Regardless of the question, you can bet there is someone out there who has thought of (or maybe already knows) the answer to your question. Post those queries here and make use of the massive HP minds that roam this site in search of a challenge.

In chapter one of Philospher's Stone Dumbledore says "we've had precious little to celebrate for eleven years." That would imply that Voldemort's rise was somehow speed up in 1970 (given that the date on James and Lilly's gravestone reads 31st October 1981). I personally believe that Voldemort started working on his power when he came back from Albainia.
The death of Moaning Myrtle is given as being 50 ago in 1992. This means that Riddle left school in the summer of 1945. I reckon he spent about the best part of 10 years travelling and experimenting (for want of a better word) before going back to ask for the Defence Against The Dark Arts job, by which time he already has a ban of cronies in tow.

So if you wanted to write a fic about Draco being in Ravenclaw you have the freedom to write that how you want to. What we do know is that his family wouldn't be as pleased about him being in Ravenclaw as they would about him being in Slytherin.

I've read this in several places, and it doesn't seem far-fetched at all, and could easily be true, but it could be one of the Tumblr 'facts' and I stick to canon, so I basically want some kind of proof that JK said it or i'll just not mention it at all...
