My younger sister asked me to read Philosophers stone to her so that she could do a report on it. I got so interested in it that I went and bought ALL of the books for myself...Ive been obsessed ever since.

My cousin did. I found it on his bookshelf one time when I was over. It was for his b-day or something like that. Anyway, he said it was okay, but he wouldn't read the rest of the series. So I asked if I could borrow it, and before I knew it I was completely hooked. He still doesn't understand why.

I heard about it in the news when all the comotion was happening with all these people banning it because of the whole idea of witchcraft/wizardry. I wanted to see why everyone was making such a big deal of it so I read it and loved it instantly.

Well in 1999 my teacher read the first book to the class and I thought it was interesting so my grandma bought me the first book and then it all started. I Fell in love with the books. I read the books over and over again after I read them the first time. Then I started to go on the and then found other sites. I think it was the fifth grade when I started... I am a sophmore now.

My sister started my addiction to Harry Potter, though it didn't really spark until I saw the first movie. She read me a part of the second book at my grandmother's table while we were eating dinner, and I wondered what it was. Then she started explaining about Fawkes and the Sorting Hat. It wasn't 'til later that year I took up the first Harry Potter book, but I couldn't get what it said. Then I saw the first movie, knew the main plot, and I became a Harry Potter Fanatic.

A friend of mine told me that I would really enjoy them and I watched the first two movies to see if I would like them because I know the pack was really expensive to buy and I wanted to make sure I would, and obviously I *love* them. That was a little over a year ago.

My grandmother introduced me to the books in the summer of 1999. I read the first chapter of Sorcerer's Stone and thought it was boring, so I put the book down. A few weeks later I decided to give it another shot and I was hooked!

My hairstylist said she was going to see the 1st HP when it came out. I was like "You're kidding right? What's so great about Harry Potter?" I was curious tho, so I went online and downloaded the ebooks for free somewhere, read each book in one week. I was hooked. Those books are simple to understand but when you think about it, there's so much more to understand, it's become a research project as well as an enjoyable read. I've reread it and I still can't quite take it all in. I'm gonna have to read some more

No-one. I decided to read one cause I had heard some vague rumours about them and had the impression they where popular. There was three books already translated and I think also GoF was out but not yet translated. -- I was totally hooked after PoA and can't wait for HBP to come...

I was bored on holiday so my sis gave me OotP to read. There was a big craze in my school as well, but i just don't like getting involved with stuff just coz everyone else is, so i left it.

Me Grandma got it from my third cousins in Minnisota, and she read it to me. So indirectly it was the cousins I don't know who influenced my love of the books.

she was reading GoF.
I was very annoyed at first cos she doesnt talk much.
Then one day, I sort of stole the book when she went to the loo.
