Lily and James were meant for eachother. Lily just has to accept the fact that he's not going to change. Even though he would, if that's what she really wanted.

Alice and Frank are like my new favorite people. I never really pictured Alice as a giggler, but it fits her well! It just shows how much she really loves Frank. How can they not be officially boyfriend/girlfriend yet?! It's outrageous!!

Anyways, I really do hope you post soon! I want to find out what happens next!

Okay, so I'm going to post, no matter how bad my post is. It's been ages since I last posted, I just keep putting it off. =(

I doodled on my parchment as Professor Bins droned on, making his boring topic seem even more so. Not too far away, Alice had taken the opportunity to repeatedly nudge Frank, who was trying not to appear annoyed as he listened to the Professor’s lecture.

“Ouch! Alice, stop it,” he finally cried crossly as she nudged him for the hundredth time. She stopped immediately, but an hour later that was still the most exciting thing that had happened.

“You’re as likeable as the Giant Squid,” Alice told Frank as the bell rang and he gathered his things, her arms folded across her chest. “In fact you aren’t even that likeable.” Frank slung his bag over his shoulder. “Look, I said I’m sorry. Really. I was trying to get his stupid lecture in my head. And I’ve got to dash now. For Arithmancy. Bye,” he hurried away.

From the corner of my eye, I watched them, shaking my head. I’ve never understood why they like each other so much – Frank Longbottom, the sober, solemn, serious one and Alice Blake, the girly, giggling, happy-go-lucky. Opposites attract, I guess.

“They’re as different from one another as possible, aren’t they?” Sirius said, as if interpreting my expression. I spun around to see that he had been watching me and my insides squirmed, not unpleasantly though. “Yeah, they are,” I said, nodding. “Mind if we go to Arithmancy together? James and Remus have Muggle Studies first,” Sirius asked.

The colour rushed to my face and I swallowed. “I’d love to,” I said. But at that moment, someone called my name from the other side of the classroom. “Serene! Serene!” I saw my brother coming towards me, his chocolate brown hair looking very wind-swept.

“You didn’t even meet me last night,” he said, pretending to be offended. I smiled at him. “I guess I got carried away by – err – other things, Aaron” I said. From the corner of my eye, I was sure I could see Sirius lips curving ever so slightly. I couldn’t’ believe that I had actually let “other things” carry me away – Aaron and I are usually inseparable at Hogwarts. He’s a Ravenclaw and I’m a Gryffindor, which is a bit of a problem but we love each other like hell. We’ve done everything together, shared everything with each other.

“Well, I insist you go with me to Arithmancy,” Aaron said. My spirits sank. But I knew I couldn’t say no. “Ermm…Sorry, Sirius,” I said. Aaron looked puzzled. Then comprehension dawned on his face. “Were you and Sirius going together?” He asked. I nodded. “Oh,” he said. “I’m really sorry – I didn’t know. See you then, Serene,” he said quickly, turning to go. Suddenly, I felt very guilty. Very. I caught hold of his arm.

“You aren’t going anywhere without me, Mister,” I told him, standing on tiptoe to kiss his cheek. “Sirius, you don’t mind, do you?” I asked, looking at Sirius and feeling butterflies twittering madly in my stomach. Sirius shook his head. “Not at all,” he said, grinning. “I know you two are undividable.” He went over to Lily and the two left together. I watched them go and actually felt a pang of loss.

“I’m so sorry, Serene,” Aaron repeated. “I always ruin it for you, don’t I?” He said sadly. I turned around and a genuine smiled crossed my features. “No you don’t,” I told him. “You make my day.” We stood there for a moment in complete silence.

“Were you two thinking of leaving without me?” Ronnie thundered from behind.

Lily lay in the Hospital Wing, Madam Pomfrey fussing over her. She couldn’t believe this had happened. She’d gone to the Hospital Wing after classes had ended and Madam Pomfrey were now insisting that she stay in the Hospital Wing overnight, as well as the day after. She would miss her classes and she would spend a boring time in there, seeing that none of her friends knew she was there. They would probably think that she was too immersed in her “Head Girl duties” to even come and meet them once a day. She sighed and lay back on her pillow, preparing herself for a monotonous time.

Several hours passed and Madam Pomfrey retired to her office. Lily adjusted her pillow and sat up, even though the nurse had tried her best to impress upon her that sitting or walking now could do her great harm. She gazed absent-mindedly out of the window. Pale blue clouds were wandering about the sky. It was nearing evening. She heard the door creak open and someone entered the hospital Wing. She slowly looked around to see – Who else but James Potter?

“Hi Lily,” He said brightly, replacing the flowers in the vase on her bedside table with fresh ones that he carried in his hand. Not again, she thought dully. He would probably have searched the whole castle for her and finally found her there. Great, just great. Now she was stuck with him.

“What?” She asked, trying not to sound rude. “I thought you might be here,” James said. “How ingenious of you,” she said sarcastically. “Erm…I was worried about you,” he said with another stab at conversation. “Yeah, right,” she said, beginning to feel seriously annoyed. She sat up straighter.

“You shouldn’t sit,” he pointed out. She frowned. “Mr. Potter, let me make one thing very clear to you,” She said, scowling, her brows puckered. “I don’t go out with people who love to injure others and inflict pain upon them. Give up already.”

For a moment James was quiet. He looked almost offended. “So you suppose I came here to ask you out?” He asked after a while, unable to conceal the hint of offence in his tone. Lily gave him a look that clearly said “Yes” but did not speak. She didn’t want to get into another fight with him. James sighed.

“You’ll never get it,” he said slowly, standing up. “You never will. I really was worried about you, Lily.” He stopped and at her through his hazel eyes and shook his head. And she believed him, even if she didn’t say it. “There was something about his look that touched her. “There’s more to me than you may think,” he added. “But if I annoy you I guess I had better leave…” He turned to go and she suddenly realized that she didn’t want him to. He really did seem worried about her, she thought. More worried than anyone else had ever been…

“Erm…well whenever you do talk to me, it’s always about going out with you,” she said very quietly. “So I thought…” She trailed off, not knowing what else to say, looking visibly upset that he was going away. James turned back, smiling bitterly. “Good night then,” he said, heading towards the door. She wanted him to stay but she didn’t have the courage to tell him. He was at the door before she had expected.

“James?” she said slowly. He turned, looking intently at her. “I – err…. Are you going?” she asked, not sure what to say. “You….you can stay….can’t you?” Something of a smile crossed his face. “Of course I can,” he said. Their eyes locked and she blushed. “Thanks – I can really do with some company.”

Now, I'm back on Ecstasy for good, and I'm never going to leave this palce again, if I can help it. All I can say right now is that I love you people for all your support, and for staying here while I, myself, was not. Thanks a lot for everything.
