extremely mad last year when she bought the whole set of first-year books; he scolded her that she should have borrowed his books. Pfft, his books were so old anyway...

"Hello?" Jenny asked nervously as she placed The Art of Potion Making, A Changing Subject: Transfiguration Basics, and The Standard Book of Spells Grade 2 on the counter. Those books were heavy; imagine if she had to carry the whole set like last year. "Can I get these books and a customizable journal, please?" Yes, Jenny will finally get her own journal, too; she didn't want to use her mother's journal like last year. Her mother needed it more than Jenny herself.

Brett smiled at the sound of her surprise. "You'd be difficult to forget. You're one of my only customers who requests books in Braille." He explained. "Ah, I doubt that. You can always come back for a visit, unless you're planning to move out of the area." It was a statement, but his voice trailed off in a question.

Sliding the money towards him, Brett looked back up as Ariana bid her goodbye. "No problem at all. Have a great day and a great school year."

As the next customer stepped up, Brett smiled in greeting, glancing at the titles of the books as he did so. "Sure...what color journal and what would you like written on it?" He inquired as he began to calculate the cost of her purchase.

"Thanks too." Di smiled as she left the shop with her purchase. She'll definitely have a great day.

Osiris walked towards the counter for the second time that day, this time carrying a tiny neon yellow cat with a long black tail that she had just adopted. She had found Felda Flybottom's Field Guide To Felines which the clerk at the menagerie had suggested would help her learn more about her tiny color-changing cat, which had now turned from neon yellow to bright green as they approached the counter...

"Um..." Jenny pondered as she looked at the shopkeeper calculating something. Ugh, arithmetic was so confusing; the numbers 2 and 7 still scare her to this day. "Dark blue and just my name, Jenny Takahashi, on it." Jenny nodded; just plain and simple, that's all.

Should she ask him to write her name in Japanese or some other language? Nah, that would be too much...

Flashing a smile of greeting at the next customer, Brett slipped off of his stool and leaned across the counter. He curiously glanced at the small cat before speaking. "What can I do for you?" His voice trailed off as he glanced at the cat again. Wasn't it just yellow?

Tearing off a piece of parchment from a pad, Brett jotted down the information and the handed a copy to Jenny. "3 days to customize and you can either come by to pick it up or we can deliver it." He offered. "And it'll be 5 galleons and 12 sickles."

Noticing the look the clerk had given tiny Kit, Osiris smiled at the clerk and said "Oh, yes she changes colors, I am still trying to figure out how it all works. That is where you can help me, I need to buy this book..." and placed Felda Flybottom's Field Guide To Felines on the counter. "Kit here actually helped me get it from the very top shelf, she uses her long tail to grab things and I can't wait to read and see more about what she can do" As Osiris said this the tiny cat leapt onto the counter, and with its tail reached for a quill lying next to what looked like a list of books while changing from the green color to a warm golden brown, its tail black as always.

Joey Piled up her books and waited for to be waited on.

Alice took her spot in line, making sure everyone before her had been waited on before approaching the counter and setting her three books (The Art of Potion Making by S. Snape, A Changing Subject: Transfiguration Basics by Dawnie Iris, and The Standard Book of Spells Grade 2 by Miranda Goshawk) on top of it.

"Hello, how are you today?" Alice asked the shopkeeper warmly.

Brett glanced at the cat again and then down at the book. "Well...I certainly hope Mrs. Flybottom can help you with that." He didn't think he had ever seen a cat that changed colors...unless it had a color changing transfiguration charm placed upon it.

He drew back slightly as the creature suddenly leaped onto the counter and snatched a nearby quill with its tail. He cracked a smile. "Do you think I could have my quill back?" He inquired, looking at the cat.

"Hey there." Brett greeted the next customer, glancing at the books on the counter. "Joey Starr and a rose? Is that Starr with one r or two r's?" He inquired as he pulled out a customization form.

"3 galleons and 26 sickles will be your total." He added.

"Hey there." Brett greeted the girl. "I'm great, just very busy, of course." His gaze swept the shop, a wry smile playing upon his lips. "And yourself? Is that all you'll be needing?"

"I imagine it is always rather busy in here?" Alice loved books and she imagined running this shop was much like running her library at home.
