We need more active discussions, so let's start off easy! This is part one of the Movie Discussions. Emma in the very first HP movie. What did you like? What didn't you like? Is this the one that made you a fan? Why? Why not?

Well, while I think she was closest to the book in Philosopher's Stone, I didn't like the film itself very much...

I don't know, she had already started taking over Ron's lines by the first movie.

Really? I have to say I haven't read/watched Philosopher's Stone in a very long time, but for the film, I think the writers did their best to stay close to the book. So the film-Hermione was comparable to the book-Hermione, and I think Emma did a pretty good job considering her age and all.

On a side note: Is anyone else still active in this FC?

Hermione's Double Coocoo for Canna

I was a fan from the get-go. I remember watching SS and being afraid they would recast the kids or not make another movie for so long that the first cast would outgrow the movie. Emma has some mega wonderful acting skills! To me, she's the perfect Hermione, and I couldn't imagine anyone else in the role. She has Hermione's attitude and personality down pat.

OOC: I am! It's just been a little tough with two threads open. I'm excited to see this open!

This is the movie that made me a fan not only of Harry Potter in general (cos I hadn't read the books until I saw this) but of Emma as an actress. I think she did a great job as Hermione, and she did the character justice even at such a young age.

I think Emma did very good in this film, i think that it was more to the director that made it bad as i didnt really enjoy this film. It was too quiet and should have had a more...quickened pace like it does in the book. She still did great though.
