I have always wanted to know,what happened to Gilderoy Lockhart in the future in St.Mungo's?
Did he die there not knowing why he was getting fanmail and only knowing how to do joint-writing?
Did he ever catch sight of one of his books?
Did he ever edit his biography?

I think he might edit his biography telling the public about what he remembers and about the chamber of secrets.

I think he will get better. Somehow I can't picture him in a hospital forever... He won't be in any more of the books, but somehow I think that he will get better. He just might write about the chamber

I have to agree! We know he was improving slowly at St. Mungos, and while I doubt Rowling will bring him back in Book 7, I think he might just go on to write his memoirs someday. If he does, I think he'll be a lot more honest about what he did, and that will include how he lost his memory inside the Chamber of Secrets, and how Harry went on to rescue Ginny and destroy the Basilisk and Tom Riddle. I think that incident will have made him realize that there are better things to be than just famous.

Ohh...but what if he does write about the Chamber, and now that everyone is going to know he's a fraud...won't they NOT buy his book? After all, who is to say that he didn't make up the Chamber story too? Because Harry won't be around to make the story plausible.

Typically, people are pretty forgiving if someone comes clean and repents publically. How many famous people have done this and gone on to further success in Hollywood????? In the muggle world he would probably face some lawsuits from those he robbed of their just due, but if he puts things right, I think they'll forgive him, essentually. Remember, this man has natural charm as well! As long as he stays away from glorifying himself, I think people would believe it if he wrote about the Chamber. Even without Harry and Dumbledore, Harry's exploits in the Chamber are widely known by those in the ministry, the teachers and the students themselves. McGonagall was there in the office when Harry told his story and so were Ginny, Ron, Arthur and Molly Weasley as well as the portraits hanging on the walls there. They would report it if Lockhart got things wrong. I think he will try to do what's right from now on!

I think he will keep continuing his writing books. For the situation at the Chamber of Secrets, well I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure he'll write about it. It'll be great if he's still recovering at St. Mungo's, and he'll keep giving autographs. LOL

I reckon he will always be a bit vauge but turn very nice and not so big on the whole fame thing. He won't remember his books so maybe they will get forgotten? I think he will leave his fame behind and maybe just be a normal wizard. There is also the chance he won't remember too much of the chamber because he wasn't exactly himself. He may however het all his memory back and become the same old Lochart and not tell anyone his secret. Though it is likey Harry or Ron may let it leak.

*snorts* Yeah..normal wizard. You can't possibly be talking about Lockhart and a normal wizard in the same sentence and mean him. Even if he does get his memory back, I believe that there's something in him that makes him want to lie to wizards. It's just him. There's no way he's going to repent and become a normal wizard. *shakes head* There's just no way.

I agree with everyone who said Gilderoy will edit his book,I think he'll write something like

"Then Ron,his sister and Harry came flying out with some sort of big bird.It was so magical it was unbelievable.And then once we were out of Ron's house,I gave them my autograph!"

Or something along those lines.
I know that J.K Rowling probably won't bring him back but it would be funny if she did!!

I agree, I think Gilderoy will continue writing his books after he recovers his sanity and leaves St. Mungo's (which I think is going to happen). I don't believe he will play much of a role, if any, in Deathly Hallows. I do think he will tone his act down a bit and be more honest, after all, he is a Gryffindor (I think!) and therefore more inclined toward honesty. Or is he?

I agree when everyone says he'll edit his book. He'll make it into an extrodinary adventure though; he's so full of himself it's not funny. If you noticed he wouldn't ask how they were, just went on about his joint-writing and photographs. He's already back to normal in my opinion, he just can't remember what he did, where he is or anything. I'm surte people'll buy his book with no problem, or if not that Gladys (or whatever her name is) girl will buy all the books because she loves him.
