Soon enough, Albus had experienced the tour of the common room (and of course how to get there), and had entered his dorm. He looked around for which bed was his so he could unpack and saw his snowy owl, Hedwig, who was named after his Dad’s owl.

“Hey.”

Albus glanced around to see who had spoken and saw a boy across the room, smiling at Al. “Oh, hi,” Albus said, but couldn’t say anything more because at that moment the door opened and two boys came in. “Hi,” Albus said again, but this time to the new boys. “I’m-” Once again, the door opened and in came another boy (who was rather short), looking rather shabby and untidy.

“Hi, I’m Albus,” Al managed to say. “But you guys can call me Al.” He smiled.

“I’m Arthur,” Said the shabby boy, smiling.

“I’m Jacob,” The first boy said, running a hand through his hair, which was as dark as Al’s. “You can call me Jake, though.”

“I’m Robert,” A boy with blonde hair said.

“But call him Bobby,” Said his friend with a laugh.

“Hey!” Robert exclaimed. “Fine, call that idiot Kevin. He was an accident and his parents abandoned him as a baby because he was so ugly.”

“They did not!” ‘Kevin’ cried. “I’m not Kevin, I’m Ka-”

“You’re Kevin, get over it,” Robert said, giving his friend a gentle shove.

“Don’t shove me!” Kevin exclaimed, giving Robert a bigger shove. As the two boys were fighting, Albus edged over to Arthur and Jake, smiling at them. “Nice to meet you guys. You excited?”

They both nodded, but Jake said, “I’m excited, but only little because it’s school. I mean, how boring.”

“Yeah, but think if we were muggles – then school would really be boring.” Al replied. The others nodded in agreement and I smiled. “My Dad went to a muggle school before he came to Hogwarts and he says that it was horrible.”

Arthur shifted uncomfortably at the sound of Al talking about his Dad. “Um, may I ask you something?” He asked quietly.

“Sure,” Albus replied, a little confused and unsure about what the question would be.

“Are- are you Albus…P- Potter?” Arthur stammered. “And i- is your Dad…Harry Potter?”

“Uh… yeah,” Albus replied, surprised. “How did you know?”

“You look very like him. Your father that is,” Arthur said. “Except, no scar, of course.”

Albus forced a smile, and then said, “So what school did your parents go to?” Anything to change the subject would be good.

“Hogwarts,” Jake replied. “They were in Gryffindor and Ravenclaw.”

“Mine went to Hogwarts too, both in Gryffindor,” Albus said, then looked at Arthur for his reply.

“My parents went to a school in America,” Arthur said slowly.

“Hey, wow,” Jake said. “That’s really cool. How come you don’t have an accent?”

Arthur simply shrugged and said, “We should probably go to bed now. It’s our first day at school tomorrow and we don’t want to make a bad first impression by coming late, do we?”

“I guess not,” Al replied.

That was so good! Pams!!! ASAP!!! I cant wait for more!

oh, yay! Albus is making friends! Why doesn't Arthur have an accent? hmmm...well, that's something to think about during math class...

Um, no. Speaking of Neville...

The next day, the sun shone brightly, causing the Great Hall to let off a golden glow as Albus and Rose ate their breakfast, talking about what had happened so far. Rose had met a great group of girls, their names Albus hardly listened to, and Al in turn shared information about his roommates.

“Guys!”

The two friends looked up to see Matt rushing over to them. He sat down at the Gryffindor table opposite them and said, “Have you had fun so far?” And, without waiting for their reply, continued to speak, “I have. The Hufflepuffs are awesome – I reckon I’m in the best house, but then again, I haven’t really experienced the other houses, so I’m not sure.”

“Great to hear,” Rose said, smiling. “Gryffindor is fun too, and I think the whole password thing is exciting.”

“Yeah, I agree. Where’s your common room?” Matt said.

“The seventh floor,” Albus replied. “What about you?”

“In the basements.”

“Hello, kids,” Said a voice behind Al. He turned and saw the same professor that led them into the hall last night. “I have your timetables. Now, if I remember correctly, you are Albus Potter,” he gestured at Al, then at Rose, “and you are Rose Weasley. Correct?”

They both nodded and he handed them their timetables from a stack of parchment he was holding. He glanced at Matt and said, “Weren’t you sorted into Hufflepuff?”

“Yes, sir,” Matt said, nodding. “Can’t you sit at other tables where your friends are?”

“Oh, we encourage house interaction actually,” The man said. “Now your name was… Matthew Stratchey, wasn’t it?”

“Yep,” Matt said. The man nodded and walked across to the Hufflepuff table where another man was, but Albus, Rose, and Matt were hardly watching. They were all fussing over the timetables. “What have you got first?” Matt asked.

“Herbology,” Albus replied. “With Neville!”

“You mustn’t call him that here. He’s Professor Longbottom,” Rose said. “I have Herbology first too. Hey, look at that! We have identical timetables.”

“Awesome,” Albus said. “Thank Merlin for that – I’d hate to have no friends in my classes.”

“Oh, come on, you’d make friends easily, Al,” Rose said, but couldn’t say anything more because at that moment the man with the timetables arrived again.

“Here you are,” He said, handing a timetable to Matt, and then he continued to move on along the table.

As soon as Matt looked at the timetable his face fell. “I have Charms first,” he said.

“That’s not bad,” Albus said.

“But it’s not Herbology, so I won’t be with you guys.”

“Oh,” Albus said, looking apologetically at Matt. “I’m sorry, Matt, I really am. I was looking forward to having classes with both of you. But, you’ll still have the people in your dorm, won’t you?”

“I guess,” Matt grunted. “I’ve got Transfiguration second, what about you guys?”

“Astronomy,” Rose replied. “Well, we can still meet up in break. How about the courtyard?”

“Alright. I guess you’re right – I’ll make friends in my own house,” Matt said. “I guess I’ll make friends with the other houses I’ll be having classes with too.”

“Well, we better get going,” Al said. “It’s nearly class time.”

Aw, poor Matt. He seems like the lonely type of kid I was in grade school...just a couple of friends, and usually gets separated and is all lonely and sad and knows he's supposed to make new friends but doesn't really want to...He'll grow out of it like me, right? I hope he grows out of it, Matt is cool. good post. PAMS!

Aaaaw!!! That's so sad... he's all alone...

Here's the next part:

Albus walked outside with Rose to the greenhouses. There were other Gryffindor and Ravenclaw first-years heading in the same direction, and Al didn’t know what to expect about anything. Not how nice everyone would be, how the teachers would treat him, how much he’d be bullied, how well he’d do in the classes, and so much more.

“Poor Matt,” Rose said, breaking the silence. “The sorting hat said he had Gryffindor in him, so it really is unfortunate he didn’t get sorted in our house.”

“Yeah,” Albus said. “But I’m sure he’ll make other friends. I really am.”

They reached the greenhouses and walked into the third one, as the timetables told them to do. Once they walked in, they immediately saw Neville at the opposite end the greenhouse, standing at the end of a long table with many stools around the edges. Albus and Rose hurried over to Neville and said, “Hello!”

“Hey, guys. How are you?” Neville said, looking down at the pair with a wide grin.

“Great!” Al said, returning the grin.

“Good thanks, Professor,” Rose said. “How are you?”

“I’m excellent – very excited about a new year,” Neville replied. “Are your parents well?”

The nodded and Albus asked, “What are we doing today?”

“Just a bit of an introduction,” Neville said. “You’ll find out what else we’ll be doing if you sit down so we can start.” He winked.

Al and Rose sat down on the nearest stools, looking up at Neville in unison with the rest of the class.

“Welcome everyone to Hogwarts!” Neville exclaimed to the class. “I am Professor Longbottom and I, of course, teach Herbology. Herbology is a fantastic subject and it’s something you can study for all your years at Hogwarts. It’s very interesting and most of it will be practical, hardly any theory because theory… well, it kinda smells funny.”

Everyone laughed and a few whispers broke out amongst friends.

“Alright, everyone, attention back to me!” Neville continued to talk. “Now, I have a few rules like every professor does. These are to respect the environment, teacher, and your classmates, work soundly and safely, follow my instructions, don’t touch anything in Greenhouse 2, and best of all: have fun!

“I’m afraid I am horrible at remembering names, so I will call the roll and I’ll put your name down on this sheet.” He waved a piece of parchment around and said, “I’ll put your name where you are sitting and you’ll have to sit in that same spot each time we have Herbology until I’ve matched the names with the faces. So, make sure you’re sitting next to a friend!”

He called out the register and marked off everyone’s names, and then said, “Well, because of the introduction, we don’t have any time to do a prac today, but that’s okay because I try to make theory work as fun as possible! Al, could you hand out these textbooks?”

Albus nodded and took the textbooks Neville gave him, then handed one to each student, including himself.

“The textbooks Albus is handing out are your very own to keep. I didn’t put them on your booklist because there are plenty of them here at Hogwarts and I, unlike other professors, care about the unnecessary money you guys pay at Flourish and Blotts.” He smiled and once Al sat back down, he continued to speak, “Now everyone, turn to page 4…”

D) I was randomly scrolling up and down on a page, and I saw Albus on the side and was like YAy!

THat was a good chapter, like ^^that one^^ said. I like Neville, he's the coolest ever. Cooler than anyone, ask anyone. PAMS!!!
