We all remember when we first saw Emma Watson on screen! She seemed so little then, she was 11 years old! Today, she is 17 and about to start filming the sixth Harry Potter film, The Half-Blood Prince. How do you think she has grown as an actress and how does that growth affect the character she plays?

To be very honest with, in terms of playing Hermione, I believe that she's gotten better.

I can't tell on other works because she hasn't done any.

But, I just have to say this: In GoF, I think her acting was terrible. Don't get me wrong, I love her to death, I really thought it wasn't as good as the first three movies.

Yah Emma has definately grown as an actress. To be honest, when she first started HP1, she was a horrible actress. but she was only 11. Now that she is older she is maturing as an actress and I think she is great now!

I agree Tara. I was just watching the first movie a few months ago, and while I love Emma, she wasn't very good in it. She is a lot better now though, as she has been doing this for a few years now and is gaining experience as an actress. She is also more comfortable in her role. She's only going to get better and better the more movies she does.

yep.she is a lot better now than before.i think she'll become into a fine actress.her acting improves by each movie!!!!

Emma is growing into a very fine actress with every movie she does, she has improved alot as she grew older.

emma was so cute when younger but her acting was too wooden..
now she has grown so much better n she's so prof. n expressive..wow..

she's good as an actress..she can be pretty good in drama roles..consider tht after hp.

It's amazing, i mean one day she is small and next you know she has grown into a young beautiful young lady.

I really think that her acting was sort of fake in the first movie, and you can really tell the extreme difference, just in Chamber of secrets, I wish she would've played a bigger role in the fifth one.... She has definately improved, and I think that she is a ton more comfortable in her role, like she was saying to the Charlotte Observer, "I used to get really upset when they tried to make me look like a nerd, but now I love it"....

I certainly think she has gotten better, especially from the first movie. And, of course she has become so pretty!

I think in the first fil her acting was very welll.... young if you know what I mean, she was only 11. She wasn't as involved in her character so she wasn't as convincing. But now, she's got more experience and really knows Hermione, so she's excellent!

As Emma grows, so does Hermione. She acted really well in the first movie for someone who was only 11! She was inexperienced but now she's older and more capable. Her acting is amazing. I hope we will still see her in other films when all the HP movie are done.

In the first couple movies, her acting wasn't that great but i mean not too bad for someone who's only 11. And what was that like her first film? Not too shabby lol. But today she has matured and so has her acting. She knows what to do now and what is expected of her. Its great that she has grown so much.


I also really hope we will see her in other movies after HP. Emma has already lent her voice to The Tale Of Desperaux (or however you spell it!). She has already done some great modeling. She has a bright future ahead of her. Im pretty confident we will see more of her.

I agree. I just hope she gets movies that shes worthy of. Also, since she lives in the UK, and will most likely make movies over there, who knows how many of them will make their way over to the US? So hopefully she will get some big roles so I can still watch her! But whatever it is, im sure she will do great.

I think it's good to see her moving on from Harry Potter after being so well involved in it. She's got better as an actress through the experience and I think that she is now great. It shows that she is not the 'cute little girl' anymore and is now more mature and can get other roles. Even though her acting wasn't as good in the first film as it is now, for her age and experience, I think that she did well.

It will depend on the types of movies she chooses to do. If she continues to do smaller films, not many, but I DID see two of her movies at FYE the other day.

I personally think that she is just as good as she was in Philosophers stone, as in philosophers stone she played the annoyed part so well. Then in chamber of secrets she got a little better as she got more to say. Emma is slowly getting less screen time in the Harry Potter films but she makes the best of it. In Ballet shoes she was not as good though, i dont know why i think this but its a personal opinion.
