 hello everyone i've been writing poetry for years and now i firgued that others should read them and tell me what they think. no not all of them are going to be works of art to you but to me they are. My heart and soul gos into each one making them different then any others in this poetry section. My name is Leah Mae and im 20 years old i live in Delaware and i love to write poetry. Feel free to pm if you have any questions! well here go's nothing. this first poem is about me.
The gifts i have
The heart and wisdom of a woman
The spirit and imaginationof a child
a soul that wants to be free
a lover that needs to be caught
a fear of falling
a love for exploration and adventure
a sign from the heavens
and a temptation from the devil
that wont work on me
a need to try new things
a fear of being wrong
the angel in me
who wants to fiy away into the sky
the ablity to see the world
the fear of losing it all in a second
the gifts i have

heres another!
Springs Painting
the flowers of spring
are many beautiful but different colors
they arose a sense of warmth in my heart
a feeling of welcome flows through my body
after a long winters nap
a bursting of colors
through out the land
flowers faRer than the eye can see
so delicate and detailed
like a painting in a museum
young and ageless
in that time seems to stand still
these precious jewels of the earth
grace us with the presence
that the god and goddess are still here
showing us the beauty of the earth
making us see springs painting
its their way of showing us a picture
that everyone can enjoy
so we can see
just how beautiful life can be | |

heres a funny one i wrote it cause i was sleepy
sleep
im sitting on the chair
and i start to fall asleep
i realize that im tired
so i head for my room
as i enter the door way
the bed is calling my name
telling me to lay on its cozy surface
my body collapses on the mastress
i get under the covers
making myself warm and relaxed
then slowly i drift off to sleep
having the sweetest of dreams

tis me again glad yall like them! heres another one!
poetry rhythms
its about time
i write a poem that rhythms
i think about it in my mind
as i try to think what to write on every line
i start to write with pen in hand
as i dream of a faraway land
where theres a prince fair and true
but then he leaves and makes my heart turn blue
than i think ill write about hope
but i throw that idea away with the whip of my rope
so i decide to write about trout
but wait, i dont like fish and what there about
those ideas gos down the drain
as i try to rattle my brain
i write things for people to see
even things about little old me
as i sit and think
i try to make my poetry lines link
i look through all the poems in my book
writing this isnt as easy as it looks
i think about what to write really hard
$hit i cant think i feel like such a retard
i guess this means im done
now im going out to have some fun

Under My Tree
the way the wind blows
through my hair
on a crisp autmun day
as the leaves fall
creating a beautiful aray of colors
i feel a sense of freedom
as i wonder aimlessly through my thoughts
wondering how long
i will be at this sweet serenity
of this peace and quiet
not knowing when it will end
hoping that my pains and problems
will be at rest
it's calm and quiet
as i watch the leaves fall from the trees
telling me about their history
their way of life
i sit and hope
that i can stay in this sweet serernity forever
a voice calls my name
and as i get up to leave
i will always remember
the time i spent under my tree

i grew up in
i wont come back
not till i have to

the muesums or schools
i went to
ill put it all behind me
never to think of it again

forgotten
a love thats forbidden
through the begining of time
the love i want
but can't find
ive longed for this person
since i can remember
this person should be with me
and belongs to no one else
why should i suffer
why is are love againest the law
i can say "its not fair"
but where would that get me
"nowhere"
they try to make us forget
but the memorys still linger
like a dark cloud
that stays with you and ruins your day
not me
not this day
i will step forward
and proceed with my life
and if i keep my hopes up
maybe one day
i will forget the love that got away

this one is about the earth
our land
are you a free spirit
like the indians are
can you feel the warmth
of the wind on your face
is nature and the indians
talking to you
telling you about its land
and how precious it is
if your a free spirit
you can hear there voices
telling you about the past
and furture of our land
voices that say
make me proud
and preserve our land
so furture generations
can see its beauty
and use it
as the indians once did
our land is priceless
and we are to
so listen to the voices of the past
and save its land
for the children
for our furture

Thanks for reviewing my poems..."Forgotten" is good, it reminds me of the type I used to write.....no mine aren't all happy and cheerful, if you look closely you can find a deeper angst in them :whisle: ..well, yesh, keep writing! | |
