Welcome to my little section of the SS poetry world. Sit down, have a cup of coffee, and listen to the words as they waft their way through the room. Groovy, daddio.
In my humble (and perhaps misguided) opinion, poetry is emotion in writing. So-- I do hope that you don't judge me too harshly for some of my erm... 'worse poems'.
Okay, I'll start off with a poem I wrote several years ago. It's actually a song that I wrote, but I'm afraid I can't sing it to you through the computer.
Nautica's Maids
Nautica's maids are fair and sleek;
The sea they call their home.
Amid the fish and coral's peak,
Amid the waves and foam.
Their hair is curled, their faces bright,
They swim with shining fins.
They shimmer with amazing light
And so the tale begins.
They dance about in wat'ry pools
And sing enchanting songs.
They swim along with fishes' schools;
That's where the maids belong.
The golden locks upon their heads,
Their eyes so silv'ry bright
Can charm a man to water's beds
To follow their sweet light.
Don't follow maids to beautiful.
Be warned, sea-fairing men,
Though the maids appear so wonderful,
The sea will be your end.
Here's a "poem" that I wrote in frustration over some dumb people that just wouldn't be quiet! Yeah, this one is one of those goofy ones. Forgive it. Hehe.
Silence, Knave!
Silence, Knave!
Speak not; your words are far too bold.
I shall slap thee hotly if you are not silent!
And it is most triumphantly said.
