Hogwarts RPG Name: Zacharias Montogio First Year | What made you want to read the series?
Hey I'm new here and I looked to see if this has already been done but I didn't see anything, so if it has I'm really sorry :/
However, what made you want to start reading the Harry potter series? Was it a friend/family member suggesting it? Or maybe you just saw it on a shelf and it looked interesting. Whatever made you do it I would love to hear your answers |

I think I've said this story before, but anyways - I was teaching at a day summer camp for younger kids, and the place didn't have much money. They did have a small library, which happened to have Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in it. The kids really wanted me to read it to them during story time, so I reluctantly agreed. I was never interested in the series, because I thought it was just some silly fantasy for children. However, after reading the first few chapters to them, I was immediately hooked. When I came in the next day, I was actually excited to continue reading more to them. However, a parent had called in and complained, because we were reading Satanic words to her child. She was threatening this and that, so the administrators, against their own opinions, had to make us stop reading to the class (they thought it would be unfair to just pull the one child out). We made the book available on the shelf to anyone else who wanted to continue with it. I was furious over the ignorance of treating the book as evil, and I wanted to find out what happens, so I got the series and read it myself. At that point, The Half-Blood Prince was coming out, and I raced through the first five books in about 1-2 weeks. I've been a fan ever since, and have re-read them all multiple times!

I started reading the books because I saw the first movie at the theaters and thought it was amazing! I had never heard about Harry Potter and thought the movie was gonna be totally lame, but it was simply amazing. Ever since that magical day 10 years ago, I've been addicted to Harry Potter.

Mom brought my little sister and me to this Harry Potter event at a mall when I was little. There were Harry Potter colouring books, lots of crayons, and a really nice short play. I still remember watching Harry Potter jump up and down the stage trying to catch a letter. It was great fun and my eyes grew wide when I saw the table where the first two books were displayed (I think 'Chamber of Secrets' was already out...but it could also have just been a poster or something...but anyway...). I'm not surely exactly when I got to read the first book. I think I was 10 or 11...but I got completely hooked when the first film came out. Loved it ever since!

Everyone around me loved the books, and I was always like 'no, I'm not going to read them because everyone is'. I think that was the dumbest thing I did, tbh. So I decided to read them recently and became instantly obsessed. The thing is, I wasn't the only one of my friends to read them now..
