|  Danger! Here is posted a very dangerous chapter... lol (kidding)
Hey everyone! I'm really sorry it took me such a long time to post this chapter. I have no excuses so the blame is all on me!
Well anyway... Here is the next chapter! (Finally! lol hehe)
Chapter six: ~ A Malfoy Problem ~
The next morning Hermione woke up early so she could leave the room without being noticed or seen by Malfoy.
She rummaged through her messy trunk looking for brand new robes. She decided not to shower when Malfoy was around. Even if he was sleeping it was a risk of being seen somehow, you can never know when it comes to magic, but she made a mental note for herself to check the library for any enchantments to put on a bathroom.
When she finally applied some makeup and did her hair into a messy bun, she took her book bag and went to do her homework that she had not done yet in the library. When she had got to the library she pushed the door open but it wouldn’t budge. "It's probably not open yet," she muttered while hitting the door in frustration. It was no use waiting for it to open so she marched down to the Great hall for breakfast.
The Great Hall was practically empty except for a couple of students here and there at each table. She took a seat all the way down at the Gryffindor table and grumpily laded her plate with some salad and toast. She gobbled the food down in just a matter of minutes and washed it down with some pumpkin juice. When she drunk the last drop of it, she gathered up her stuff and rushed out of the great hall down to the lake so se could finally do her homework and "not fail this year," as she always says.
When she walked through the front doors she smelled the fresh air and was glad for such nice weather. She felt like running towards the lake and feel the wind beating on her. She looked around and made sure no one was outside before lifting her arms into the air and running down the hill over to the lake. She sat against her favorite tree and pulled out her charms book and read the home work.
"Write a ten inch essay on how to perform a freezing charm.” She smiled to herself at how simple that was going to be. She pulled out her ink, parchment and quill, and set off to work. When she was done, she opened her Defense against the Dark Arts and when she didn't find anything she realized that they only had charms yesterday since potions were canceled. "I really need to start getting a little more organized, this whole Malfoy thing is ruining my life!" she thought angrily.
Sighing, she put all her books neatly back into her bag and headed to her first class; Herbology. She walked across the grounds towards the green houses but stopped suddenly when she heard angry voices. She turned around and ran to where the voices were coming from. It was coming from the dark forest, she quickly ran over and stopped when she recognized the two voices, they were arguing, one was a boys voice and the other was a girls voice who was clearly crying. Now she could hear their voices much clearer.
"Draco, you can't!" Parkinson cried.
"Then what do you want me to do? It's the only way!" yelled Malfoy.
"Please, Draco, you have to listen to me, there's got to be another way!" she pleaded.
"Well there isn't! If I don't do it, I will be killed, you heard him didn't you?" but there was no response, Pansy Parkinson just wailed louder.
Hermione couldn’t believe what she was hearing. But before she could think about anything to say to them, she realized she was late for Herbology. She quickly ran towards Green house number twelve and opened the door.
"You’re late Miss Granger," said professor sprout.
"I know...I had something to do... I won't be late again," she said losing confidence.
"Well, since it's our first class I will let you off today but I don’t want this to happen again." Hermione nodded and went to stand between Harry and Ron. They each gave her curios looks and she gave them the I-will-explain-later look.
The rest of lesson passed pretty fast. Hermione wasn't really concentrating on what Professor Sprout was saying, she was thinking about Malfoy’s and Parkinson's argument. It troubled her, "what was it that Malfoy had to do?" she asked herself, "Last year, his mission was to kill Dumbledore, or, he was threatened, his whole family would be killed...What was it this time?"
"Hermione! Are you there?" a voice asked, bringing her out of her thoughts.
"Wh- what?" she asked puzzled.
“Class is over, you’ve really been day dreaming,” said Ron, “Let’s go, we have a free period now, what do you say we head out and sit by the lake?”
“Sure,” said Hermione, glancing nervously at Harry, “let’s go!” So Hermione, Harry and Ron grabbed their book bags and the three headed towards their favorite spot by the lake.
“So,” said Harry, “how’d it go last night?”
“Don’t ask, It was a nightmare!” said Hermione.
“What happened?” asked Ron nervously, his ears slightly red.
“Well,” began Hermione, “When McGonagall left, I walked in and he threw something at me. He said it was my entire fault he was stuck with me. And boy, the way he acted, you’d think he was trying to kill me!”
“That wouldn’t be a first,” muttered Ron.
“But Hermione,” said Harry puzzled, “Why were you late to Herbology this morning?”
“You won’t believe who I bumped into on my way to the green house!” and she told them all what she had heard. When she finished, Ron stared at her opened mouth.
“I bet You-Know-Who told him to kill Harry for him,” said Ron.
“No Ron, You-Know-Who wants to kill Harry himself,” said Hermione.
“Ok,” said Harry annoyed, “while you fight over who’s going to kill me I’ll just start on my Herbology homework.”
“You’re right,” Hermione quickly said, “I’m sorry Harry.”
“Maybe Voldemort want’s Malfoy to help him get into the castle,” tried Harry.
“Maybe…” said Hermione, lost in thought.
“Hey, I’ve got a great way how to find out what he’s up to,” said Ron.
“And what’s that, Ron?” asked Hermione.
“You,” he pointed at Hermione, “you have to make Malfoy like you enough to trust you and then somehow, he’ll tell you what he has to do!” said Ron excitedly. Hermione rolled her eyes.
“Yeah, that’s a great idea, make him like you. Jinx him or something,” said Harry.
“Forget it, I won’t do it!” said Hermione.
“Come on,” said Ron.
“Find someone else to do it and besides, Malfoy would never fall in love with someone like me!” said Hermione madly.
“What if-” said Ron.
“Look, just drop it okay?” said Hermione.
“We better go, we’ve got Transfiguration in ten minutes,” said Harry, and him, Ron and Hermione got up and walked across the grounds toward the castle for their next class.
