Visiting Florean Fortescue's for a tasty treat? In the shop just to meet and greet with friends? Either way, you'll probably be looking for a place to sit down. Lining one of the walls of the parlour and mounted to the floor, are ten padded, white-leathered booth seats with chairs on the oppose side. Each chair has the ability to turn around and around, so be careful when seated, or else you just might spin yourself out of control!

If you're here with a crowd of friends or hoping for some company soon, you'll need to choose one of the many padded, white-leathered booths spread throughout the parlour. At each table, you'll find a menu showcasing all the tasty flavours available at Florean Fortescue's. A napkin dispenser can also be found at every table, just in case you have to clean up any ice cream accidents that do tend to happen.

Diagon Alley, as it turned out, didn't so much change in the few years that the brunette was re-assigned overseas. The same shops ever since she was an ickle 11 year old were still standing proud around, albeit with minor additions and tweaks.

It was too nostalgic.

So as a nod to nostalgia, Beatrice went into Florean's and ordered her usual vanilla ice cream. She had half an hour before she had to pick up Tamlin.

Truth be told, Sophie COULD have left her two youngest kids with Calen that day. She COULD have. But did she?

Nope. Of course not.

So with Mackenzie on her back in a nice baby sling, she held onto little Scarlett's hand and struggled led her daughter around the streets of Diagon Alley.

...

Okay, Scarlett was the one doing the leading here, who was she kidding? That was probably why they ended up in Florean Fortescue's instead of... anywhere that didn't sell food that could potentially ruin her children's teeth.

WELL. This brunette wasn't going to protest, because she fancied a bit of ice cream herself. BUT did she really or was that just her willingness to please her little 4 year-old?

UmmmMMMmMMmm.............. Probably both.

No matter, it was clearly ice cream time now! Sophie stepped into the shop just as her daughter pulled away from her grip and ran off to the counter, bumping into someone's legs on her way. "Sorry, ice cream!" Sophie heard her say as she continued to run without looking back.

Facepalm.

"I'm so sorry..." Sophie said to whomever it was her daughter had slammed into that day, always keeping an eye on... right, whose mini-me was Scarlett? She didn't have any idea.

She was enjoying her ice cream, as usual, but she would have enjoyed it more if Tamlin was here. He would have probably insisted on getting seconds and being the doting mother that she was, she would have easily relented. Anything to make him happy, really. That was the entire sentiment. But today she had had a lot of work stuff to take care of, being it her official "coming back" to the British Ministry after being assigned abroad for years. It was actually a pleasant surprise that she was able to settle everything before the sun came down and had this little moment with herself.

A half hour more to see her son. Not long now.

Just then, a small figure bumped on her legs and the ex-Ravenclaw reflexively reached her hand out to make sure the kid did not fall. But no falling whatsoever and the little girl, unfazed, continued on her way. Beatrice chuckled softly then looked up to the direction of the apologizing woman, who must have been the girl's mother.

...

GASP. "Sophie!" Dear Merlin, it was her, right? Which meant... "Was that Scarlett?" It wasn't frequent but she and the Mordaunts exchanged letters throughout the years if only to talk about the birth of babies and such. Then came another gasp from her because at this point she had vacated her seat to give her friend a hug and came face-to-face with another babe. "Holy hippogriffs, is this Mackenzie?"

When the person right in front of her said her name, Sophie's gaze darted form her daughter to... "BEEZUS!" The brunette shouted exclaimed, quickly covering her mouth with one hand and giving an apologetic look and shrug at those around them. Woopsie. Loud much? She couldn't help it, though, she hadn't seen her good friend in AGES!

Before Sophie could say anything else, the former Ravenclaw was asking if that had been Scarlett, making Sophie let out a chuckle as she hugged her friend back. "Yeah, she just turned four last week!" Madness, if you asked her. Sophie would never have thought time could go by this quickly. And yep, that was her youngest on her back. "Kenzie here is... nearly two!" She said, holding onto her friend's arm as a warning for her to get ready for the next part. "The twins are eight. EIGHT!!" The former Hufflepuff flails her hands in front of her BECAUSE! She still couldn't believe she had children who were eight years-old, alright. Was she that old? Apparently so.

MERLIN!

Anyways. "So you're back now!? For good?? Have you moved in anywhere yet? Do you need help with anything? How's Tamlin!?" Sophie had ZERO CHILL because BEEZUS WAS BACK IN TOWN, EVERYONE!!!! "You have to come over for dinner and a playdate for the kids some time soon!! Mordred will love to see you!" She said, wishing she could let her husband know RIGHT NOW that their friend was standing right THERE IN FRONT OF HERRRRR! This was SO EXCITING!!

...

OHMERLIN, WHERE WAS SCARLETT NOW? Oh, there she was by the counter blabbing away with some random stranger. Okay, good.

OHMERLIN, WHERE WAS SCARLETT NOW? Oh, there she was by the counter blabbing away with some random stranger. Okay, good.

This was Sophie, all right.

Beezus Beatrice's mouth was now set in a perpetual wide smile as she took in the barrage of information from her long-time friend. She had been so busy with moving in and work and Tamlin that she barely had time to let her friends know that she was back. She should've have done it earlier because merlin, she missed the other woman, as well as the kids.

ESPECIALLY the kids.

Scarlett was four? "Oh, goodness, remind me to get her a late birthday present." She'd missed A LOT, she knew. It was high time she made up for that. Plus more playmates for her Tamlin! He was going to be so excited! Where did Scarlett go, by the way? ...Oh, there she was. Merlin, she was practically Sophie's mini-me!

...And Mackenzie was two? Ugh, the sweet coddle. And WHAT...what? She squeezed her friend's arm in return, her brown eyes widening slightly. The twins were eight?! When did that happen? They were still babies last time she saw them. "Eight?! Holy hippogriffs, Sophie. What are you and Mordred doing? Building a Quidditch team?" She teased, pulling the mother of a soon-to-be Mordaunt Quidditch team to sit.

Keeping an eye on Scarlett as well, the brunette laughed at her friend's onslaught of more questions. "Yes, I'm back! With Tamlin, of course." A small squeal might have escaped her at the proclamation. "It's so hard being a single mother, Soph, mainly because Tamlin is so curious at everything now and I just want to spend all the time with him but then there's work..." She could totally use some help. "He's off to a private babysitter right now, one my Aunt recommended. Asking you totally slipped my mind but in the future, would you mind watching him some time?" Tamlin was pretty well-behaved anyway...for the most part.

Also, dinner...more Mordaunt madness goodness. "Yes to dinners and playdates. Absolutely yes."

Sophie smiled at the birthday gift comment, waving a dismissive hand. "Don't worry about it, honestly." She said, keeping an eye on her little girl who was clearly making new friends over there at the counter.

Her friend's next remark made Sophie laugh out loud in amusement. "Don't say that, I'm not sure Mordred would be able to cope." She laughed some more. "If it was up to me, though..." The brunette trailed off, giving Beezus a playful look before shaking her head. "No, I'm only joking. We have our hands pretty full now." Like, VERY MUCH full. Beezus needed to spend some time with Noah and Scarlett more specifically to realise what Sophie really meant.

Imagine if Mordred and herself ended up having MORE kids like Noah and Scarlett? There would probably be no house left one day. ........Literally.

Taking a seat, Sophie couldn't stop smiling brightly at the other woman as she listened to all of her news. The squeal that followed the mention of Tamlin made Sophie's heart super happy. Families being formed was literally Sophie's most favourite THING in the WORLD. Her expression grew slightly more serious as she listened intently and nodded as Beezus continued. Her eyebrows shot up as her friend asked if she would mind watching Tamlin for her some time. "Absolutely, you don't need to ask twice! Honestly, just let me know whenever you need a break or if you have things to do. I'm staying home at the moment with the kids anyway, and what's one more when there are four there already." She chuckled, watching as Scarlett now moved on from one person to another, apparently carrying on full conversations about Merlin knew what.

Beezus accepted her invite for dinner and playdate, so Sophie was obviously smiling brightly again. "Perfect! Just tell me when you're free and what day works best for you!" EEEEEEEEEEEP, she couldn't wait for it already!

And a thought suddenly crossed her mind. "Is Tamlin okay with animals?" Poker face.

Not that they owned a zoo or anything. Only... they kind of did.

It was a beautiful day outside today, perfect for ice cream. Which this unfortunately means that everyone was sitting outside in the outdoor seating. EVERYONE, literally everyone. This was a small disappointment for Phoenix. At least if he was outside he could see the pretty girls walk by, and also enjoy his ice cream.

He would just have to settle for being indoors, and watching the girls who came in to buy ice cream. If he spotted a really cute one maybe he would buy the ice cream for her. You know, that was as good conversation starter. Either way he didn’t mind, he had his ice cream and somewhere to sit down and watch out. What more could a 15 year old dude ask for.

Not that they owned a zoo or anything. Only... they kind of did.

Of course Sophie was going to say she didn't have to worry about the gift, pfft. Beezus didn't push it but she made a mental note to do just that once she had the time. Tamlin would love it too, shopping for toys to give to his friends.

Her thoughts of what gifts to get for the Mordaunt kids faded when she heard what Sophie said next. Snort!giggle. Merlin, they were quite the pair (plus two kids in tow), weren't they? 30 something women and they were joking about that. She was fairly certain Mordred would have shushed and given them both a look had he been there, that brooding bloke. "Maybe when 'kenzie is a bit older?" She suggested more teasingly.

As always, she still couldn't help but be amazed at some of her friends who had big families. Taking care of one baby was no easy feat, even much more, say, three of them. She was in awe with them, with Sophie.

And now her friend was even volunteering to watch Tamlin sometime, even when she already had four of her own. She reached out to take one of her friend's hand. "Thank you, Soph. I'm truly grateful for that. Tamlin needs to socialize more with kids his age and I would be very comfortable if those kids are your kids." Because you know, even if they had their own quirks, she was confident that her son and the Mordaunts will be great friends. Just like her and their parents. And if they didn't, well... a parent could only hope.

Animals? The brunette blinked only once. "Okay with animals?" Scoff, followed by a head shake. "He's not okay with animals, Soph. He's CRAZY about them." Merlin, if her son could stay at the Magical Menagerie for the whole day he would. It was only a matter of time before he would be bringing every critter home. "He's already asked me to get him a dragon's egg for his 7th birthday!"

Kamryn had wanted to eat outside and possibly people watch, see if she could find any of her friends, Ansel, Maeve, Anahera, Cameron, Chase! Anyone would do! But sadly there was no seats outside and so she headed inside to buy some ice cream..

She pushed her hair behind her shoulder as she concentrated on the menu, she would see who was around later but right now there were more important thing to focus on..

Like what kind of Sunday did she want..

Phoenix was less interested in his ice cream, as more people came in. None of which he knew. They seemed to be old kids too. That drew him back to his ice cream that had already started to melt. It was probably a good thing that he wasn’t outside after all. The ice cream definitely would be melted by now.

Out of the corner of his eye he seen the door open up again, this time he finally seen someone he knew. Kam. He had to admit that seeing her bought a grin to his face. He had no idea why. Captain oblivious clearly. Maybe. They were friends? Not that Phe had that many but he did consider her a friend.

He waved over at her. Not seeming like he was overly excited to see her or was actually waiting on someone he knew to pop into the shop. He waited for a bit to walk over to see her. Really he was coming up with a reason to get up and walk over to her.

Realizing that he did in fact need a napkin. The melted ice cream was all over his hand. He got up and headed past her. ”Hey Kam. How’s your summer been so far?” With a grin, he waited for answer as he grabbed a napkin to wipe his hand.

Sophie couldn't help but laugh out loud at Beezus' suggestion of 'maybe when Kenzie is a bit older.' "That'll probably give Mordred a heart attack. I don't want to be a young widow, you know?" She joked, fixing the baby carrier on her back.

The former Hufflepuff's warm smile reached her eyes when her friend took her hand and thanked her. The comment about her feeling comfortable knowing Tamlin would be socialising with her kids made her heart super happy. "No, no need to thank me! The kids will love it and so will I!" She added truthfully. "I'm sure Tamlin is a lovely child, having been raised by you!" Sophie finished with a nod. If he was the troublemaker type... well, Sophie had now grown used to looking after those too, so it would be fine.

NOT that a troublemaker couldn't be a lovely child, but that wasn't what she meant.

ANYWAY.

Sophie raised her eyebrows, already starting to think of a plan now that Beezus said Tamlin wasn't okay with animals when... the other women finished her train of thought saying her child was crazy about creatures. "Oh, good! I'm glad! We have um... a few pets." To say the least, hehe. "Mordred breeds owls now and our llamas seem to um... come in pairs." Male and female too, which was probably why they constantly had baby llamas and alpacas everywhere. Beezus' next remark about Tamlin's wishes made Sophie crack up again. "Oh, Merlin, he'll definitely get along with our Noah, then. Oh, and remember Ella's daughter, Cecelia!? She's nine this year and she's also crazy about dragons. I'll see if Ella can bring them along whenever you come over too! It'll be great to have a reunion!" And now Sophie was already daydreaming about gathering ALL of their Hogwarts friends for a big dinner one day so they could all catch up and introduce their own kids to each other and eeeeeeeep, that'd be brilliant!

Kam looked over as she thought she saw someone waving at her and she grinned as she saw Phoenix standing there, she waved back at him happily as she waited in line, her blue eyes sparkling a bit.

She considered him a friend and it was nice to see a familiar face around here! So far she hasn’t seen anyone she knew.

Her grin grew wider as he got up and walked past her and she pushed her hair behind her shoulders as she looked at him. “Hey Phoenix, it’s been all right actually, how about yours? Up to anything fun? ” She asked him as she scooted up in line just a bit.

It was a sunny day and Pavel understood why Filip had chosen Floreans for their meeting under the radar. Ice cream would make it bearable as they talked team stuff in preparation for their next game in the world cup against Portugal. He had a feeling that Cynthia though would be difficult as per her usual. Stepping into Floreans the 28 year old beater for the England National Team ventured over to the counter to buy himself a cone with a scoop each of chocolate frog, jelly slug and strawberry. Turning from the counter Pavel took a small yummy tasting bite of his cone before he walked over to sit down at a corner table.

Pavel would have chosen to sit in the outdoors considering the beautiful sunny weather but he hoped that sitting inside would give him and the rest of the team privacy from nosy prophet reporters or fans.

ICE CREAM.

I mean, who can really go wrong with ice cream? Even if you were one of those weirdo's that like corned beef ice cream or something like that, it was STILL ice cream. Those were Torii's exact thoughts as she made her way toward the indoor seating area. She still hadn't ordered her ice cream yet, but she'd make her way up there soon.

She'd had a pretty decent summer, but she was kind of glad school would be starting soon. Ever since her parents died, and she had to make her way from America all the way across the pond, she hadn't enjoyed summers as much as she thought she would. Also, she was determined to make more friends to his year at Hogwarts. She'd made some last year, but even she had to admit she'd been so bitter about the move that she hadn't opened up to new friends as much as she thought she should.

So everything was going to be alright for her. It was just going to keep getting better and better!

siriusblackliveson 04-13-2019 06:13 PM

Ice cream. He needed ice cream. It had been a long day of walking around and he felt hungry but not for real food. Rather the good stuff. After looking around he grabbed a table waiting a few minutes to see if he would know anyone walking in so he wouldn’t have to sit alone. It was one of those things that Got old after a while and he was not in the mood for isolation this afternoon. But he needed to make it look like he wasn’t desperate for friends.

One of the things Kam loved about heading into Diagon, was that there was so many people about. Things at her house were quiet, most of her siblings were gone, though she did have her closest sibling Chase there for awhile.

But normally it was just her, her parents worked and so she was left to her own devices. Which was lovely for a day or so.. getting to sleep in was amazing, but after lounging around the house and baking as much as she could..

She was lonely, she missed her friends and her boyfriend and so.. she headed into Diagon to see if she could happen to see one, or five.. she wasn’t needy at all!

She stepped into Floreans and looked around, intent on getting some ice cream and perhaps people watch for a bit. She smoothed back her light brown ponytail, making sure it looked neat and the floo here hadn’t disrupted it!

Patrick looked up he noticed a girl that he swore he recognized the girl smoothing her hair from Hogwarts. But he wasn’t exactly sure how to ask if she did indeed goes to Hogwarts.

He looked up again mouth slightly open trying to figure out the best way to ask. Finally deciding that directly was the only way to actually ask. He stood, ”uh, excuse me. You go to Hogwarts don’t you...?” wow he was so smooth. He thought he recognized her as one of his classmates who was in his year...but now felt as if he was all wrong

Nettie was always in the alley this summer. It was far better than the alternative - going back to her house where you could cut the tension with a knife. She'd soooo been looking forward to a relaxing summer at home, focusing on her Quidditch, and yet she'd now found herself actively avoiding her parents and reading up on subjects she had always wanted to learn about, and just never had the time. Like kanji. Eiji was a good tutor and all, but it was also interesting trying to read it on her own. Since he was in Japan, she really had no choice and it made her feel comforted, like he was there with her which she knew she shouldn't feel but UGH. Teenage angst.

She was getting sick of ice cream, so instead of going to order, she walked in and tried to find a place to do her reading. Except the place was PACKED and there wasn't any empty table in sight. SIGH. She looked around and spotted Torii, the Slytherin she always had been bumping in to last term, and headed her way.

"Hey Torii! Mind if I sit?" she asked her, before going ahead and just...doing it anyways. Because she'd definitely say yes, right?

Derf wasn't entirely sure how fair it was to have asked Natalie to meet him here today, but seeing as they had sorta reconciled back at Hogwarts - though that had namely been Natalie concerned that he hated her, which...well...he only hated one person and she was nothing like that monster of a man - and it felt like the right thing to do before he departed for Australia. He had also taken a small side trip to Janus Galloglass before coming to the ice cream parlor and finding a table for the two of them. Thankfully he still had some galleons to spend - though it was more like sickles and knuts at this point.

Waiting with two bowls of ice cream - the flavor he had ordered was still her favorite, right? - he waited for Natalie to arrive.

Kamryn was about to focus on the menu when she heard a voice speak to her and she turned her head and smiled, almost instantly recognizing the Slytherin Quidditch Captain. With a former boyfriend in Slytherin and her current boyfriend also in Slytherin, she was well aware of who was who in that house.

“Yeah, I do. I’m a Hufflepuff, soon to be sixth year. ” She added for clarification.

“And you were the Quidditch Captain Yeah?” She asked with a smile. Though sadly his name escaped her at the moment.

He chuckled, "That makes me feel better. I swore you looked so familiar." he couldn't imagine how foolish he would have looked had she not. He wasn't as familiar with some of the Hufflepuff students but he recognized familiar faces. "I'm a soon to be sixth year too."

Then his smile faltered a bit, she knew him. Woah he felt so terrible now that he didn't remember her. "Oh yeah I'm the captain." he shrugged, "I'm Patrick." He trailed off hoping that she would fill him in on her name.

To ice cream or not to ice cream? That was the question. Torii shrugged to herself and took a seat at an empty table. With nothing else to do at the moment, she looked through her shopping bags. She'd just gotten half of her fifth year supplies bought, and she'd decided to just save the rest of the shopping for a later time. She was supposed to meet up with her aunt in a little while and hand over her supplies. After that, Torii could spend the rest of the day doing fun things!

Just when she was convinced there was nothing else left to do but go buy ice cream, she heard her name. Oh? Looking up, she saw Nettie, and almost braced herself in preparation of the girl bumping into her. Nettie somehow always managed to do that. However, she was safe this time, so she just nodded and moved her bags over. "Yeah, sure! What's up?" she asked, hoping to talk about anything but school.

Natalie had actually been rather delighted to receive his invitation. Any time Derf wanted to be with her was further confirmation that he didn't actually hate her (even though she still believed he had every right to and was still slightly bewildered that he didn't). She had been in a good mood for the last good while, especially now that it was summer time and she was able to wear something other than her Hogwarts robes.

Sporting her new summer hair cut and some of her favorite denim shorts, Natalie made her way down Diagon Alley in search of her favorite blonde mop. Peering inside the window of the ice cream shop, she spotted him and smiled.

Once she was inside, she made her way over to the table where he was sitting. "You remembered," she said proudly as she sat down across the table from him, inspecting the bowl of strawberry ice cream he had gotten for her.

"Not much," Nettie said with a smile as she took a seat across from her. "Just relaxing after quidditch practice," she explained. She wondered if her athletic leggings and athletic top made that obvious, or if the older girl just thought she liked wearing workout clothes. Which WERE super comfy, by the way.

"How has your summer been so far?" she asked her. She felt like it was a given that it was better than HER summer, at least.

Hmm...come to think of it, Nettie did look like she was dressed for Quidditch. Torii nodded, thinking about how she'd once been really into Quodpot, but Quidditch hadn't interested her when she'd gotten to Hogwarts. Oh, well. "Sounds fun," she commented anyway. Torii wished she had a way to hang out with her Hogwarts friends over the summer. She techically was doing that now, but it'd taken all summer to get to this point.

"It's been...alright," she said. She wondered if Nettie knew her parents had died a year ago. She wondered if Nettie knew that Torii just went home to an aunt and uncle she barely even knew. She smiled. "I'm just ready to get back to Hogwarts. I've missed everybody. So how's your summer been?"

Kamryn smiled widely at him and nodded. “Mmmm, well I’m glad I can help you feel better. ” She said softly, really it was her mission in life. As long as her friends were okay, that’s all that mattered to her.

“Oh! So we are in the same year then, that’s fun. How do you think you did on your OWLs? ” She asked curiously. It was always an interesting topic to bring up.. especially with fellow fifth years as they all had the same experience to go through.

“It’s nice to finally meet you Patrick. I’m Kamryn, Kamryn Keighley. ” She said as she grinned at him.

If there was any one he hated between the two of them it was himself for, you know, not being a better version of himself during the whole...sage that had been their relationship of sorts at Hogwarts. He wouldn't entirely say that everything felt normal and good, but they felt better and better implied progress and and progress was a very good thing.

He would have stood and hugged her when she approached, but she was sitting before he really had a chance to do so. So he would settle for smiling softly at her instead. He could get a hug later perhaps. "Of course," he said easily. He remembered a lot of things. "You look well. I'm glad."

Hearing her statement softly made he smiled broader. He really hoped he was looking friendly and not creepy. Creepy is never an okay look on anyone. His heart fell as he heard her question about owls. Oh boy, he had been avoiding that envelope, which his parents hadn't found yet. "Mine arrived last week when I was at my grandparents... haven't really had the heart to look" he scratched the back of his head nervously.

Placing his hand back in his lap Patrick made eye contact with her, "How did yours go?" he had hoped that all of his friends and honestly that the whole fifth year passed them. Had anyone at hogwarts ever had to repeat a year because they failed their OWLs? Oh god was he going to be the first one?

Smiling back at her name, "Yes it is absolutely superb to finally meet you Kamryn." Superb Patrick....really? He really needed to stop watching those old time muggle movies with his muggle friends. Soon he'd start using whippersnapper in normal conversation.

That was something Natalie hated about it too - her own faults during the... relationship stacked up high in her mind. In her mind, Derf did little to no wrong. But he had also insisted that he was okay and that they should move on, so that was what she was trying to do. Move past it and continue as friends - as they were always meant to be.

With another smile, Natalie pulled the bowl of strawberry ice cream towards her. "You look well, too." He was now seeing Chloe, of course, which made complete sense. And they were cute together. Natalie took a bite of her ice cream.

"What's the first item on your adventure list, Mister Scamander?" Since, you know, he was probably a reincarnation of Newt Scamander and he apparently was going to do a whole bunch of cool stuff instead of go to University. She was a little envious.

"Me too. I thought I'd have more fun this summer but...I've found myself wanting to get back to school too," Nettie admitted with a small sigh. She didn't want to bother the girl with her family drama - or anyone for that matter. "I've missed all my friends too. And hopefully this term, no mutants!" she joked with a chuckle.

"How is it here during the summer? I mean, compared to your old home?" she asked out of curiosity. Nettie could tell from the accent that she was obviously not from around here. She kept hearing from all the American transfers that London was gloomy. It WAS, but France hadn't been much better honestly.

For Eva! <3 (Nordic Witch)

A third year.... she was a third year!

Where did the time go, just seems like yesterday she was a first year get her new wand and everything. It was crazy how fast it was going by, but Phoenix did tell her after the first year it's going to go by fast, she just didn't think this quickly. Honestly it was scaring her quite a bit, she felt like her childhood was slipping away. Although on a bright note, her now teenage self is happy that she has a boyfriend now even if its her best friend Oceanus, with him by her side she could do anything. Smiling at how awesome her summer been, she knew it'll be even better once they go back to Hogwarts.

Although all worries and doubts were pushed aside as shd walked into the icecream shop and ordered two scoops of mint chocolate chip icecream. Her sky blue eyes wondering around, she seen a empty table before she quickly sat down licking her ice cream happily her school supplies in the chair next to her and under her feet. There was no way she was eating outside in this heat, it was already killing her and making it hard to breathe, then again she forgot to take her potions for her asthma being inca rush this morning. Taking her inhaler out she shook it before taking a couple of puffs of it before setting it back in her bag. Waiting a bit for it to kick in she happily went back to her ice cream as if nothing happened.

Looking down at her list she checked off everything that she gotten. She gotten quite a bit, all she needed to get was her robe and she'll be done, but those could wait until her taste buds were satisfied. She swears she could live on chocolate and sweets seeing how she ate them so much, she was the sugar queen. Humming to herself she looked around for any of her friends and her boyfriend and sighed sadly, she missed them although she knew that they all had lives beside her.

Quentin Alvey was very fond of Florean's. It was a staple in the summers of his childhood, sometimes as a reward for receiving greater heights un school, and sometimes just because. Now that the 22-year-old thought about it, he couldn't recall the last time he'd come here. Was it the summer before he'd left for Mumbai? The spring of '97 after his first ever A? Or perhaps it was the day his father had asked him along, hoping for a rekindling that have never quite happened.

The Son of Durmstrang allowed these memories to wash over him while he sat- his table the one closest to the window so he could enjoy the Alley without feeling that (for lack of a better word) brisk english air. He'd not dressed for the cold, you see- warming charms, he had insisted to himself, existed for a reason - but to impress and it certainly showed.

The impression he wanted to make on -He looked down at the parchment where he'd scribbled her name- Natalie McKinley was one of a consummate professional despite his age, his inexperience and the location he'd chosen for their first meeting. Which he most certainly didn't regret. Q idly cracked his knuckles, ignoring the very strong urge to check his watch- for while he had only been there a few minutes, the young man felt like it had been so much longer. He was impatient, you see. Ready, as it were to meet this person and decide whether or not they'd suit him and his jolly little shop.

Florean's was also a place of great memories for Natalie. She had met in this ice cream shop many times with dear friends. It was part of the reason Natalie had to keep reminding herself that was not a casual, friendly meeting, but an important, professional one. Her mum had been hounding her for months to get herself a job. It turned out that there WAS a limit on how much she could spend until her mum would cut her off. Yikes.

Regardless, Natalie did want a job. She wanted experience in her field - hands on work with the plants that she would be working with for the rest of her schooling, career, and... life. So when this opportunity presented itself, she jumped on it. It was much better than busing booths at a pub.

Natalie was a few minutes early. She hated being late. Nervously toying with a button on her blouse, Natalie approached the ice cream shop and saw a young man by himself. He was... remarkably young. Only a few years older than herself, she supposed. Was this the right bloke? After glancing around quickly and seeing no one else alone that could be the man she was looking for, Natalie approached him and timidly cleared her throat. "Quentin..?" she asked, offering a small smile in case it was him indeed. First impressions were important after all.

"Yes?" The young man began, before remembering himself. Quentin suddenly sat up, his back straighter than a rod. "Miss McKinley, yes?" He amended, rising up from his seat and offering the auburn-haired beauty his right hand to shake. Taken aback Quentin might have been, but his recoveries were always rather good- breeding and all. "Quentin Alvery, That's all me." Smoothly spoken in an accent that was english, with something avuncular about it, something untraceable unless you knew of someone who had attended Durmstrang.

Clean, certainly. There was a tidiness about Natalie's person which Quentin immediately favored, and something soft in her large eyes- something which screamed out to be trusted. Yes, that was all very good, perfect even for someone who would be working closely with plants and people. "I haven't ordered anything, figured I'd wait until you popped in." For more reasons than just being polite.

Natalie paused nervously when the man replied with a simple "yes". She had expected a different reply - not a QUESTION, certainly. But her smile returned quickly when he straightened up and said her name. Okay, phew. All was well. Grinning a little, Nat nodded, glancing at the hand he offered. Though, his formality made her wish she had called him by his last name too... Crud. Did she already screw up? "Yes, that's me. Mr... Alvery." Was it too late to call him that? Regardless, Natalie grabbed onto his hand and gave it a gentle shake.

As for the accent, she was panicking inside too much to notice anything other than English. Her own accent was also questionable. Raised by an Irish mother and an American father, surrounded by the English. It was quite the mix.

Tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear, Natalie was about to sit down when he mentioned that he had been waiting to order until she got in. "Oh," she said, hesitating by her chair. Did she sound dumb? "That's very kind of you." ........ Awkward pause. He was handsome, wasn't he? "Shall we go do that then? At the counter?" You know, where people ordered? Right? Merlin, it was hot in there, wasn't it?

Nerves. She was nervous.

Q grimaced as the young woman mixed up his name- he was not offended by any means- but this was about to make the already slightly uncomfortable introduction into a properly uncomfortable introduction. "It's Alvey, miss McKinley... An honest mistake." the son of Durm said, gently correcting her. His smile, from then on, was quite apologetic as if he had been the one to make the mistake. Smoothly, Q ran his well-manicured fingers through his jet-black hair and rose from his seat, leaving behind his jacket.

"To be fair," He began levelly, grinning a little. "It worked out in my favor as well.. A grown man eating ice cream alone is a bit of a sad sight, wouldn't you agree?" Q finished, his dark eyes flashing with mischief- but only for a moment, for in the next he was right back to his more business like posture. "Absolutely. After you." He gestured forward, stepping back to give Natalie enough space to walk toward the counter.

Well, this was awkward. And it showed on Natalie's face how nervous and embarrassed she was. She just called a potential employer by the wrong name. The former Slytherin grimaced too, letting out an embarrassed laugh, her face turning redder by the second. "Sorry..."

She appreciated the lightness of a joke, though, and her nerves eased a little. She was still red, though.

Natalie nodded appreciatively when he gestured her forward and she made her way to the counter. Her inner awkwardness returned when she realized that a long moment had passed where she hadn't actually said anything to him besides an embarrassed apology for calling him by the wrong name and that she should perhaps actually say something.

After paying for her cup of strawberry ice cream, Natalie stepped aside so he could place an order too. "I always tell myself I'm going to try a new flavor," she said, by way of small talk. "But I always back out last second and get strawberry." It was her favorite, okay?

It was Wednesday, which meant Wallace was once again sitting at Florean Fortescues with vanilla ice cream with a mountain of gummy bears. He chuckled to himself at his choice this week, wondering if he could have crammed any more gummy bears in the ice cream dish. Wallace carefully began to pick gummy bears out and started munching on them as he pondered his new life in London.

It was a different world than he remembered when he was in school. Once he moved to the United States for his career and met his Margo, London was in the back of his mind. It looked different than it did all those years ago. Smelled different too, but Wallace couldn't quite pinpoint what the smell was.

Munching on more of the gummy bears Wallace remembered his daughter Gloria's birthday was approaching in a few weeks time. He needed to shop for her and find the perfect gift. As much as he struggled every year to find the perfect gift for her, Gloria seemed to always be so thrilled with his selection.

The Mist event that had happened last term had been in the back of Dorian's mind all summer. He concidered himself lucky that he had not come in contact with it except for briefly during their evacuation and he did not want to know how the others were feeing. He overheard snippets about what was happening at the Ministry of his father's conversations with his grandfather when they were working in the study room, unaware that Dorian was eavesdropping at the door.

He had mixed feelings about going back to Hogwarts if they opened it back up this year. On one hand he wanted to leave. He had been wanting to study at Ilvermorny ever since his second year but if he left now he would have survived a possession, inferi attack, insane professors, terrifyingly cute monsters and that Mist for nothing. If he could survive six years at Hogwarts he could do anything.

He sighed as a drop of ice cream landed on his book and cleaned it with a tissue that came with the ice cream and then closed the book. His thoughts were too distracting at the moment to focus on the writing. He continued to eat his ice cream as he watched the people in the room.

She'd finally convinced her host father that one ice-cream wasn't going to spoil her appetite for whatever fancy dinner he had in mind (who'd thought an auror of all people would be strict? /sarcasm). And he'd even agreed to let her go by herself (though she was sure Mr. Carter was somewhere right outside keeping an eye out). Honestly, she couldn't understand what was so scary about some fog. It was basically just a cloud that had formed way to close to the ground (or confused clouds, as her real dad called them). Big whoop.

Anyway, she'd gotten her banana pudding-flavored cone, topped it with whipped creme at the toppings bar, took a big bite (unknowingly getting some on the tip of her nose) and began looking around for a place to sit. She spotted a boy that looked about the age to be going to this Hogwarts place and decided that sitting with him would be better than sitting alone. Besides, it'd be great to hear about the school from a fellow student, rather than someone who had once gone there.

"Hey, this seat taken?" she asked in her Cuban accent, her free hand on the chair across from him.

While taking a bite out of his ice cream, Dorian placed his ancient runes textbook that he had with him today beside him. He looked up from his seat to a girl around his own age, perhaps a bit younger (or maybe older, you could never tell these days) before he looked at the empty seat in front of him.

"Seat is not taken" he said as he made a gesture with his hand that told her that she could sit. "At least i don't think anyone is there...." he added, squinting at the empty seat. This was the wizarding world after all. Perhaps someone sat there with an invisibility cloak on or they had used an Disillusionment Charm on themselves to hide in public. Why they would do that at an ice cream parlor was beyond him but weirder things happened. Like a tiny little fluffball eating a professor in one bite kind of weird.

He looked at the girl again and his eyes went to her nose as he saw the ice cream on it. He bit his lower lip not to laugh and debated for a second or two whether he should tell her or not but in the end he decided that it was better to tell the truth. Better to feel embarrassed now than when everyone was staring at you right? "You've got some ice cream right there" he said as he pointed with his finger to his own nose.

Ahhhh... ice cream time.

That's her favorite part of her shopping list for today, assuming there is one. She barely bought anything for school because she is more focused in buying the nicest looking ice cream she can find or devour. She made her way inside Florean's and immediately walked towards the menu. Her eyes beaming with happiness. It's a hot day and she needs 2 scoops of ice cream.

Strawberry and mango.

Fruity flavors are always the best flavors on a summer day. After purchasing she walked towards the seating area and found a good place to sit. The place is a tad bit crowded but she manages to squeeze in. Setting her bag on top of the table she tried tasting the strawberry ice cream on top.

Yummy. Totally the best.

Oops, had she interrupted his studying? But then again, it was summer, there couldn't be that much studying to be done.

Oh good, no one was knowingly sitting there, unless they had made themselves invisible somehow. But if that was the case, they certainly deserved to be sat on. As Dalia was doing to the chair now. Nope, didn't feel like she was sitting on anyone. Good.

What was that? Oh. She quickly with a napkin, laughing off her awkwardness as she did. "Thanks, for telling me." That could've been embarrassing, walking around with ice cream on her nose all day. "So, you go to Hogwarts, right?" She recognized his book as one of the ones on her own supply list, Ancient Runes if she wasn't mistaken.

Dorian watch the girl as she sat down opposite him. She didn't seem familiar to him and he was pretty good with faces. Which could only mean that she was transfer student. What a time to transfer! Not even going to Hogwarts.

"No worries" he said with a small smile and followed her gaze to his own Ancient Runes textbook. It wasn't like he was studying he just enjoyed reading textbooks. Which didn't help his Ravenclaw stereotype... He guessed.

All of you, everyone.. anyone!

What was going on around here?

Leon had burst into the shop and looked around. [b] 'Oh my dear darling children you are so adorable these days, but why is this place so messy? It isn't even clean enough for your beautiful presence. Let the amazing Leon fix that. He quickly disappeared into the back of the shop setting down the book he had been holding, yes that amazing wonderful book he had found on the sidewalk that just was like a magnetic to him and he was so glad he had opened it. He was instantly inspired to make the day a brighter and cleaner day.

Grabbing a bucket and a mop he headed back out to the seating area. "These floors need to be clean, clean, clean." Taking the bucket now filled with soapy water he tossed it to have the water spill out all over and then took his mop and began mopping the very wet floors.

This place was just so dirty, how did he even let it open like this?

Blake was having a very trying day. He had gotten lost, stuck in the pet shop, finally found his dad, and he still hadn't gotten his wand. His dad promised that was next on the list after he grabbed a quick 'pick-me-up" at the pub. Blake had his suspicions he was actually meeting a woman there, since he had said hi to someone named 'Kelly' in the street, but Blake tried to not dwell on it. After all it had been nearly 8 years since the divorce, he didn't really even remember his parents being together, but still.......

Blake sat stewing in his thought licking his peanut butter ice cream just watching people walk by on the street.

Wow... she was going to be a fourth year already where did the time go? It just seems like yesterday she was a shy little first year getting her first set of books and wand. Now she was more out going and more brave and learned alot of things over time. It was a good thing her brother took her school things home, she was getting tired of carrying them. Humming happily to herself, she decided to get some icecream to cool down and chill.

Walking into the the shop, she ordered her a double scoop of mint chocolate chip before looking around, biting her lip she didn't see anywhere but a boy sitting alone. Walking up towards him she gave him a soft warm smile. " Do you mind if I join you? Everywhere else is packed full."

Blake lost in his own thought, startled and nearly dropped his ice cream! "Woah!" He nearly shouted as he caught the cone at the last second. Grabbing a napkin to wipe his hands he looked around to see in fact the shop was full. The girl wanted to sit with him. Jeez, he had met a lot of new people today.

"I suppose" He said pushing the chair out slightly with his foot. He wondered if the girl was going to continue talking to him or if he was going to be eating the remainder of his ice cream in silence. "Have all your school supplies?" He asked ... he couldn't just sit here with someone at his table and not talk to her.

Stella looked at him abd frowned when he almost dropped his cone, she didn't mean to scare him that much. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. " Which was true, she didn't mean to frighten the young boy, she was just asking to sit down. She had the tendency to get lost in her own thouhts as well, it happens alot to her as well, so she didn't blame him. Sometimes fantasy is better then reality was at times, but sometimes deep thoughts were scary as well.

"Um... thank you. " Taking the chair across from him she sat down brushing hair our of her eyes. Reading a book she gotten from the bookstore licking her icecream as she read. Looking up from her book she nodded. "Yes I gotten all mine already, my brother took them home for me, what about you?" she asked him curiously. Closing her book she placed it in her bag for further reading later.

I just need my wand yet" Blake explained to her, and it was after the most important item. "My dad keeps dragging his feet taking me to Ollivanders" He added, he had gotten directions from the older boy, but when he was outside the shop he saw his dad talking to that .... woman... and then was sent here with something for a bit. "I mean you can't start learning magic without it...." Blake trailed off. Ugh.. he sounded childish ... it would come with time he told himself. "I'm Blake by the way. Blake Ryan" He added extending his hand out to her. He hoped it wasn't too sticky from the ice cream.

Sorry, English isn't my first language." she finished with an embarrassed smile. I mean, she knew enough, but sometimes she tripped over her words, like just then.

Oh, seventh year then. So, a couple of years her senior. "Oh, I ran into a few people from other countries already and thought I'd be sure..." That and back home they usually shopped for their things in either America or Mexico, so you know. It was better to be sure than to just assume, after all. "So, what's it usually like?" Yes, she did have a slight curious side, but he didn't want to talk about that, it was fine too.

"Oh, where are my manners?! My name is Dalia, I'm an exchange student from Cuba. What's your name?"

It had been a long and draining week in the office. Nathaniel had been so ready for some time to just relax, and ice cream was exactly what was called for. He loosened the tie he had around his neck, as he hated wearing them but occasionally had to when he had business in the muggle world. He was looking at all of the choices trying to make up his mind on what he wanted. These were the hard choices in life.

He moved his longer than normal hair behind his ear and continued to stare at all the other people choosing a flavor. He wondered what they were getting. Maybe he should just ask one of them to see what they had to get an idea of what he wanted. Especially since it was a nice day and he wanted to enjoy some ice cream, before they closed.... he should be able to make a decision by then.

Welll hellllllllo there.....

Leon had seen the costumer come in, of course, he did. He took his order and they were slow enough that we could tell he was trying to figure things out. The only thing he wasn't sure of was if he should go and give his two knuts or if he should just keep cleaning. The shop was still so dirty, but it was getting better. Leon had spent day and night cleaning and cleaning.

"If you are looking to keep it simple I would say just chocolate chip, but if you want to get a little cray cray go for the sprinkles, strawberries, and peanut butter." Okay he couldn't pass up a chance to talk to a customer.

Nathaniel looked up and smiled. He seemed cheerful. He hadn’t really been paying enough attention to see the other man running about. Plastering on his best smile he nodded, “Can I get both in two different dishes?” He let out a low chuckle, his voice deeper than it looked for someone with his skinny stature. “I honestly cant decide...” He paused not catching his name, but he figured he owned the joint with the way he was walking around.

What a cutie, he wanted to do both just because Leon suggested, well, well well... he had come to the right place now didn't he. "I don't typically do this, but for you, I guess I'll make an exception." Who was he kidding he would probably do it for anyone, but he loved, loved, LOVED, making the customers feel special.

Sauntering back to the front he grabbed two dishes and turned to come back to the toppings area. Yes, Leon did like to make a scene when he moved around his shop, but who wouldn't?

"Now let's see, we can get you all the chocolate chips and then get a little risky." He poured chocolate chips into the first dish and then the second he scooped a few different things before handing them over to the man. "This should work out wonderfully."

Nate smiled, he watched every movement that was made to get his ice cream. It made a very natural smile form on his face. He hadn't felt that kind of happiness since the Quidditch World Cup, seeing kids faces light up and dance around their favorite players. It was an experience for sure.

Glancing down at the ice cream feeling his inner child unleash he couldn't even begin to describe the mouthwatering feeling of the simple scoops and the adventurous scoops. "This looks amazing..." he hadn't caught his name and felt terrible for it but was really hoping that he would offer it up freely. Maybe even sit for a chat since there weren't many others around yet.

Wasn't his job just wonderful? Where else could you make everyone happy with ice cream and chocolate chips? This was the best and Leon just squealed with delight as he said it looked amazing. "What endless possibilities we have when our creativity starts to flow." He had taken a bowl for himself and soon it was filled with nuts and berries with a small bit of chocolate fudge.

"I don't think I've seen you in here before if this your first time with us?" He hadn't owned the shop for too long, but maybe he didn't think he would miss such a handsome man coming into his shop.

Trying to decide between the two bowls of food he quickly decided to go for the one with chocolate chips. He took a bite and smiled about the endless possibilities when it came to creativity. He wasn't super creative, enough to make his job in the Marketing department of Quidditch interesting. "Wow, this is amazing." he licked a bit of the melted chocolate off his finger. He forgot how much he loved ice cream, he was reminded why he tried to limit just how much he had of it.

A smile crossed his face, "oh," he felt a blush creep into his cheeks. "Not first time, just very few visits. Usually I go with something tame." A chuckle escaped his lips as he watched the other man interact with him. "I'm starting to wonder if I made a mistake not coming in here more often. This stuff is so good." He looked back at Leon, "How long have you been a part of this place? I'm Nathaniel by the way" Wow he was unusually chatty and he wasn't sure if that was a good thing because he felt so at ease or if because this good looking guy was making him slightly nervous.

Leon watched the man as he decided, this was more exciting than Witch Weekly! The look on customers ' faces when they have just had the best ice cream in the Wizarding World was priceless to him, though getting their money for it was always good too.

When he went for the chocolate chips, Leo knew it was a good choice and he took a bite of his own creation. "Oh I see, well maybe this will be the start of a regular customer then." He could hope to see him in here more often. "We can get creative every time you come, maybe something new each time. I was thinking about doing a VIP customer card or something. You know those buy three get the fourth free type things." It was one of the many things he was thinking about.

"Oh I've owned it for about a year now. My brother and I own a restaurant a few streets over that has done well, but I wanted to try my hand at something different so here I am." He smiled and looked around, it was a good choice. "What is it that you do?"

Nate smiled. He hadn't had this much fun in a while, but then again he figured that was because he was extremely busy making sure things with the ministry went off without a hitch. "Oh that'd be nice. I think things like that go over really well with customers. Especially those who don't frequent places as often as in their youth." And yes he was talking about himself in that moment. But he acted more like a 60 year old man instead of the 30-something he actually is.

Nodding along to Leon telling him about his brother and their successful restaurant made him smile. Even though he wasn't usually a talker he found himself wanting more and more conversation with Leon. "Oh," He chuckled wiping his face with the napkin from the table. "I work over at the Ministry. I'm on the PR team for Quidditch." Blushes because while good at his job he hated talking about his accomplishments.
