| In A While Life Behind Glass I created this thread to put in my occasional writings of poetry. I rarely write poems because I feel I can't do it *lol*... but sometimes, a good one comes along, and I'm the type of person that likes feedback. Before people flame (constructive criticism: good! harassing flames: bad), I may want to remind you that poems do not have to rhyme, nor do they need to have a special metre. I hope you'll like the collection of 'Life Behind Glass'.
:cat: ~~~~~~~~~~ ~ In A While ~ I was staring out into the skies today Heavy and thick, the snow fell A distant echo Of something that happened not long ago Hungrily, I opened the window Let the flakes fall on my face Caress my skin Awaken me from the daze I've been in lately Do you remember, my dear, how you held me close? It was windy and cold But the sun shone Snow sparkling around us Do you remember, my dear, the scent of me? Your nose, your breath Tickled my neck Sent shivers down my spine Do you remember, my dear, the evening after? That one sweet, light kiss Like a soft summer's breeze Like a snowflake on my face And yet, through all the memories, Things developed so differently Than we both had thought A week ago. In a while, my dear, Maybe you'll see the chance you had. In a while, my dear, Maybe I'll still be waiting. In a while, my dear, Maybe we can try again.

An explanation is in order, I guess. You see, this (in a less poetic style) actually did happen to me not that long ago *sighs*. Well, it's just all weird. Anyway, I would appreciate some reviews because I'm not very sure about writing poetry at all...

I'll probably have another one up here soon. I usually write when I get too bored in class...

| Life Behind Glass Right, weirdly enough, I've written a few more poems these past days, so I'll post one now.
:cat:
o°oOoo°O°ooOo°o
~ Life Behind Glass ~ They say I'm living in a bubble Trapped in it Like I don't want to get out Like I want to stay away Like I enjoy it This life behind glass You see, they're not quite aware This bubble It's my only protection It's my safe haven It's security And I'm happy here I don't mean to shut myself off Unreachable, untouchable At least not on purpose At least not to be special At least not to **** off That's not why Here, in my fantasy world I can dream I don't have to see destruction I don't have to see despair I don't have to see fight It's shut away But I'm scared that it won't last That it will shatter Someone will come along one day Someone will throw me out Someone will destroy it It will break one day It will burst like a soap bubble You know the kind The ones we used to play with as kids The ones that shimmered The ones that flew Up high in the air And, tell me, do you remember? The soap bubble Where did it disappear to? Where did it vanish? Where did it go? Do you know? Well, I found out what happened I found out It burst like an overfilled balloon It ceased to exist It died That was its fate And, you see, I don't want that to happen To me I don't want to burst into nothing I don't want to evaporate I don't want to fade away Like those bubbles So, in the meantime, I stay Keep away From people that might shatter my defence From thorns that might person the surface From drowning darkness around My chosen prison And I rise, up high in the sky Like the bubbles Soaring away from harsh reality Soaring through a chaotic blur Soaring towards light Towards a new life Towards a place Where I won't have to protect myself Where I won't be forced to lead A life behind glass.

| A Poem Thanks! Another one I believe is sort of fluffy and cute *lol* Say what you think!
:cat: ~~~~~~~~ ~ A Poem ~ It's cute, the way you're looking You think I can't see you Think I'm too engulfed in what I'm doing What I'm writing But I notice I always do I look up and give you a smile Small and weak, it may be But you've been waiting for it all day I know you were Because I was waiting For you to look I'm writing again, but see you still From the corner of my eye You excuse yourself from your friends Make your way over Over to little me The lone girl I grin up at your face, a faint blush Appearing on both our cheeks "What are you writing?" you ask, interested Intrigued, fascinated, somehow "A poem," I answer "Just a poem."

Wow! I love that, really! It captured my attention so well.....it's not so light and fluffy i think...I think it's more emotional than your other ones, if you will. But that's just my opinions ^^

Glad you liked it. I think it's emotional, but kind of cute... I had to grin when I was writing it all the time. Anyway, happy you think it's good.

It's cute, the way you're looking
You think I can't see you
Think I'm too engulfed in what I'm doing
What I'm writing
But I notice
I always do
I look up and give you a smile
Small and weak, it may be
But you've been waiting for it all day
I know you were
Because I was waiting
For you to look
I'm writing again, but see you still
From the corner of my eye
You excuse yourself from your friends
Make your way over
Over to little me
The lone girl
I grin up at your face, a faint blush
Appearing on both our cheeks
"What are you writing?" you ask, interested
Intrigued, fascinated, somehow
"A poem," I answer
"Just a poem." hee hee, this one ^ looks familar.... Quote: Professor Phoenix tied her long her into a bun rather messily to keep it from flying in her face when she was drinking her juice. She looked down the staff table and found Professor Hendrik's gaze resting upon her.
She winked down at him and grinned. Quote: *thinking to himself...*
"was that a wink?? am I blushing??"
Professor Hendrik, realizing that he was infact blushing, attempts to smile back at Professor Phoenix. He then proceeded to dump the contents of his fork down the front of his robes in an attempt to hit his mouth. Extremely embarrassed at this point, he quickly looks away while he cleans his robes. enjoyed your poetry!

Your poems are good. I find them very intriguing. Keep it up. If you are bored, you can read my poems: Christine's Crazy Poems, which are very odd.

Did I mention you two are cute? No idea if you are dating in real life but your characters are
Beautiful, Phoebe! ^^Cute little poem; I liked the Behind the Glass the most. I feel identificated with your case; my shrink is trying to pull me out of my shelter - but I don't want to!!! LOL Beautiful really.
I agree, there's not too much people in here. There's lot of poems without answers... mine as an example (pathetic -__-) That's sad, there's good work in here.
A question: Are you allowed to post this kind of poems? Because I thought it *had* to be Harry Potter related. If it isn't then I'm posting more of my lil strange poems right away! :sorcerer:
See you!

| Over You
Yes, I'm striking again! This poem can be seen as the part II of 'In A While' <IMG class=inlineimg title=">_ *cringe*
And yes, it is personal... it's what I was feeling like today. ~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ Over You ~ So we met again One evening Unprepared, I might add But it's not as if we didn't know That day would come We agreed on it On friendship Not more, I know But it's a hard thing to define After what happened Nobody even noticed Or guessed We acted our roles Nobody would ever have seen If the story hadn't travelled And now I'm here Sitting, thinking Alone, in my room Maybe I'm not fit for that mask I had to wear last night I thought I was over you.

That's a sad thing. Don't get me wrong, it's great to express youserself with poetry, but feel the need to feel down to be able to write it is omewhat deperssing. Poetry is about describing feelings, I suspect ( ) -- my sis is the real expert -- so when you are just *feeling* or meaning to explain a feeling one should (should! Yet it's not like that most of the times) be able to write it down in poetry... Well, again, my sis is the real expert... Oh, I posted some other poems of mine, in the Sphinx & Harpy (which should be a Manticore) 's corner, I would like your opinion on them maybe...
Oh and if you like them wait until you read my sis'
