If any of the mods or admins have an announcement about the FF's they will post it in here. Please, we are just going to announce them to you. If you have any questions please ask in the questions area. It will be much easier on us.

First of all.

There has been some moving around and changing and Due to this the delete thread and all the threads at that have been fully cleaned out and changed. If you need to re do a post or something that you haven't got done or deleted just re-post it and sorry for the cunfusion this may have caused some people.

Outdated fanfics

All fanfics which have not been updated at all in March has been moved to the Finished Fanfics Section. If you want to move it back, PM either me or Pinkneon with:

The title of your Fanfic
Section to move it to (e.g. Romance, Comedy...)

Fanfics which have not been update a month will always be moved to the Finished Fanfics. So, be sure to update your fanfics regularly!

Finished Fanfics

Fanfics which are in the "Finished Fanfics" section will be deleted after 3 months. So, please keep a copy of your fanfic if you want to.

If you are an FF Author you MUST read the FF Rules.

Now, if you haven't then please examine, look, stare, and see these rules. I want you ALL to make sure you DO NOT do these. I've seen these getting broken and I'm about tired of it. PLEASE, READ THE RULES.

Now, I will gladly explain these to you.

Rule number 1:
It means, DO NOT copy another person's FF! Simple as that. It just puts you in the hot seat and the author of that FF you copied probably will find out anyways and just get on your like stink on dog. Anyways, just DON'T DO IT.

Rule number 5:
ALL Harassment by other members in their FF is NOT ALLOWED. You will be warned immediately. AND, if you are a member and decide to post as a guest in your FF just to get attention by other members, then your greatly wrong. The Admins will find out and the Admins Know ALL. Just remember that.

Rule number 8:
Just don't post a comment that says "Please read my FF!" Plese don't. Its just that I know you want people to read your FF but posting an advertisement in someone's FF is sometimes just rude. This is why we have Signatures and thats the only place we allow you to advertise your FF. Please keep it that way.

Rule number 11:
I've noticed a lot of people just posting stuff like "you guys aren't reading my FF, thats real hurtful." Just stop that right now. Great, thanks.

Rule number 20:
I've noticed some posts like "I'll write later right now my sister wants to get on the computer." Or "Hold on, I have to eat dinnner right now, please wait. I'll get to you soon! GUESS WHAT HAPPENS?" Nobody cares, don't do it.



Please take notice of these because I've noticed a lot of this happening and I don't want it to keep happening. I might as well just tell you all now because I'm watching and I know what is going on. Please, please, please, read the FF Rules, for my sake and yours.

I will be going around the FF's and looking to see if FF's have been updated. If they have not been updated in a month then I'll be moving them to the Finished Fan Fics. If you FF ends up there than you can PM me or amyliaz to move your FF to the appropriate place.

ALL FF's that contain any *** or ~~~ will be editted so it doesn't look like this:

***the ugly duck*** will me modified to *the ugly duck*

and anything that has

~~~~~~the ugly duck~~~~~~ will be modified to ~the ugly duck~

and anthing that has ~*~*~*~*~*~the ugly duck~*~*~*~*~*~ will also be modified.

I have just moved all Fanfics with no posts, not updates as of March 25th to the Finished Fanfics section. I will now search for fanfics which have new posts as of March 25th but it is from someone else commenting or asking the author to update... The Rules....have been revised a bit. You should check them out. Oh yes... you should. *nods* You might want to look over number 14 and note we are about to start moving stuff.

A new forum and one new subforum have been added to the Fan Fics. A "Inactive Fanfictions" forum has been added. This is where all of the FFs which have not been posted in for over three months. We have seperated this and the "Finished FFs" which will hold only Fics that are finished.

A special subforum under the Comedy section has been added. It is for all of the EEFFD threads. If you have more than one EEFFD thread, they have been merged into one.

EDIT BY TY/TOUZ: Errrm....ok. I made a booboo apparantly. We changed a few of the EEFFD's names, and I guess we shouldn't have. I appologize. If your EEFFD was one of the few that had it's name changed and you'd like to have your old name back, please PM me and I'll get it back right. Sorry again. :oops:

Your FF Mod team have finished a very large clean up job over the holidays. If your story wasn't updated in the last month, you may find it in the Inactive Fan Fics forum. If you haven't updated it in 3 months, it's gone forever.

To have your Inactive Story reinstated, PM your request to evlpez, Ty or angelwing and tell us

• The title of the story (exactly as it appears)
• Which forum it was in (Character Stories, Romance, etc..)

It is our aim to stay organized and on top of the active status of Fan Fics. If you haven't updated lately but want to in the very near future, don't delay with your reinstatement request.
If it's been three months today since your last update, consider it gone.

If you have an EEFFD that has not been updated in a month, it will be locked and, instead of being moved to the inactives, it will stay in the EEFFD section and not be deleted, despite how long it has been there.

I've changed the way the FF's are ordered. Instead of alphabetically by the title of the FF, it's now alphabetically by the author's username.

It's been one month and a day since Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince was released. The site-wide spoiler ban has now been lifted.

Stories and chapters which take place during/after HBP are now allowed in Grimmauld Place, writers. Have fun!

We do ask that if your new story contains HBP spoilers, please say so in the beginning of your first post, so that readers are forewarned.

Readers beware - you may want to shy away from some new story threads if you have not yet finished reading HBP.

There are currently three closed threads in the GP Parent forum that do not belong there. I'm leaving them there for two weeks so that authors of helpful posts therein can copy and re-post their information into new threads here in the R&R forum. Moderators will be making the new topics for you.

Those who've posted in those topics with a 'better-than-you' attitude will be monitored closely. Rudeness and disrespect WILL NOT be tolerated in GP. If this overly critical behaviour doesn't cease immediately, people will receive warnings and/or be suspended from the site.

Attention Fan Fiction Writers!

Nearly two months ago, the Fan Fiction staff began implementing the new Ratings System for Fan Fiction at Snitchseeker. For this system to work, all new FF threads MUST have an appropriate rating in the title. The ratings guide can be found in the Rules threads in Grimmauld Place and in the Restricted Section. The ratings are explained in detail and there is no reason why this rule can't be followed. However, each week there are several new threads which must be deleted from the Control Panel wihtout validation because people are not reading the rules. Some of the FF staff have taken to PMing writers to ask them to re-submit their threads with ratings in the titles. This is VERY time consuming and should be unnecessary.

Please! If you want to post a new thread in any Snitchseeker Forum, make sure you've read its rules. Common sense, folks.


There have been small changes made to the Rules in The Restricted Section. The old rules and ratings threads have been deleted and new, current ones posted. The old Inactive Fics rule for the Restricted Section (1 month without an update = inactive, 2 months without = deleted) has been revised. The Restricted Section will now follow the same Inactive Thread policy as Grimmauld Place; If your FF is not updated in a month it will be moved to the Restricted Section's Inactive Fics forum. FFs in Inactive Fics will be deleted (if not reactivated and updated) within 3 months of the last update.

4. Proper grammar and spelling are key elements of good Fan Fiction. Nobody is perfect but make sure you double check your grammar, spelling and punctuation before each post. If it will help you, ask a friend who writes well to beta-read your updates before posting. Check the Snitchseeker Beta Readers thread if you don't know anyone who can do this for you. From now on, only fiction written in prose will be validated. There will be no more Instant Messenger fics validated.

The FF Rules have been amended today:

Actor Fics are no longer allowed, as they are not related to the Harry Potter STORIES, and are therefore not HP Fan Fiction.

Any active threads in the Actor Stories forum will be allowed to remain, but will be moved to the Fandom Cross-over Stories Forum. Once they go inactive or are finished, they'll move out of that forum forever and end up either deleted or in the Finished Fics forum.
