All I could say was "Holy %$*#, it's over.." I cried so hard after that. It was an excellent book and a great way to end the series.

You're right MusicalChick, Harry Potter will always be apart of our lives now. We basically grew up with him. As long as he's in our hearts, he'll never truely disappear.

Ultimate Potterite Original original

I cried, of course. Sobbed, more like... I knew that I was going to cry when I finished no matter what was written on the pages of the magical book. I knew I was going to sob. Why? Simply because it was the last first time to read a Harry Potter book. Simply because it was the end. Simply because it was amazing. Simply because I don't know what I'll do with the rest of my life now. Well, I guess this isn't so simple after all. I sobbed.

This book has become my favorite and now OotP holds a steady and respectable 2nd place. Wonderful. Oh fiddlesticks, I think I'm going to cry again.

I felt relived yet sad. It was very bittersweet. I couldn’t believe that it was done with! After all the waiting it was over in just a few hours time. All in all it was a good end to the whole series. Better than anything that I could have ever conjured up. Lol!

well all in all it was a great book but i thought it was a bit dissappointing because we didnt need a 759 paged book to tell us that ending. But I still loved i and of course was sad that the series is really over!

I felt so drained. It was a weird feeling, like all the air had been sucked out of me. I was happy, because of the whole Harry defeating Voldy thing, but I was so sad as well. It was very bittersweet.

There was the sadness of the deaths, and the ending. But then there was happiness. It ended on a good note: All is well.

I felt really really numb. I was glad that Harry survived, but it won't sink in, it's not over, it can't be over. I'm still numb.

It was a really weird feeling. I was shaking when I realized that it was over. I was sort of depressed...until now i still am a bit like it.

Uh... I didn't realize I had finished the book. lol. Everything I read about HP told me DH was 784 pages, so I was chugging along thinking I still had about twenty pages to go when I read the last line, which is so clearly the last line, and I was like... wtf. I would have savored that more! lol. And then I cried for half an hour straight. I'm still in a little bit of a daze. I'm relieved that I know everything, but I can't believe such an important decade of my life is just over.

Snuggy!

^ I think they meant it was 784 all together. Including the cover page and all the blank pages and the author's info. Very misleading!

Though the font seemed smaller than OotP or HBP, so I think we got more text than originally thought...

It's took me about 9 hours to read it cover to cover. I thought it was amazing. This is the best book I ever read and a wonderfully fitting ending to the magical Harry epic.

We've seen Harry grow from a boy to a man. It was a spectacular journey filled with soo much.

I laughed, was shocked and cried (happy and sad tears) and most of all was satisfied with how the saga turned out.

Way to go JKR!

When I finished reading it I was just like omg and I couldn't sleep I was soo worked up and sad and hyper and mourning the loss of a great book. But other than that I couldn't help feel that the last chapter was too cheesy with the whole he lived happily ever after bit.

I liked it and wanted to read it again, but now my wife has, so that won't happen for a bit. But now that the last book is over, I'll probaly sink into a depression over the next two weeks. But I still have two more movies to go to! YAY!

My first reaction after I finished the book was...

OMG! This book is AMAZING!

I never imagined I would like a book with violence in it. With so much of it. I expected DH to be my least favourite book of the Series, but it turned out to me the best. I just loved it.

I think I felt about every emotion possible...

Happy because I knew what happened and my fave didn't die, sad because it was over, angry because others high on my list of faves did, lost because there won't be anymore books....

Seriously. I was one big pile of emotions!

I think a good word to use is "wow". It was amazing. And at the same time, completely depressing. I still can't believe it's over. I just stared at my book. I still haven't put it on my bookself next to my other Potter books. I just can't. *cries some more*

I was laughing and crying at the same time. the last chapter which showed them nineteen years later was so funny, i couldn't help it. Then when i read the last words i just started crying, i couldn't believe it was over. it really still hasn't sunk in.

I was kind of empty...I was sad, relieved but mostly just sad...dunno I still feel like I didn't cope with all the deaths and that it really was the last Harry Potter book...
I'll miss the feeling of reading a new HP book and miss ever finding out new about my favourite characters and all...

The REAL Sorting Hat: "Ravenclaw!" This monkey is bananas.

I jumped up and down screaming my head off at 4:am in the morning shouiting "Go Harry!!" then I sat dow and disolved into hysterical tears. My mom ran into my room and was like, "Huh?" I showed her I was finished as I sobbed, she shook her head and laughed.

Right now I'm still in shock, so many things going through my mind I don't know what to do...

I cried over Fred...I like him better, dunno why...I would've done what Mrs. Weasley did...*head on Fred's chest*

I squeed over the R/Hrness!!! how cute!!! they kissed! THEY KISSED!

and, OHMYGAD! I had this hunch that Snape crushed on Lily, But I had no idea it was LOVE! he loved her from the start...I actually got a bit angry at Lily when she didnt forgive Snape over the whole 'Mudblood' thing..I mean, I'd get mad too, but this was my bestfriend! hello?!

I so loved the epilogue! Albus Severus... Ron and Hermione's kids' names also start with R and H!!!

and who is Victoire??? I was confused about that...James said Victoire was their cousin but not Ron and Hermione's kid...so...is Victoire Bill's or another Weasley's?

I wanted to know about Ted Tonks[Lupin's son]....and more about the Veil...but...whatever...

I loved it!

I felt let down and almost betrayed. The awful epilogue was cringeworthy and a cop-out.

JK said on a UK show a few weeks ago that in the struggle between good and evil, people die. So what does she do? Kill off new parents and a twin??????? PURLEASE!!!

I love Harry to bits, and Hermione and Ron, but surely one of them should have gone to the great train station in the sky? If the good v evil mantra is to be believed.............it should have been one of them............

I felt like I was floating, free of some cumbersome burden. I think it was because I held my breath for the last three chapters...
