Chapter: Uuuh Uh Uuuuuuuuh *because the song was instrumental without spoken words just weird vocals*

Ottery and the dark cloaked figure leaped forward just in time to miss the boulders crashing behind them. The impact caused an explosion of rock sending tiny shards, a million little pieces, strafing them as they lay on the ground. As the boys looked up, another barrage of arrows flew at them fast. The cloaked boy's hand shot out and his wand stopped the arrows in mid air, there they turned and flung back with equal force at the archers who had fired them.

"I've got seven-league boots," the boy said helping Ottery to his feet.

"So why aren't we in Paris right now?"

"Because I left them at home. But don't worry, these ones are magicked so that they ... oh just watch," with that the boy grabbed Ottery around the waist and leaped.

The group of Death Eaters and triad soldiers watched the boys as they jumped into the air. The boys were flying away. Ottery looked down and saw tiny wings on either side of the boy's boots. Where the devil had Teddy gotten anything like that?

"Look, Teddy, I ..." Ottery stopped mid-sentence when the cloaked figure turned to look at him and the dark haired boy could see that it was not Teddy who had rescued him. It was Angel. That was what Ms. X had meant when she’d said that an angel would come to save him.

“Don’t worry. Now that we’re airborne their spells can’t catch us. And there’s an airship around here somewhere, behind one of these clouds.”

“Put me right back down, Angel. I don’t want you to rescue me. So, just drop me right back down,” the dark haired boy complained, struggling.

“Don’t be such a sore loser, Otts. Consider it a favor, you can pay me back later.” Angel smiled at the boy and winked. Ottery crossed his arms and pouted thinking up a few choice phrases he would like to use on the boy but, not saying them because his mother had taught him not to be an ungrateful brat.

“I told you not to go looking for him,” Lupin remarked handing the boy a cup of tea. “I’m afraid there isn’t--”

The boy took out a tin from his pocket and laid it on the table. On the outside it said, Turkish Delights, and it was shaped like a castle. All around the tin were drawn characters from fairy tales.

“Anything you like … or at least anything they serve at Chez Albert on 4th and …”

The boy stopped, noticing the expression on Remus’ face.

“It’s a kind of open gate to this fancy restaurant. It’s how I get food.” Still, the expression on Lupin’s face did not change. “It’s not stealing, if it’s from the rich,” Nicholas objected.

“This is the kind of thing I’m supposed to expect from you? I’m supposed to trust you, believe you and this is the kind of person you want to be? Nothing more than a common thief? Because, if that’s what you want, I can put you in contact with the man selling your father’s possessions out on street corners.”

Chided Nicholas left the box on the table.

“I was hungry, I had no money and … I didn’t have any friends here in the city.” The boy stared at the carpet on Remus’ floor. It was dingy and old, the design something hideous from a lost age.

“I understand that. Trust me, but … it’s a short step from petty theft, to lying and from that on to worse things. Before you know it you’re a Death Eater.”

“I wouldn’t join those scum if … they killed my father. They took my mother from me.” Nicholas said, standing up and knocking over the chair he had been using.

“I’m sorry Nicholas. But just the same, there are other groups you could join and they’re not much better, whatever goals they may have.” Lupin handed the boy his cup of tea and sat across from him. Nicholas righted his chair and sat.

They sat in silence for a while watching the flames in the fireplace growing and shrinking, the wood crumbling and crackling, giving what little warmth it could.

“He was so angry. He didn’t want me talking about Sirius. He didn’t want to believe that Sirius was my father.”

“I know. He meant a lot to Harry. They were very close to each other,” Lupin replied. He stared into the flames, his eyes lost in memories.

“I’m sure there’s something in the kitchen I can scrounge up,” Nicholas said. “I’m pretty adventurous in the kitchen and if you’re not too picky …” Lupin smiled. “I was a cook before I was a thief,” the boy replied.

AN: Sorry kids, no time for replies, I've fallen so far behind on this fic, not that y'all should worry because I'm still way ahead of y'all but ... the point is I'm not my ten pages ahead of you comfortable that I normally am ... so *fires the cannons for deadlines* Blame it on Love in the time of Whooping Cough or my new one shot which is not up yet and I may have to resubmit because I don't think it went through the first time ... still, it's just a one shot so pop in and pop out ... yeah.



First, the recap ...

Quick RECAP (For those of you who, like Otty, are perpetually late to the party):

Our story finds our intrepid heroine Hermione in the throes of a book on subversive Hogwarts history (which may or may not later come into play). Harry for his part was in the middle of a car chase with Sirius Black his godfather, chasing after some Death Eaters. Their merry chase led them to a neighborhood and a street fight which introduced us to the character of Nicholas Black, Sirius Black's son? (I'm not telling ).

Next, we find Ottery St. Catchpole prisoner of Rodolphus LeStrange in Hong Kong of all places. Lord Voldemort it seems is planning an alliance with the Chinese Magical Triads. Tonks escorts Professor Dumbledore to see a new face in the magical world, a very dangerous face, an old friend ... Sebastian Shaw. They part ways, Dumbledore refusing to accept Sebastian's help because his army employs the same evil tactics that the Death Eaters do.

As if that wasn't enough action to keep you all awake at nights wondering how Ottery's shorts are a horcrux, then I don't how you all sleep at nights? *realizes that sentence makes no sense* Teddy will fire the cannons at anyone who objects. You have been warned.

Meanwhile back at the Burrow, Ron is mooning about love, but for whom? It's too early to tell. When Luna pops up looking for snoozlefoos and a naked werewolf pops up looking for trouble. Harry confronts Nicholas about his identity, and somewhere in Paris a cute boy receives a mysterious phone call about saving an old ... hmm ... (friend? enemy? playful adversary? playful friend?) No, I'm not telling you that either

As if all that wasn't more plot than most episodes of Hannah Montana, we turn our eyes back to Ottery who receives a late night dinner guest in his cell, a girl he knows, but who mysteriously stops him from uttering her name before we can learn it. Dang you Ottery, and dang your pov!

Professor Snape gets a curious visitor in the form of Professor Dumbledore who informs him that HE will be the new DADA teacher :simm: ... major wowage didn't see that one coming did ya?

Harry contemplates the news of Nicholas Black and wonders whether or not it is true. NOTE: We still don't know this to be fact. Death Eaters openly attack and kill a wizard with a muggle family labeling him a blood traitor. News of Sebastian Shaw's return spreads but, as of yet he has not acted.

Teddy flying over the city on a steam powered zeppelin confers with Tiffany, Ottery's secretary, that Sebastian is on the loose, Ottery's missing and Angel is on the prowl, though for what exactly I won't say. So don't ask Tiffany refuses Teddy's advances. *Pets Teddy*

Harry and Nicholas run into each other on the street and they have a war of words. Harry doesn't want to believe that Nicholas is Sirius' son. Is he?

Nymphadora *gets stunned* I mean, Tonks and Lupin have a quiet chat at Cafe Mondrian about their 'not-happening-romance' which is funny because their vibes say otherwise. Meanwhile, right outside the cafe the Abbot & Costello of Death Eaters try to take Nicholas hostage. As you all surely remember, that didn't work out so well for them.

A flying car and some broken walls later, I wrote Kelly a poem here if you missed it Ron and Luna lose Maxie Zeus, the naked werewolf boy y'all remember? They wake up the Burrow and Fleur antagonizes Mama Weasley while flirting with Bill. Ron writes a letter and Luna and Ginny plan to save the day and Harry Potter in the mix.

Ottery is about to be executed when lo and behold Teddy appears ... or so everyone thinks. Harry is still losing sleep over the whole Nicholas is he or isn't he? When he's woke up by the arrival of the Harry Potter Rescue Squad comprised of :luna: and Ginny who still doesn't have a smilie. We return to Ottery's triumphant rescue where Teddy is still not saving his but, there's the boulders, will they get away?

Narcissa slaps Sebastian and it is revealed that ... they were once lovers. OMG!

Teddy blows up stuff in his search for Ottery. While Luna declares that even though it's not Waffle House they make good waffles. Hermione noticing Ron being all attentive of Luna tries to make him jealous by stating how they (Ottery & Luna) were having 'dinner' together but it backfires. In an attempt to aid her friend, Ginny points out that Hermione got kissed by Ottery (they're trying to make me look like I'm easy ) Ron is not dissuaded and Hermione points out OTTERY did the kissing. Yup, he's a slag alright.

Death Eaters ruin the party and it turns out Maxie Zeus, our naked werewolf boy is in the mix. A Death Eater you say? There's more here than meets the eye. Obi Wan K'Lari tries to use the force on Ottery and there are Breakfast Club references a-go-go.

Ottery's rescue continues, boy that was a long rescue and Ottery's true champion is revealed to be none other than Angel who has had past entanglements with Ottery but as to what nature at present I am not at liberty to divulge Just already

Si shows up Hey Si, & the story continues with Lupin and Nicholas sitting down for dinner, Nick is staying at his friend's Lupin's house and he gets chided for a bit of thievery.

And that was our last post *gasps and dies of all the recappery*

And now on Ottery's Human Nature ... *the hair on the back of Otty's neck is all a tingle* Uh, uh, uh, STILL more action and adventure just you watch.

They were surrounded by Death Eaters, there was no question of that.

They were outnumbered by Death Eaters that was indisputable.

Between Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, and Luna there group were five, while Bellatrix stood flanked by three goons propitiously covering the front door. Greyback, a wall of a man, muscled and scary and the traitor werewolf boy stood blocking the exit. That made it … *Otty checks his math* seven Death Eaters against five members of Dumbledore‘s Army.

“What are we going to do now?” Ron asked Harry in a whisper.

Hermione pushed past Ron and Harry and stood before the tall man blocking their exit, a man who most resembled a wall. Her eyes staring forward came up to his chest. Hermione looked up.

“You can’t seriously mean to start a fight here. This is a muggle establishment.”

In response Bellatrix pointed her wand at the waitress. “Imperio!”

“Well that answers that,” Ron said smiling nervously and punching the Wall in the chest. “Ouch!” Ron clutched his bruised knuckles.

“Not like that Ron, like this,” Hermione remarked and brought her knee up between the man’s legs.

“Nice try doll,” the Death Eater replied, blocking Hermione’s kick with his hand. “But I wasn’t born yesterday.”

“Neither was I, and I’m not a doll,” Hermione shot back kicking him in the shins.

The Wall screamed and fell on the floor. Greyback stepped forward and slapped Hermione across the face and Ron cast a spell that sent the rude werewolf crashing into an empty booth at the back of the café.

Watching the violence ensuing, and the magic that had caused Greyback to fly across the café, people started running out of the building. Bellatrix and her Death Eaters tripping some of them on the way out, for fun, laughing as the muggles screamed in terror.

“If that’s how you want to play it Bellatrix,” Harry said angrily taking his wand out. “Avada K--” Ginny slapped Harry, hard across the face, then proceeded to fire a hex at Bellatrix.

Bellatrix’s minions rushed Harry and his friends. As two of them came at Luna she screamed like someone had struck her, and the two Death Eaters coming at her stopped and stared in surprise.

“Got ya.” Luna said and confounded one while knocking the other one on his bum with a moving spell.

Hermione, having recovered from the slap, used her wand to fling salt shakers, and bottles of ketchup and mustard at Greyback and the werewolf boy who were coming at her and Ron.

“Keep them off their feet,” Hermione yelled, “otherwise they’re going to … ah!” She screamed in pain as she felt a bolt of lightning strike her hand, still Hermione gripped her wand tightly. Bellatrix cackled, and Harry and Ginny kept firing at her and the man standing next to her but they deflected their curses as if they were swatting aside flies.

“This is getting us nowhere,” Ron said sending curses to the werewolf boy, who kept throwing them back.

“If you’ve got a suggestion I’m open to it!” Harry yelled ducking behind the café counter.

“I do,” Hermione broke in. “Let’s get out of here.”

“Fine,” Ron said, “How?”

“On my mark, rush the back door!” Ginny cut in.

“Fine. Now!” Luna said, and with that Hermione blasted the light fixtures on the ceiling. Before the Death Eaters knew what was happening Harry and his companions rushed Bellatrix and her lone companion.

“Ouch, you inflated … what cheeky little ... Who pinched my bum?” Bellatrix howled, and then laughed.

It was an old rule of the members of Dumbledore’s Army that whenever they should find themselves in a firefight, whatever suggestions anyone made aloud, the others would do the opposite. Seriously, would you yell out your battle plans out loud in the middle of a fight?

Our heroes finding themselves outside on the street all turned and readied their wands to hex whoever came out of the café first. To their sad surprise the Death Eaters apparated behind them.

“You kids really are gullible, you know that?” the werewolf boy remarked.

Luna slapped him hard across the face, and he pushed her back into Ron, causing both of them to fall on the floor. Pointing his wand at them, he threatened, “Stay down, or else.”

Bellatrix had Ginny by the wrist, the young girl was holding her wand trying desperately to fire a hex at the witch. Harry for his part had his arms pinned back by The Wall, and Greyback had his wand pointing at Hermione as did the other three Death Eaters.

“You think you’re so smart don’t you?” Bellatrix exclaimed looking at Hermione. “Here take this one,” she said to one of the Death Eaters and shoved Ginny her way, having taken her wand from her.

“Leave her alone!” Ron exclaimed from where he sat on the ground helping Luna to sit up.

“Oh, I’ll get to you in a second, brain boy. Don’t think I’ve forgotten you from the Ministry. Don’t think I’ve forgotten any of you,” she said with menace.

“Really Mrs. Lestrange, is this the best place to torture these …” before he could finish his comment he was on his knees crying out in pain as Bellatrix used the Cruciatus curse on him.

She turned to Hermione then and did the same. As Hermione screamed Ron stood up but was attacked by the werewolf boy, his body covered in cuts his cries of pain joined Hermione’s.

“Stop it, please,” Luna screamed, “Please,” looking at the werewolf boy who only smiled with a dedicated glee.

The Wall kicked Harry in the knees and he fell to the ground, the Death Eater pushing his face onto the wet asphalt. Ginny looking on helplessly wished there was something to do.
