I couldn't stop smiling for like five minutes straight. I could've been born with a permanent smile and you wouldn't doubt it. I felt like crying, laughing my head off, and not moving a muscle until it had really sunk in, all at the same time.

Quick question: When Snape reveals his patronus, and says,"Always." I completely thought he was saying he'd always love Lily, not that he cared for Harry. Is that incorrect? Anyway:

I still feel like sobbing and permanently smiling when I think that it's really....REALLY...over. Wow.

I actually just sat there for about ten minutes straight. I didn't want to cry and I wasn't going to laugh either. I just sat there sort of numb. I didn't want anyone to talk to me. My mum asked me how the book was and I gave her a breif on it and then I went back to staring into space.

When I finished it the second time though I couldn't stop crying. I kept crying for Tonks and Lupin and Ted (both of them) and Dobby and Kreacher and Snape and Dumbledore and everyone really.

A little shocked. The epilogue wasn't at all what I expected, plus it's the weirdest feeling knowing that there aren't any more books. It's always been, "Oh, our questions will be answered in the next book!" But now? Nope. I'm also torn between loving and hating the book...there were parts I adored, and parts that make me want to ask Jo, "What were you thinking?!"

Hope is the only thing stronger than fear.

I went and handed the book to my mom and bit my tounge so hard it was about to bleed.I went to my room and screamed because i was about Harry being a Hocrux and the fact that R.A.B was sirius's brother. Then i was like whoa Hermione and ron and Tonks and Lupin.I shead a few tears because of Fred and the Happy ending. Now i just feel empty because there wont be another book.

Couldn't believe it had finally ended.
and Then I cried.
Cried like a baby........ for Fred, for Remus and Tonks...........

and most of all remembering Snape's love for Lily.
And I just choked when I read Harry's sons name,.... Albus Severus Potter ...... It was like a feeling of happiness and sadness mixed together, Harry telling his son that You were named after two headmasters at Hogwarts, and Severus was the bravest of people he'd seen.

i was on an airplain with my family... they knew i was in the last chapter and all watching me eagerly to see me finish and my plane was about to land.

i finished, i felt a sence of releif, i felt extremely depressed that it was over, i felt a little let down about the epologue

i was happy how she ended it, i love mysteries all solved in one great big showdown like harry vs. voldy

i loved the fact that he died/came back to life (it reminded me of bruce almighty )

all in all i was REALLY emotional. but i felt like i was completed and that i could die happy.

I just sat there in shock.. I had ran out of tears as I had been crying pretty much non-stop throughout the last few chapters..
I think I'm actually still in shock.. just the fact that it's all over, it's a weird feeling.
I think Joanne did the final book justice though..

The very last chapter gave some good laughs, but I guess emptiness is a proper word to describe how I feel right know.

Did someone mention Jo might still write something?

*hopes she´ll write an entire series about Severus*

Well, I just felt a little disappointed. Not because the book wasn't good or anything - to be honest, I liked it the best among all the seven. But then, it's kinda sad to see that it's ended and we won't have occasion to celebrate or wait with breaths held for the next book to come...
I'll wait for that one moment for as long as it takes...

There were highs and lows, parts where I wanted to scream praise but risked looking like a freak because I was reading it in public but overall I really liked it except for the ending, from where Harry "dies" and on. C'mon, he survies a SECOND killing curse? Please. But really, I liked most of the book. I wanted to throw Molly a party after she called Bella an alternate name for a female dog. I'm not a big Weasley fan but oh yeah! She FINALLY stands up for herself. There was a lot of crying done, especially at the deaths of Hedwig and Dobby and then Harry's loved ones coming back. This time is was Ron's turn for a Midol but I'm glad he finally removed his head from his rectum and got together with Hermione. And that's saying something since I really don't give two hoots about shipping. Harry's ego did bother me when it came to Ginny though. Crap weasles. You could be seconds from dying and you're denying yourself that what could rightly be final ounce of pleasure in life because the mission is just too big? Get over it kid. The lose of a twin can be devestating and I really wish it played more into the aftermath instead of jumping ahead 19 years to wizarding utopia.

This final book just solidified by dislike for Harry Potter as a character. I was never fond of the kid because he got a lot of credit where it wasn't deserved and this just put the cherry on that sundae. Voldemort was right when he said that Harry was only able to thwart him due to luck and magic that wasn't his own but, of course, sooper speshul Harry wouldn't admit to that. The kid just really bothers me, his whole attitude, his situation, everything. I just don't like him.

Well, I finished about 3 hours ago and it was really weird. I pretty much reread the last line a 2-3 times and then closed the book in silence. It was relieving, however, to have finished the book without having to be so impatient in wanting to know what happened next. But, after a while, it felt sort of empty, knowing the whole story is over and such.

Snape is my man!

After I finished reading the epilogue I just sat there looking at the last page. Then I turn it and saw the blank page on the other side and said to myself, "Wow, it's over." I closed the book and just stared at the cover. I felt kinda empty and sad. A bit disappointed by the epilogue as well. Then Sev came into my head and my eyes got all watery and I reread the part where Harry is talking to his son, Albus Severus. I started crying and didn't stop for a couple of minutes. The happiness about having finished the book didn't come to me until way later.

It felt weird for me, it felt empty. Their were so many questions that the epilogue could've answered - that last chapter should've been longer.

I felt numb when i finished. I couldn't (and still cant) get over the fact that that was the LAST BOOK and that there won't be any more. I guess when I accept that fact (probably the millionth time I re-read it) I'll start crying like a baby.

I'm sort of split down the middle between happy and sad. I'm sad that it's all over but I loved the book and now I can go back and read all seven of them together without feeling like there's something missing.

The very first emotion that hit me was numbness, and that lasted for about a day. Then denial set in... that lasted an hour or so, and then the tears started welling up, both because that was it and because of the Snape dying thing and the Snape still loving Lily thing and that Remus and Tonks were gone, leaving their son... And then the Harry naming one of his kids after both DD and Snape thing... and yeah. I think it’s safe to say I was a mess of a big garbled ball of emotions all at once. Scary haha... And now I kinda just feel like I lost a best friend... or a lot, cause it’s all over, but at the same time not... but yes, it is and =/

Funnily enough, my mom said “you look... kind of depressed...” after I had finished reading. Um, DUH! Made me laugh though...

i was in shock pretty much. i was sad, but satisfied with the ending. i also had the urge to go back and read the last book again. i'll probably have to read it again to soak everything in, since so much information was given.

I was in a state of shock, and then since I was crying anyway, I just cried myself to sleep and had wonderful world of Harry Potter dreams. Was all very sad though... The next morning I woke up and called my daughter and we sat on the phone and discussed the book for an hour.
