Yes she is. I've always been a brilliant reader and used to read all the time but in the last few years I haven't read much at all... apart from the Harry Potter books over and over again!

JK isn't my favorite author, only because the only series she's written is HP so I wouldn't know how much I'd like her work outside this series. She is my favorite for foreshadowing, though. It's so interesting to see the detail she takes in putting in little clues into her story.

I think my favorite author is Philip Pullman, but JK is in the top 3.

R u crazy? JK is the best author ever, no competition, except maybe J.R.R. Tolkien and Emily Rodda (Deltora Quest) and Geoffrey McSkimming (Cairo Jim)

No; J.K. isn't my absolute favorite, but she comes in at second. I like too many authors; Stephen King, Nicholas Sparks, JKR(of course), Eoin Colfer(wrote Artemis Fowl; The Supernaturalist), D.J. MacHale(Pendragon, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, etc...), and Garth Nix(Abhorsen Trilogy, Keys to The Kingdom series, Shade's Children, The Ragwitch), Dean Koontz...and many more.

she's definitely one of my faves. i think i would be rather upset if she wasn't around. but there are others who are equally as good in what they do. for instance nicholas sparks is an amazing romance writer. i love his books. tolkein of course is another one. dan brown, mitch albom, and of course there are the writers who are responsible for all the classics such as a little princess, the secret garden, alice in wonderland etc.

YES but lately she is frustrating me. like in her head she thinks its sooo hilarious that so many websites are dedicated to the rumours of what goes on or waht might go on. it just is frustrating me now, and it didn't b4 because b4 they were predictable or the book didn't leave you hanging, as the last 2 have! woo. now i feel better.

it's sad that she's my favorite author all of a sudden...i used to worship roald dahl for his amazingly humorous stories! and i loved amelia atwater-rhodes for her vampire novels...who else? i used to read a lot of random novels. recently, my hp obsession has reached a level it's never been at before, thanks to ss (<3). so yeah, at the moment, she's my favorite, and i feel guilty about it, but i still worship her brilliance.

At first I thought JK was a pretty good writer, but now that I've read all the books and are starting to analyze them, I find her absolutely brilliant!

Ray Bradbury is my favorite author, I think. O'Henry is amazing too, as is Gabriel Garcia Marquez. But JK Rowling is definitely one of my favorites.

i adore her writing style but i started reading her books when i was 15(nearly 16) so by then i had many other favourite authors.
i like tony parsons, nick hornby, gabriel garcia marquez, AC Doyle, and in small doses, jrr tolkein and jane austen.
its surprising but jk is one of the few authors of whom ive read more than one book- of course the fact that hers is a septology where the story goes on(i cant stand an unfinished story) might have something to do with it but i rarely, if ever, repeat authors
only the ones ive mentioned above.
