We're all on SS because we love Harry Potter. But obviously, we love some characters more than others. Personally, I have very many favourite characters, I couldn't possibly name just one, and I think Rowling is a brilliant author. But I must say I hate two of the characters.

The first is Luna. Why? Because I'm a very practical, down-to-earth girl and in real life people who are the opposite, i.e. dreamy airheads (just like Luna) annoy me very much.

The other is Ginny. I think she's so plain, there's nothing special about her besides being Harry's girlfriend and then wife, and I just see her as an inferior copy of Lily Evans Potter.

That being said, I must add that they nevertheless help build the story, which needs all types of characters, and I acknowledge that, but I still can't like them.

So what about you? Do you have any characters which you dislike?

Umbridge! she is so annoying :| and yeah sometimes Ginny.

Umbridge & Lockhart. If those 2 got married, they'd make the most annoying couple in history.

I know Umbridge is so easy to dislike, but for me she was a fun character to read I thought I was the only one who hated Ginny

I have this strong dislike for Cedric Diggory

I hate hermione because she is very bossy and also quite an annoying character. She is quite a boring and pointless character in my opinion. Alothough I know the films would be quite plain without her.

I like the character just fine, it's the actor that I'm not crazy about...

I have to disagree with you, Hermione is a very important character in my opinion. And I can identify with her type of personality. But it's fair for all of us to have different beliefs.

I agree that she's important but that doesn't give the right to dislike or like her because of that fact. I really don't like Voldy (Don't we all?) he reminds me alot like Hitler in my opinion.

I don't hate any of the characters, but I find Ginny a little boring sometimes. I feel like they should have made her a little more exciting.

That's just my opinion...maybe there is a reason for making Ginny unexciting!

I agree that Ginny was a rather "meh" character. But I don't hate her. I reserve those feelings for Umbridge and the Dursleys.

Honestly, I wasn't a fan of Dobby or Winky, mostly because of the way Rowling made them speak. All I could hear was Jar-Jar Binks whenever they had dialogue, and it was really annoying. Don't get me wrong, I liked Dobby, he just really annoyed me.

I also think Hermione was the weakest of the trio. Even Harry and Ron disliked her for the first third of the book. Her logic was essential to their success, but her know-it-all attitude was tiring sometimes.

Lockhart is also one that I dislike. Not just because of his arrogance, but I just grew tired of his character being in so many scenes I guess. I suppose that was Rowling's intention.

Also, I was a little disappointed by Mad-Eye Moody. I think Crouch Jr. impersonating him was more interesting than Mad-Eye himself.

I really dislike Lucious, J.K. Rowling did an amazing job showing how awful some people can be: Lucious, Bellatrix, Voldemort. I like the way those characters are written, but I just hate them. Except for Bellatrix, I hate her, and I really like her

Also Lockhart, I had lots of fun reading about him, but I disliked his arrogance and all.
I like all of Joe's characters, I just don't like some of their personalities

Lockhart, Umbridge and Cho. Cho really annoys me.

I really hate Umbridge; I despise her the most. I also don't like Gilderoy Lockhart because he is so annoying, and full of himself. I hate how he thinks Harry is full of himself when he is not. I hate Draco's parents, because they're the ones forcing Draco to be evil-like. But he's not. I love how no one said they dislike Draco

who do I dislike? that is a tough question. We shall go chronologically:
Philosopher's Stone- the Dursleys (they are horrid)
Chamber of Secrets- Tom Riddle/ Lockhart (evil/ omg he was annoying)
Prisoner of Azkaban- Scabbers/ Peter Pettigrew (the worst kind of bad guy)
Order of the Phoenix- Dolores Umbridge ( cause she thinks her values are valid)
Half Blood Prince- Slughorn- (poeple's like that annoy me, its never kind to use others)
I have no dislikes in the final book.

Ginny - She is quite boring.
Bellatrix - In my opinion, she is the most evil character in the series aside from Voldemort. Also, she killed Sirius, and that is unforgivable in my book.
Cho Chang - So boring again. Why are Harry's girlfriends so boring?
Peter Pettigrew - He's just so despicable.
Umbridge - See Peter Pettigrew. Every time I read a passage with her in it, I wanted to reach inside the book and throttle her!
Cornelius Fudge - He was so useless and annoying, and in Order of the Phoenix where he is out to get Harry and Dumbledore. ARGH.

The Dursleys, Marge, and Umbridge.

Hmm...Luna could be an airhead sometimes, but she is an interesting character. She could believe different things than others, but there is nothing wrong with that. She could definitely be dreamy but comes to real senses whenever it comes to helping Harry Potter right? In my opinion, I believe that Luna taught us to be unique and to be yourself, who cares if people think you're wearing raddishes in your earings?

I have to disagree with you. Yes, Hermione could be bossy and could be annoying sometimes. But don't forget what the trio will be without her. She's got quite a brain that could fit a whole library and besides that, she's a caring and passionate character. Hermione loves her friends and everything she does is for the best of her friends, even it if is not allowing them to copy her homework, or refusing to let them get in trouble, or even telling professor McGonagall about the Firebolt. And remember the time in the Deathly Hallows when Ron left? Hermione stayed, no matter how much pain had stabbed her.

I do not hate any character, hate to me is just a powerful word and I dislike using it. There are some characters that I simply dislike, but not enought to hate.

God, I hate Cho - SUCH A... BUM!
Lockhart - Too vain for his own good.
Umbridge - Such a cow. She's despicible. Disgusting. A true git.
Pettigrew - He's just so annoying!
Ron - I just... He's just so angry all the time! He always gets annoyed with Harry for the slightest thing! It's just stupid!

Ginny <didn't mind her till she was Harry's GF. It was like HELLO? He is so much better with Cho and Ginny is so plain and too boring!

Bit controversial but Im really not much of a fan off Remus Lupin, I just find him beige.

Also cant bare Fudge and in the early days Fred and George grinded on me but I grew to like them in the end.
