My friend in year 2 or 3. We went to the school library together to borrow the books, but they only had Philosopher's Stone and Chamber of Secrets available. I chose to borrow Philosopher's Stone because it was shorter; I had no idea it was the first in the series! I didn't read any till a couple of years after.
Then I moved schools in year 4 and made a friend who was a huge fan and lent me her books. We'd spend lunchtimes quizzing each other, asking people what the difference between Cornelius Fudge and treacle tart and laughing when people didn't know and telling people they had dirt on their nose. Fun times

My younger brother's friend left the first two books at my mom's house. I saw them and read them both before she came to get them.

Not a matter of who introduced me, but what introduced me. It was actually Twilight... *Shakes head in shame.*

Funny enough, my third-grade teacher who I was terrified of started reading it to us in class. Her pace was too slow though--I got it myself and finished it much quicker, and have been in love with the world ever since :]

My daughter introduced me...yes. I worked at a dep. store and when DH came out, a coworker kept telling me that if someone called and asked if we had it, to say "Yes..and Snape killed Dumbledore." I had no idea what he was talking about,but was a little intrigued. When school started that year, my daughter brought the book home, one of my days off I started reading it.. and loved it.

Do Audio Books Count? Cause my wife going crazy while the movies played made me want to find out the rest of the story.

Either my Grandmother or my Mother. I remember seeing the first movie and than being in love with the series ever since.

I'd actually say my brother did! I think it was HP1 he gave it to me in '99 when i was 6 and he was 9 he obviously knew i couldn't read it that well so he just read it and one day i caught him reading it so i snatched it off he just said "Give it Back and it's a greatbook!"
Now i remember fighting over DH!

When I was little, my dad read the Philosephers Stone to me at bedtimes, but I got scared and told him to stop reading. In year four, I didn't know anything about it and we had to do a piece of work on it and I put that Harry caught the Quidditch in a game of Snitch, not knowing it to be wrong until it was on the wall, and found a bunch of popular girls looking at it and laughing. I saw the films and didn't think much of them until year six when my friend Charlotte was reading them, I had finished all of my other books and remember crying that I had nothing to read, I had a huge argument with my dad until he told me to read Harry Potter. I read the first one in a night and was accused of skipping my my friend Matthew, then the next night I read the Chamber of Secrets and carried on until I had finished the books before my friend Charlotte who began to read them a week before me!

My mom, but now I'm a bigger fan than she is!

A couple of friends; the were OBSESSED, and so I realised they must be pretty awesome books, and then a few months later I got OBSESSED too, even more than them Thank you Louisa and Adele

^ Her. Abbi. George. Her. Talking about it all the time in maths, telling me the plot. I knew everything that was going to happen. -___- I wish I hadn't, now... Took away the surprise.
