Peter as Scabbers was Percy's pet rat first. Ron got Scabbers in his first year because Percy became head boy and got an owl as a gift.

Peter/Scabbers had been in Hogwarts. The wand was most likly hidden at the Weasleys house and was later taken to Hogwarts and hidden (possibily in the Room of Requirment).

Peter did not have the wand. If he did, he would have used it in PoA to save his hide. Also, since he was unable to revert to his human form for many years, he must have been transformed by someone else. He must have been disarmed when this happened or he would have had his own wand in PoA. LV must have had his wand but was unable to use it.

This is a great topic.So many possibilatys. Mabey Peter had it all along. Mabey LV had it but was unable to use it for some reason. I hope this to be cleared up in the last book.

I believe Peter was there that night in Godric's Hollow. I believe he was the one to recover the wand after the Potter's house blew up. I also believe Peter is the one that gave Voldemort's wand back to him.

Peter went into hiding for 12 years in his animagus form of a rat. Peter chose to stay in his rat form. An Animagus is a wizard or witch capable of turning into a particular animal and back at will. While in animal form, the witch or wizard have the abilities of the animal they have transformed into, while retaining the mentality of a human.

I don't believe Peter was unable to change into a man he just didn't want to. I don't think Peter regretted the fact that he betrayed the Potters or framed Sirius for the murder of 12 muggles and sent him to Azkaban for 12 years. Peter sold out two of his best friends without a thought because he thought he would be handsomly rewarded by Voldie. If he regretted his actions, I believe his magical ability could have been effected like Tonks was... but he only cares for his own well being.

Remenber the prophecy from PoA made by Trelawny??

After Wormtail was forced out of hiding he went out in search of Voldemort. While seeking his master, he kidnapped Bertha Jorkins, from whom Voldemort learned of Barty Crouch Jr. Using Wormtail's help, Voldemort created a rudimentary body, corporeal enough to perform magic with.

Another curious question is how did Wormtail come to be Percy's pet rat???

I've been asking questions about Peter in many threads and no one has deemed it significant enough to pursue. Thank you for considering this. The prophecy states that the servant was chained. I believe this means he was trapped in his rat form and not able to transfigure back to human form by himself. If my math is correct, Percy was about seven when the event at Godrics Hollow occurred. I think Mr. Weasley was involved in the clean-up of the deaths Sirius was blamed for. I think he somehow came across Peter and took him home as a pet for Percy. In PoA, when he was transfigured back to human from by Lupin and Sirius, he had clothes on, which would have given him somewhere to store a wand. I don't think he had it on him. If he did he would have been very tempted to use it to avoid going to prison. I don't think it was stored at Hogwarts, because he would not have risked going there to retrieve it knowing his secret was revealed. Since the battle in GoF took place in the Riddle grave yard, I think the wand was hidden in the Riddle house. The grounds keeper was killed with LVs wand, thus verifying the fact that the wand was there.

Voldemort had many followers, so it is very well possible that a Death Eater could have been there and gotten his wand and returned it to him later.

Probably another Death Eater picked it up.

Very interesting idea...it had to have been that someone came back and took the wand for safekeeping, just in case Voldemort did come back. But I don't really have much of an idea beyond that...just some vague wisps of imagination as to who it might have been.

I too think it was Peter, it has to be. I don't think Snape would have, for the simple reason, Lily was dead. He loved Lily and that's why he turned against Voldemort to begin with.

Or This may be what happened, it sounds likely enough.

Peter couldn't have kept it because he has been a rat for 13 years. And voldemort had his wand in the riddle house when he killed that old man. He had his wand then and he didn't even have a proper body. He must have still had it all along.

I don't think Peter or anyone else could have had his wand. Peter definitely wouldn't have risked going back to the Potter's house when it blew up. And he didn't have it on him in PoA when he transformed. I believe if he had actually took and kept the wand, Rowling would have written some dialogue that has Peter showing his allegiance because he saved Voldemort's wand.

So my two theories are:

1. It's just a loophole Rowling accidentally created. Instead of acknowledging it, she just started GoF with Voldemort having his wand back.

2. The far-fetched part of me created the thought that Voldemort had planned for the possibility of losing his body. He was so afraid of death that he went to great lengths to create horcruxes. It's also possible that he invoked some magic on his wand where if he were to lose his body, the wand would disappear and be hidden someplace safe (The Riddle House?) since he knew he'd be back for it someday.

My bet is on #1, but something like #2 is possible too, since this is a book about magic after all. Only Rowling could tell us for sure.

I would say that somewhere along the way one of his followers got his wand and held on to it.

Yes it was peter. Because at the end of GOF, Peter give him his wand back.
