A Friend

A friend will not talk bad about you,

and never will lie.

Friends are always there for you,

if you need to cry.

Friends will be there for you,

through thick and through thin.

When the rest of the world walks out on you,

a friend will walk in.

I've never felt this way before

It's all brand new to me

My head is spinning, I can't breathe

A light inside of us.

Inside of us there lives a light

Burning like fire in the night.

Gleaming down and lighting the way

For hopes and dreams to shine someday.

It gives us a brilliance to our lives

And sparkles like diamonds

with a glowing light.

So hold out your light,

For all to see,

And never let go.

Deep Inside

Standing on the beach,
Sand between my toes,
What lies in my future?
Who will come and go?
The sun beams down upon me,
as I raise my hand and look
at the vast ocean before me,
It's size which I mistook.
I feel so insignificant,
Comparted to this great espanse.
What difference can I make?
Will I even be given a change?
I realize then while standing there,
That all I have to do,
is listen to my hear,
And it will pull me through
For stregnth and inspiration,
Are not material things,
They come from deep inside of you,
They give your soul it's wings,
So whenever you're in doubt,
And you begin to stray,
Take a look down deep inside,
And the answere will come your way.
If you only belive in yourself,
You can make your dreams come true,
For no one else can do it,
The power must come from you.

Grasping forever more.

Grasping into thin air,
We reach but cannot touch,
Things we wish would go away,
Things that hurt to much
Why do we face such tough times,
While others go unscathed?
Where do we find a shelter
When it rains in on our parade?
Life will give us roses,
But every petal falls
Leaving joy and sadness
From the memories we recall
So if times our greatest treasure
And love is all we need
Lets give each other all we have,
Nothing is guaranteed.

Life Happens.

Bad hair days and mixed up romance
Told there's gooey stuff stuck on your pants
Getting a sister when you wanted a brother
Finding "Life Skills" Is taught by your mother
Slipping, falling, and ripping your jeans
Discovering your sister has ruined your things
Sometimes life gives us days of laughter
and some filled with disaster
Some things happen, that aren't in the plans
We have to roll with it and throw up out hands
What life will bring next is predicted by none
Which makes it exciting, and often more fun.

Changes

In a world filled with changes each N' everyday
I feel I am judged for what I do and what I say
I remember barbies and play days at the park
When I didn't worry about other peoples remarks
But I look in the mirror and see to my suprise
A completly different person,
Staring deep into my eyes
The carefree little child that I saw at 4 or 5
Has now become a teenager,
Learning to survive.

Reaching

I did not struggle as invisible hands pulled me down
I just waited for someone else to pull me out
I wondered why no one did
Finally, I realized others were reaching
They just couldn't reach far enough
And no rope was long enough for me to grab.
So with all of my stregnth,
I started to climb the mountain.
Because I began to realized I was the only one
With a rope long enough to pull me out.

Touch

Our touch was just for a second,
But it seemed like eterinity,
As he offered me the roll,
I accepted it happily and replied with thank you,
I ate the spicy wrap slowly,
And stared into his eyes,
I found out suprised,
I saw him staring back at me,
I was shocked,
Yes very happy,
We left the house sadly,
As we hurried to the car through the rain,
I realized I didn't have his, email, number, or even last name.
It'll be another year before I see him again,
But I'll be happy too,
The moment out fingers touched,
Was the happiest moment, and I'll never forget it.

This one wasn't my greatest..haha.

Let the rain fall down

I stood outside,
looking into the sky,
Wondering if he was looking as well,
I felt the icy rain pour over me,
As I watched the lightning,
And heared the thunder,
I was soaking wet,
And didn't care,
I ran my fingers through my hair,
and I waited,
I let the tears stream down my already wet face,
I frowned,
And whished I'd gotten some info. from him,
I sat down on the wet ground,
I watched the clouds go by,
As I cried to myself,
Until my eyes were red,
Wonding when I'd see him again.

Bully Girl

For a while now she's teased me
I've learned to ignore it
But some things she's said,
Just stay in my head
The looks and the faces,
So mean and unkind,
Bugging me, bothering me,
Scarying my mind,
My life will get better
In the end she will see,
Those things that she said
Brought the stregnth out of me
To stand up to her,
Make her leave me alone,
Then I'll finaly shine,
A light of my own

No matter what Happens

I remember a time when each day was long,
When the world was a playground and my life was a song,
And I fluttered through years with barely a care,
Ignoring the furure and what waited there.

School was intriguing and filled with delights.
I played away daytimes and dreamed away nights.
My parents assured me I had nothing to fear,
And no matter what happened, they'd always be there.

Little I knew of a world outside home,
Where tragedy, sorrow, and murder could roam.
All I saw were blue skies, rainbows and stars.
I looked past destruction of buildings and cars.

As a child, my biggest concern was just me;
I had to be happy, I had to be free.
And if I was content, I would not shed a tear,
And no matter what happened, I still would be here.

But as I grow up, darkness starts to set in;
My bright world has turned into concrete and tin.
I now see the violence I looked past before;
My friends start to die and my heart hits the floor.

Deadly diseases claim people I love,
There are landfills below me, pollution above.
I often think back to when life was a game.
But no matter what happens, it can't be the same.

There are days when I want to break down and holw,
To give up completely, to throw in the towl,
But I hold my head hight and I push my way through.
I have too much to give and so much to do.

And I make a vow that, Thought it'll be hard,
I'll go on with a smile and play every card.
I'll give all I can, help others and love.
No matter what happens, life will bloom again,
And the strength I don't have will come down from above.

So come, take my hand, and through darkness we will sail-
If we all join together, we never can fail.
We'll remember to care, remember to feel,
And no matter what happens, our world we will heal.

A Family

A familys more special than diamonds or jewels
Or money or treasure galore
It's pwer, warmth and comfort
Is something thats not sold in stores
You share love with your family
They are people around you that care
And every day,
From morning to night
You family will always be there.

Woah, I actually forgot I had this thread..but, if you people that read here, want more...Here it is:

A Toast
Raise your glass to the sky
with hopes and dreams held high
To the graduates I toast...

Here's to the friends we've lost and gained,
and the people we'll never know by name.
To the bonds that we've made and the albums that we've filled,
memories may fad but never be killed.

Here's to the phone calls filled with tears,
and to the hours spent talking away our fears.
To the peoplewe thought deserved out hearts,
whom now we bash and rip apart.

Here's to the pictures in frames with stories to say,
that we will be sure to pak when we go away.
To the football games we have watched beneath the light,
and out cheers and chants drifting off into the night.

Here's to proms and dances,
and high-school romances.
To homecomming games,
with all wins in our name.

Here's to late nights we've spend cramming for teast,
and morning where coffee made up for the rest.
To the dances and events we took months to create,
the night before worries that came too late.

Here's to the tears we knew we'd cry,
to the people and places we say good-bye.
To the wild and bizarre things we've done,
that we will remember and be the most fun.

Here;s to the letters we left unsigned,
may our identities be revealed all in due time.
To the relationships we wonder how we ever lived without,
and the crushes we look back on and laugh about.

So now it's time to place out glasses down,
put our caps on and turn our tassels around.
Listen for our name and let them echo through,
and realized how fast these four years just flew.

(No, in case you're wondering, I'm not a HighSchooler.)
