Hey guys here is the long awaited post - so sorry it took so long - I have been really busy this week.

Chapter 16 – Draco’s Disbelief

“I ran down the staircases just avoiding them changing in order to find Draco. I was so pleased that Ron and Harry were prepared to give me and Draco a chance together. Correction…..I was ecstatic that they were willing to let us prove our love for each other. I was out of breath now but I didn’t stop or slow down I kept running in search of Draco – I just had to find him!! I longed to look deep into his gorgeous grey eyes, to be held by him, to kiss him……but importantly to hear those three small but most important words…….I love you. I wanted to hear that he still loved me and hoped he could find it in his heart to forgive my absolute wreckless behaviour. The way I have treated him in the last few weeks is just totally unbearable to think about. I hoped that he would open his arms to me when I tell him that I have been so stupid and that I want to be with him…….forever.”

“Finally I found him after what seemed like hours of searching. I found him sitting outside by a large tree on the grounds. I walked up quietly behind him and asked….. Can I sit down? He was startled by my appearance. After a little while of him just looking at me he said….”

“Ok.”

“I sat beside him keeping very still and quiet for a few minutes and finally he asked….”

“What are you doing here Hermione?”

“Well I just wanted to talk to you…..I wanted to say sorry.”

“For what?”

“I’m saying sorry for the way I have been treating you in the last few weeks.”

“Hermione it doesn’t matter…..I’m not exactly a saint myself.”

“Well no…but still it doesn’t justify the way I have treated you…..I shouldn’t have toyed with you feelings bringing you up then putting you down. It wasn’t right. I’m truly sorry Draco.”

“Don’t worry about it Hermione, we can’t just put it behind us.”

“I have other things I want to say to you. I have been speaking to Ron and Harry and…..well they said they don’t have a problem about us being together.”

“Ok.”

“Is that all you can say? I asked angrily.”


“Well what do you want me to say Hermione? That I’m glad you want to be with me now after playing games with me for the last month? Were on, then off, then on and then off for good and now you want me back because you f*****g friends have agreed to it!!! Real love is about the heart not the brain!!! I just can’t keep going like this Hermione. It's bloody ridiculous!!”

“Ron and Harry are my life too!!!! I want them to be happy. I can’t stand upsetting them!!”

“So you would rather than your friends are happy than be with me!! That says it all Hermione!!! You don’t love me, you never did!!! I’m just a little fling, you keep throwing me in the deep end, then you come back and make it all sunshine and roses, you raise my hopes and then dash them. You keep breaking my heart Hermione and your doing it again, your making it too difficult for both of us to handle!”

“Draco don’t be stupid!! Of course I love you!!”

“I tried to touch his face to make him see how sorry I was and to show how much I loved him. But he backed away and stood up shouting…..”

“NO YOU DON’T!!! I CAN’T BELIEVE THAT I MEAN ANYTHING TO YOU!! I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN FROM THE START THAT THIS WOULD NEVER HAVE WORKED OUT. THE PROBLEM HERE IS THAT I LOVE YOU TOO MUCH!! YOU COULDN’T STOP THINKING ABOUT HURTING RON!! I UNDERSTAND THAT HERMIONE!! I DIDN’T WANT TO CAUSE TROUBLE FOR YOU OR POTTER OR EVEN WEASLEY!!!! RON AND HARRY MEAN TOO MUCH TOO YOU AND IF ANYTHING GETS IN THE WAY AGAIN YOU’LL MOVE AWAY AND I GET HURT YET AGAIN!! THEN YOU’LL COME BACK AND PULL ME IN AGAIN ANXIOUSLY WAITING FOR THE NEXT BLOW, BUT ALSO REMEMBERING JUST TO ENJOY THE TIME WE HAVE TOGETHER BEFORE IT HAPPENS ALL OVER AGAIN!!!”

“Draco I……”

“Look Hermione…..I’m not doing it anymore. I don’t want to be a toy you can play with whenever you feel you need it.”

“But Draco….you don’t understand I do need you……I love you more than you could ever know. I won’t leave you ever again. I promise I won’t!”

“You love me? Are you sure? I don’t think you know what you want or need Hermione. I can’t trust your word anymore, I can’t trust your words anymore, and I can’t believe that you will never leave me. You done it so many times that I have lost count. I want to be with you believe me I do.”

“Then why can’t you?!”

“Weren’t you listening?! I don’t trust you and love without trust is no use to anyone. Another is I don’t believe that you love me like you say you do. There is no relationship when only one of us truly loves the other.”

“But I do!!!”

“Just p**s off back to your beloved friends Hermione, go and ask them want they want you to do next.”

“Draco walked off leaving me, feeling hurt. But I think everything he had said was true. Why should he come back after the way I have treated him? He can’t trust that I will stay because I do run at the first sign of trouble. But he was wrong about one thing at least and I can’t believe that he couldn’t see it through my eyes, the way I looked at him should have told him that I loved him. I did love him. But I didn’t deserve the love he gave in return. It’s my fault that all of this is a mess. There’s nothing I can do now, Draco doesn’t want to know me. I don’t blame him; I don’t really want to know me either.”

Chapter 17 – Ron’s Decision.

“Hermione what’s wrong?” Ron asked

“I was still sitting by the tree where Draco had left me. I had not moved from that spot since Draco left. I think that was about 4 hours before. I was just sitting there crying (again), wanting so much for Draco to come back and make it all better, I wanted him to forgive me!!! “Draco please come back to me.” I was whispering. Ron then sat beside me pulling my dripping wet face up from my knees to make me look at him.”

“Hermione tell me what happened.”

“He didn’t want to know!! He doesn’t want anything to do with me anymore!! I sobbed.”

“Why?”

“He is so sure that you and Harry are interfering in everything and I follow on mucking him about all the time!!!! He thinks I don’t love him and I do everything that you and Harry do – he thinks I’m not my own person!! What can I do?! He’s right about everything!”


“No Hermione. He’s not. In fact I think he is so stupid. He’s giving up the most amazing thing in the world because of fear of getting hurt again!! Wasn’t that what he was preaching to you? Risk everything for love is what he said and yet he’s running from his own words. Hermione none of this is your fault ok, it’s mine. I have been controlling over Draco and you. It’s only because I care about you so much. I hated to see you with him. I never thought he was worthy of you. I don’t think anyone is worthy of you Hermione, but I thought I was the luckiest guy in the world when you gave me a chance to be with you. I blew it and I knew I was never good enough for you, I think so highly of you Hermione, even though I may not show it as much as you would like. If Draco is going to let something as stupid as this get in the way of things then he definitely doesn’t deserve you!! He’s not willing to risk anything. But if you would have me back I would in second! Ok Hermione I still love you but I have come to terms that you love me as a friend and nothing more.”

“Ron I do love you, I wish you would stop thinking you weren’t good enough for me! I was the one that almost wrecked things with one of my best friends in the world. You are so important to me Ron and I hope you realise that. I have to say that I love Draco so much despite all that has happened, but I suppose that I can’t force him to come back. I’m not anymore special than Draco – in fact he’s far better than me!!”

“No Hermione!! You are worth a million of him and don’t go thinking otherwise, there’s not a single guy on this planet that even comes close to being worthy of someone as amazing and caring as you. Hermione I didn’t realise what I had until I lost you. I have the most amazing friend in my life and I wouldn’t trade you for a single thing.”

“Oh Ron!”

“I hugged him so hard.”

“You always know how to make me feel better!! You’re the best.”

“Hold on I have an idea!!” Ron said suddenly.

“What!? I asked confused

“Ahhh you’ll see in time dear, I’m going to be the one to put that gorgeous smile back on your face!! Just you wait and see what I have in store!!!”

“Ron got up and ran away leaving me confused. I had no idea what he was going to do but I did admire him so much because he had already achieved what I thought to be impossible – I was smiling.”
