In the HBP Ron said that Dumbledore was 140 give or take a few years [Around that age] but on a site it said he was 115 when he died.How old is He?

I don't know where they got that date from, but it's incorrect. Dumbledore was born in 1881.

Making him 114-115 when he died. Probably 114 turning 115 right before he died:

"Birthdate: 1881 (JKR), probably in July or August. This date supersedes Rowling's statement in 2001 that Dumbledore was "about 150 years old" (Blue Nose Day) and fits better with the dates that appear in Book 7. Regarding his month of birth, Rita Skeeter states in The Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore that Dumbledore was "nearing" his 18th birthday when he left Hogwarts in June, but was still 17 when he met Grindelwald (DH18). Basically, at some point during Grindelwald’s stay at Godric’s Hollow Dumbledore turned 18, so the month of his birth appears to be July or August."

The 1844 date is probably based on Rowling saying he was about 150 in 2001.

The Ron quote was just a joke.

It was actually taken off something officially released by Warner Brothers some years ago now. Darn WB.

I dislike those inconsistencies we get sometimes over things like Dumbledore's age or Hermione's middle name. I suppose with so much information that Rowling created, there's bound to be a few errors here and there. Taken as a whole, it's quite remarkable how much information is present in this whole series though!

Rowling said he was 150. Then it was contradicted by the dates. I also was perplexed about it, but not really much. I was more annoyed that Hermione's name changed, because the reason for changing it was a really poor one. So Rowling is saying that it is bad to be named Jane, when it's such a common name? I think it would have been better to just keep her as Jane, after all, it's just a common name.
