{} Gran Lonbottom announces she has a pet chimaera.
{} It's raining potatoes.


Neville woke up bright and early on his Gran's birthday. It was June 7th, and he was planning a surprise party. He went downstairs to the kitchen and made his Gran bacon and eggs for breakfast. When Gran came down for breakfast she was certainly surprised.

"Neville!" She exclaimed, pinching him on the cheek. "Thank you so much! I love it!" She smiled as she ate her rotten eggs and bacon that tasted like cardboard. "I have to go to the store," she said after breakfast. "I'll see you later." And with that, she disapperated.

Neville quickly called Harry, Ron, Ginny, Luna, and Hermione and they came over to his house. The seven of them decorated the house so it looked very birthdayish when Gran came come.

"Oh my," she said with a gasp of surprise. "It looks beautiful; thank you all!" She came into the room with a strange creature behind her. It had the body of a lion, and it's tail had the head of a serpent on it. A goat head was sprouting out of it's back.

"Gran!" Neville exclaimed. "What is that?"

"That's a Chimaera," Luna said dreamily. "They're really quite wonderful creatures. Did you know that they can breathe fire?"

"Fire! Gran, were did you get that thing?"

"Thing? Neville, be kind to Lucinda," Gran said as she petted the creature. "I got her as a birthday gift from Severus Snape. I ran into him while I was out, isn't that wonderful?" 'Lucinda' burped in agreement and shot out a stream of fire.

"Gran, I really think you should-" But Neville got interrupted by a thump on the roof. Everyone looked at each other and ran outside, Lucinda followed behind them.

"Ow!" Hermione was the first one out and something hit her in the head. The fell to the ground as more and more MFO's(mysterious flying objects) hit her.

"Potatoes!" Ginny exclaimed. "It's raining potatoes! I can't believe it; I didn't even know that was possible."

"I didn't either," Gran said. "But Lucinda seems to like it." They all looked over, and sure enough, Lucinda was jumping up and down, catching potatoes in her mouth.

"Thanks for the wonderful birthday Neville," Gran said. Neville sighed and gave his Gran a hug, maybe he wouldn't make her give back her Chimaera.
