Ok...here it goes...Enjoy!

Country Grandeur



Upon the home I did reside,

With numerous trees as places to hide



My young spirit ran free

Through the fields as far as I did see



The grass so thick it tickled my toes

Unlike the kind that I now mow



Blazing to my house was a gravel trail,

Full of dips and bumps to venture for mail



Yet, now I walk on a road of concrete

Dark, harsh, and somewhat discreet



To the sound of crickets, my sleep was not deprived

Now, awake in bed with raging traffic outside
