Default ECFC Discussion #6 ~ The grey Lady and the diadem

What do you think were The Grey Lady's motives behind stealing her mother's diadem?

She must have really wanted it for herself, obviously. It might have been merely because she thought it was pretty, but there could have been a lot more to it than that. Maybe it possessed some special power to her. Or it could have been that she was just in rebellion and wanted to steal it just to prove that she could.

I'd really like to hear what some of the rest of you think about this topic! It could become very interesting, and I'd love to discuss the issue further.

Well, I think Helena maybe just wanted to hurt her mother. So she ran off with the diadem, since she knew that it meant a lot to Rowena.

Yeah, it's hard to figure out, I must say... She didn't really strike me as the type to be "power-hungry" seeing as she ran off with it and dissapeared. She also didn't seem very shallow, so I'm not too sold on the "because it made her look pretty" idea.

I'd have to agree here. I think she just wanted to spite her mother. While she didn't seem powerhungry, or shallow, she DID seem to me like a bit of a brat... That sounds like something she would do, judging by the brief glympse we got of her.

Maybe it was just a form of rebellion, and I also think that Helena did this to spite her mother, being jealous on her.
Anyway, she seems the kind of person to act before thinking, so it was more like an impulse of a moment for her.
