As you enter, an earthy smell lingers in the air and is the first thing to reach your noses when you enter the room. Various pathways lead off from the door and you may choose to wander along any of these if you wish. The room, at first, reminds you highly of a museum of plants, where there are wooden barriers that stop you from getting too close to some of the wonders of the botanical world. Some plants are touchable and even sprawl onto the edge of the paved walking area but others are sectioned well off. To add to this, little plaques can be found near each type of plant which gives you some explanation on the plant as well as the name of the botanist/oceanologist who worked with that plant. Any and all potentially hazardous plants on display have been sectioned off and invisible barriers are in place to allow you to look, but not touch. Trust us, it's better this way.
This area serves several purposes. Firstly, meandering paths and scattered benches provide a relaxing, natural atmosphere for employees to lunch, gather, or simply take a quick break. Take advantage of the seating. While not intended as a work area, no one will stop you if you feel like your paperwork is best accomplished sprawled in the grass.
Secondly, at the urging of the green team, any employee who wishes to tend their own little garden, may do so in the back of this green house. Nonmagical vegetables and flowers are permitted, as are a variety of magical plants. However, to protect both employees and the other plant life, experimental cross-breeds and potentially hazardous plants are not permitted in these gardens.

Tala loved the Greenhouse, the humidity, the smell of the plants, it was all very calming, something the blonde was well in need of at the moment. She was worried, worried about the snatchings and the consequences she knew would come of them. Werewolves, were not the most trusting people, secrecy was necessary when it came to the affliction (Tala cringed at the word, but she hated most of others too), and knowing there were people out there who wanted to steal them away for Merlin knew what, was not going to help them open up to their fellow wizards.
It definitely made her anxious, something she tried to hide away, but she was sure Lucas had seen it.... And probably Declan and Justine... Tala sighed deeply and sprawled out on the grass, not worried about her pants or grass stains, and pulled out her notebook to write down a few ideas.
There had to be something she could do.

Its his favorite place in level 4. Especially when he need a break from his work, like now for example. So the Oceanologist made his way toward the Greenhouse hangout. Hopefully no one was there because he's not in the mood for social interaction at the moment.

Ah, lunchtime at last. This was William's favorite time of day, and even though the regular break room was under construction, Willy was sticking to level four today. He'd brought his lunch, after all, and every time he went down to the Atrium, he spent money he didn't have on snacks he didn't need.

Getting out a spoon from his backpack next, Willy left it unzipped and set the cup off to the side to give it a good stir. He saw the guy toast him with his sub and gave him a solid nod. Oh, and nowwwwwww he recognized him. Oceanologist, right? What was his name?
Sebastian. There, it clicked. Good thing his soup was setting off to the side, heh. William reached back into his backpack and pulled out his foam ball, aiming squarely for the back of the man's head. Merlin, talk about promoting inter-department communication and relations...
When William had popped up for his impromptu visit to her cubical last week, had there been a file in his hands? Marilyn, who thought herself to be rather astute, didn't recall there being anything in his grasp other than the chocolate-chip cookie bag. However, here she was - another set of heels, another day - clicking towards the lifts to return the oddly placed documents.
The oddness that went on around the Ministry building had not been lost on the blonde. Things disappearing and appearing at random...Mar accounted it to all the magic tangible in the atmosphere.

Clearing her throat indelicately, because she wasn't one of those women, she waved the file towards her teammate. "Does this look familiar to you?"

Nailed it! William tossed his fist in the air, victorious, and then picked up his Ramen to dig in. Nothing tasted better than a win. "Sorry mate," he called out belatedly. Hopefully his lunch wasn't ruined by this assassin...

"I didn't allow my curiosity to run rampant." An easy lie. She'd read each piece of parchment in detail. Ahem. "...but I caught your signature on a few of them." Taking a seat, she crossed her legs, glancing back towards the man that had just been eliminated. "We have three more to go."

Uh huh... from one Slytherin to another, that was code for looking through all the pages and judging them at will. Hopefully not too harshly, though, because as William gave a glance at the file, he quickly realized it was plans he'd drawn up for the latest dragon hatchery, with estimated budgets and financing options as well.
He quickly stuffed that away in his bag and cleared his throat softly. "Well thanks for returning that. And... yes, I believe we do. One in International Cooperation and one in Transportation, which should be easy targets. The other is an Auror, so she's off limits to me." And no, he wasn't saying why. He spooned some noodles into his mouth with a thoughtful expression.

Tala Jordan Pendergast was taking a break. She'd been at her desk since the moment she popped into the Ministry that morning, pouring over form, after form, after form. Talking to Werewolf after Werewolf and though she loved the work, her brain was going a little... Dead.
So, no more meetings or paperwork.
At least not until after she'd had her snack and coffee. Today's snack, just happened to be some homemade lemon butter cookies that she'd whipped up last night when she hadn't been able to sleep. Stress baking, was what Lucas affectionately called it.
With coffee and cookie tin in hand, Taladona walked through the spacious and warm greenhouse, making her way to a bench near some very tropical looking plants. It was so quiet in here, but in a comforting, natural way that the blonde witch loved, she couldn't help thinking about how Emmalee had done such a good job with the space. Taladona would have to mention that. With a mental note to remind herself to do so later, Tala sat herself down, opened up her coffee and the little silver cookie tin, and with a childlike pleasure, got to dunking.

They were sweet, with just a hint of tartness and were just hard enough that they didn't melt into her coffee at first, second, or third dunk. She ought to get some of these to Lynley, because now that Tala remembered it, the decisive and blunt department head seemed to have quite a thing for lemon anything.
That is, she'd bring her some if she didn't eat them all up herself, which was a very real threat. oops.
Glancing up at the sound of a familiar voice, Tala absolutely beamed at the sight of Minister Sherman. She giggled at his words, her earlier worries being carefully tucked away at the pleasure of such adorable company (look at him with his little packed lunch, if that wasn't cute, tala didn't know what was). "Hello Minister, fancy it is." the Californian witch replied, scooting down the bench some to make room.
"Would you like to have a seat? I'm about to, like, devour all these cookies in one go." Tala said, lightly teasing herself. "Oh! You should have some, actually." She said after only a second's pause, holding out the tin for him. "I have waaaaaay too many and I probably shouldn't eat them all." she beamed.
If the minister had hoped for a quiet lunch, that wasn't what was happening here.

The "Greenhouse Hangout" was Schuyler's favorite place at work, and whenever she seemed to have any sort of break, it was there that one could find her. But it was simply an appropriate setting for so many occasions: a mere stroll through the greenhouse, a meet-up point with someone or small groups of people, certainly the prettiest place to take lunch, and of course, the lone place in the ministry where one could tend to his or her personal garden.
Schuyler was fortunate enough to have a small garden area by the patio at her and Nigel's apartment, but naturally she'd filled that entire area with flowers and pretty plants. But as for her specialty plants and vegetable garden, that was for this lovely greenhouse here.
She wore a canvas apron and swung a pineapple in her hand as she walked along the pathway to her vegetable garden. Because first things first! And by first things, she meant checking on those veggies and hopefully having some to pick.

"I would love to." He reached for a cookie perkily, wondering to himself if Mrs. Prendergast could bake as well as she could support young werewolves. Hm? Biting into a biscuit, he was pleasantly surprised at the combination of tartness and sweet stuff that somehow balanced perfectly.
Could she make some of these for him to take home to his wife? Was that inappropriate to ask?
Probably so. "I have never tasted a cookie so fine, ma'am. Maybe you ought to give up public service and open a bakery."

"You look good in an apron." Olly commented with a small grin, approaching her from behind. She did, too.
Well, Schuyler looked in anything really.
Landing with a soft thud, the pineapple in Schuyler's hand had just been casually dropped a moment before she heard the voice behind her. Then the smile found her lips before she had even turned.
Olly.
"You look good with little smudges of dirt on your forehead." Taking another small step toward her, she wet the pad of her thumb on her tongue and lifted her hand to gently wipe it off. It was much more desirable to work in dirt than to work with, say, creature droppings in the Magical Creatures department. She rose onto her toes and kissed the place where the mark had been.
"And, just in time to help me pick some veggies," she said as she started back toward her patch of soil. "I think there might be one or two cukes that are ready.." Her eyes were already scanning for the ones at perfect ripeness.

Olly held completely still as Schuyler stepped closer and wiped the dirt off her forehead. She still got a somewhat unimpressed look paired with an amused smirk, however. That was a bit too...motherly for her taste. While at the same time endearing though. "You're like my personal shower." Olly quickly reached out to hold onto Schuyler's top just long enough to steal a kiss on the lips.
Now they could go talk about vegetables or whatever.
"Only if you cook me dinner with them tonight." Sounded like a fair deal no?

Schuyler could see Olly making some sort of faces at her up until the point that she placed that kiss on her forehead. She just grinned all the same. "Personal shower? I don-" She was in the middle of responding when Olly caught her top, then her lips, thereby cutting off any answer she may have been forming. Kissing her girlfriend was a much more desirable way to use her lips at the moment anyway, and she gave a smirk as Olly released her.
Cook her dinner, hmm? "Deal," the brunette answered as she plucked a cucumber from its vine. "Mmm, and let's take a bath, too," she proposed. Baths were always a good idea, particularly girlfriend ones. "So, since Nigel's been single he's been getting all these gifts from his fans. Like, baskets of stuff! So he got all these bath bombs and lotions and gave some to me, so I'm sure we can make use of them." She flashed a grin at the other girl. Really, though, the rockstar roomie was receiving some rather choice other gifts. He'd mentioned making a slip n' slide with that lube he'd received, but no such thing had been created and she really didn't want to think about the things he was actually doing with it. Schuyler blinked at the cucumber in her hand and suddenly tucked it away in her apron pocket.

Yes! That had been easy. But then again she had always been quite good at convincing people. Because she was such a charming person and all that. "Yeah?" Olly smirked, stepping a little closer and bending down to place her palm against the soil. She could never say no to a bath. "You getting lots of fangirls outside your apartment then?" Things like these made her quite happy about living with Jószua and not anyone famous.
....and yes, she definitely still considered herself to be living with Józsua even if he wasn't technically here right now.

"Some," she answered. "But really, he's just been getting a lot of stuff owled to him." Love letters and gifts and just strange things. It was more amusing than annoying, and his increase in 'wild nights' didn't really affect her as much since she'd been staying most nights at Olly's.

Some fangirls? Olly lightly pushed her fingers against the soil. Seemed fine. "Yeah? Well, that's not too bad." At least there weren't fangirls trying to climb through the windows or something. Though she was pretty sure Nigel was enjoying the extra attention. "I like the bath idea, though, yeah." She smirked at Schuyler, finally getting back up again and walking over to where she was.
"Alright. Nothing too interesting. Just been replanting mostly." She nodded. Not that she didn't enjoy doing it. But she highly doubted Schuyler would be too interested in the details. "How's yours?" Despite the fact that she'd promised she would help her girlfriend with the vegetables, Olly hadn't actually done so yet. She would still get that dinner right?

Good, Schuyler figured Olly would be all for it. A bath would be more effective than her 'personal shower,' too. She smirked a little bit and picked a ripe tomato. And then another one.
Replanting wasn't the most exciting task, although it was probably more interesting than Schuyler's day had been. "Kinda boring," she answered with a shrug. "Processing permit applications." Site visits were amazing, but the past two days had just been all paperwork. But visiting her little garden here and bumping into the girlfriend was definitely a plus. Actually, was that girlfriend of hers even collecting vegetables for her? "Here, chaser girl," she said as she tossed Olly one tomato after another one. She'd lighten her apron a little bit and see if those quidditch skills were still there.
