No one really introduce this to me... In fact i was the one who introduced Harry Potter to my friends...

The truth is: I went to the library on my Sophomore Years in High School and i went to the new arrival books... I got so curious when i saw PS/SS. Because of the boy flying riding a broomstick... So i borrowed it read it, and fell in love with it... And since then became a fan...

Oh wow... it must have been about five years ago or so. I remember the teacher telling the class about this 'exciting book' about 'a boy who is a wizard' and like all eleven year olds... went straight to sleep. Really, I couldn't be bothered about reading what looked like a boring book with a boring cover. So I was rather suprised- and very confused- when a then-friend came up to me, pointed and said- "Ginny, you Hufflepuff!" I demanded to know what she was on about, and she told me about this book she had been reading.

Somehow, it all seemed so much more interesting when someone who I got on well with and was my age explained it to me. So I set about reading the book which she lent me, 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets' and found it quite likeable. I decided to read the first book, which also, was interesting to say the least. A few weeks later, I found 'Azkaban' in Tesco's and that's where my Pottermania truely took root.

All that from a friend-no-longer-but-still-nice-person pointing at me and going- "Ginny, you Hufflepuff!"

Actually, I swore to myself never to pick up a Harry Potter book. I refused to let myself get dragged into a temporary craze, having already been snared twice in succession by Pokemon and Animorphs (for that was the time the two hit the market.) I was doing very well with this, until the day my brother left Chamber of Secrets lying around the house. I wasn't hooked until I finished the book, though, when I developed an addict-like craving for "well, what happens next"?

Azkaban is by far my favorite. I own it in an different language just so I would learn that language.

Well my teacher once asked my friend in class wether he'd finished reading the harry potter books. The same day I heard one other of my friends talking about the book t another friend of hers. So I decided that i should atleast find out what is in the book. So that's when my craze for books to began.

How many of you out there have parents who have read the books? I keep asking my parents to read the books, but they simply refuse to do so! I mean comeon! If you can read Sydney sheldon and robert ludlum, you can also try out harry potter....

My parents got it for me for christmas. I got these two books, I can't remember what the other one was. And I remember thinking, 'God, a book about witches and wizards and stuff? That looks so stupid.' So I left it for a while. Then when I read I absolutely loved it!! But I still had to wait for CoS to come out before I could read the next one.

Yeah, my mum's read them. I'm pretty sure she liked them.. Well you'd think so cos she's read them all so far.. hehe. And I think my dad has read the first one...

my parents actually got the books for my elder bro but he didn;t even touch them becoz he hates to read =P then i saw the first movie and couldn't figure out head or tail of wot was going on (i thot snape was voldermort and harry was ron =P) so i made the resolution that i wud start reading the books but the starting of the books is different from the strting of the movie so i thot that i had got the wrong book or something so i left them.and then i went and asked my friend who,at that tike had alredy finished reading almost all the books and she said that i had the correct book so then i started reading the first book and loved it! and i kept on reading and became the big HP fan that i am now =D

My old best friend lauren introduced me to Harry Potter years before the film came out but i never took any real interest in it until i began to read a bit more. Then the film came out and though everyone encouraged me i didnt watch it. Then it came out on dvd and i was forced by my mum to watch it....that sorta turned the tables. Next day i finished book one =P

Hmm... first my teacher started reading it to us in grade 6 I think. And I just thought, "This is stupid. Look at the cover, it's probably about some guy whose family don't like him, so he goes and becomes an inventor and invents that train." Because a story about someone inventing a train would be just the sort of thing that teacher would have found interesting. o_0
Anyway, when she got to the part with the magic, she stopped, because she thought that was stupid, so I never knew that it wasn't just that boring.
Then around New Year's of 2000, we were staying in this little place in the middle of the mountains, with nothing to do but bushwalking for miles, so I finally let boredom get the best of me, and actually listened to my mother and sister, who had been telling me to read them for ages. (I never read anything back then). And yeah... that's my extremely exciting story.

It was Christmas time. My classmates kept talking about this guy called Harry Pottery and it sounded quite boring. But I wanted the first book from Santa Claus thanks to this one girl from my class whos name is Kelly.
Thank you Kelly for letting me know who is Harry Potter!

Creepygen Person I don't know

Well, in 2000, before the release of Goblet of Fire, my 11th grade english teacher assigned Sorcerer's Stone for us to read, do a written report and take a reading comprehension test on it. And since I don't like to read, I though, "oh great, here is another boring book to read". But once I started reading it, i got hooked. By the way, I got a B in that test. But i'm sure that if she gives me that test right now I would definetly get an A plus.

I didn't get why...at that time I was completely against all Fantasy books...but I read Harry Potter so I could honestly say I hated it....I sure showed them didn't I? LOL

My Granmother got me the first one and after that I read the others. I was 12 at the time and I am now 19. That fact alone is scary.
