| | | Flourish & Blotts The walls are lined with shelves everywhere you turn--in fact, not a square inch of blank wallspace was visible, and the shelves themselves are packed to bursting with books of all manners of shapes, sizes, colors, with writing down the spines--some of which is in English and some of which is in some strange script you cannot begin to understand. Even the floor is occupied with stacks of books, with just enough space for one to find one's way around the shop to pick up the books of one's choice, gather up coursebooks for a year of Magical schooling, or just to browse. You can buy stationary here as well. The shopkeepers, will be glad to help you with your purchase or to help you find the book you need.
Few new things had been add up which makes the shop more impressive. The entire selection of books had been reorganize making it easier to find your books. The first floor of the store is based to nurish knowledge. A second floor was built so that more books could be add. That section have the biggest selection of novel both muggles and wizards alike. A brand new selection of school bag have now a place. Not too far from the counter a little fireplace stood with two tables and few chair. It's very comfy and inviting if you want to read or relax.
For those who are there for their school supplies, the shopkeeper had decided to make thing easy for you. Under a huge table is a sign that can barely be miss. Those who don't see it seriously should concider getting their eyes checked. Brett has recently taken over as owner for the shop as his original employer, unfortunately, is unable to continue with her duties. With his experience, however short it may be, Brett has become knowledgeable about the books in the shop and is able to run the shop with little problem. Be wary, however, for this lad does enjoy a lady's company and you may leave the shop with more than just your purchases. Welcome to Flourish and Blotts OOC : Please DO NOT, roleplay the shopkeeper or the shopkeeper assistant. This shop is run by Brett Carlen (Granger1814) & Faith Sorenson (Loki). If we see anybody else RPing the shopkeepers, we will ignore that post or even delete it if necessary.
Please feel free to RP yourself coming in, browsing around, making purchases, asking any questions you see fit. We will be checking in on the thread as much as we can but we can't be online 24/7 so please be patient with us. This place can become very chaotic so please keep the chatting to a minimum. You have the street and some other thread for that. Most importantly... please enjoy!! |

The students that she had just saw previous to her arrival here seems so full of energy, so full of life that she was actually was looking to see them in her shop. She loved kids and could cuddles and hug them all.
Looking around, she was wondering if her friend and co-owner was already there. "Lo's? Where are you sweetie?"

She was clearly excited for today, though she was easily exciteable in general. Upon hearring her name come from the front of the store, brushing a lock of hair from infront of her face Lola walked out of the backroom, closing the door behind her. "Miaaa! I'm here," Lo greeted, hugging her dear friend as soon as she reached her. "Oops, I suppose I forgot to open up the store." Silly her.

The important it's that everything is set up." Brushing her hair with one hand she make way toward the counter and with a simple wave of her wand candles appear on each shelf making a warm and cosy ambiance and a soft music could be ear. "Much better."
Turning toward Lo, she took few seconds to think before speaking up. "Do you mind keeping an eye while I'm going to be back store. I just want to be sure that we received our latest shipment. I've order some comic books since my boy suggested to me and I want to be sure it's the right one."

Walking into the shop with her aunt, Liz walks over to the counter right away. Turning to ask her aunt something, she realizes she had gone over to the art section of the store. Smiling Liz turns back to the counter again.

Much better indeed. She nodded, perfectly capable of taking care of everything up front while Mia checked things in the back; "Of course! How are your boys, by the way? And Melania, how is she doing with Beauxbatons?" Lo asked, scanning over something on the clipboard to refresh her memory. Quote:

The young woman asked, placing the clipboard down, out of the way entirely.

"Hello!"
"I'm a second year. I need to get the whole set of school books please. I will also need, umm hold on", Liz says taking out a piece of parchment with her list on it.
"I will need 2 black ink pots and 1 colored ink pot. 4 common quills and 1 fancy quill. 2 packs of common parchment and 1 pack of colored parchment."
"Do you also by chance have the series A witch without a name? It looked fascinating!"

"Do you also by chance have the series A witch without a name? It looked fascinating!" Taking her wand from her back pocket, which admittedly she knew wasn't a great place to leave it but Lola was never one to worry about such things. If something were meant to happen, it would; that's how she saw it. Lo flicked her wand lightly, eyes twinkling as she carefully levitated three ink bottles, and the stationary over to the counter where they were set down. With another jerk of her wrist they began to self-wrap themselves, while she strolled over to the front shelf and picked out the proper pile of school books for second year. "Yes we do my dear! Very good choice, my little sister just read the first book and she loves it." Lo complimented, setting the books down on the counter that she would soon finish ringing up, she disappeared down an aisle. Coming back within a few moments carrying another, smaller set of books, and returned behind counter. "The total is 14 galleons," She said, putting the parcel ontop of the books. "I hope you have a lovely term ahead of you, come back anytime!"

Sho finished his ice cream cone before walking into the bookshop. He held the door open for his friends after wiping his hands on a napkin. They didn't have much ice cream on them, but it was still enough to be annoying.
"Better finish those cones out here," he told them, wagging his finger around at their cones.

Faith C. Sorenson Diagon Alley | Stitch ♥ Hockey Amelia was feeling totally safe with Lo's been on her own in the front of the store. She trusted her friend but she was a bit sad that she yet didn't find anyone for her. She had in mind to do anything so the empty space that her friend husband had left would be filled. In Mia's mind, every woman need a man at her side, and they were no exception to that rules. As she went through the boxes that was in the backstore, she noticed some wizards coming book that she had indeed purchase but along with them she found some very old comic that she had never heard about. "Hmm... this is strange... I don't remember ordering them..." Simply laughing at his little strange situation, nothing was a big deal to her and she decided that she will put them up in the store a bit later.
Walking back at the front of the shop, Amelia's smiled at Lo's when she mentioned her kids. They were no greater things that her babies. "Well the boys are doing fine. Mat is a little devilish boy but Dominique is the one I'm a little bit worried about. With all the allergy that we discover that his having, it's so sad." Thinking that one of her baby didn't have life as easy as she wanted was the only thorned in her life but as Mia's was always saying if life showed you obstacles you have to fight to go through it and it will only makes you stronger. "As for Mel's she loved it there. I knew it was the best place for her and I'm sure you would agree with me on that point. Talking about kids... How's your girls?" Quote:

She could see that ice cream still was kids favorite food. Walking toward him with a napkin in her hand, she offer it to him. "Better have one of those. I'm sure you want to touch the books with dirty fingers."

He loved the smell of bacon parchment in the morning.
Or late afternoon, or evening, or Linner, which is that time right around when you might be hungry but its too late for lunch and too early for dinner.
In any case, David Kapoor was happy to be in a bookstore again. As he entered the shop, he gravitated towards the metaphysical section, and pulled out a biography; The Life & Times of Tim, The All-Knowing. That ought to make for an interesting read. Kapoor adjusted his spectacles and looked down at the front cover. Herbert had seen better days.
He then thumbed through a book about Lillith and it's effects on houses. Perfect. His daughter, Eliza would enjoy reading that. Taking the two books he headed towards the point of sales terminal.
"Good afternoon." He said, jovially greeting the store-keeps and placing both books on the counter. He eyed a spell-checking quill nearby. "I'd like to purchase these two books, please. A biography and an astrology book." Deciding to take one of the spell-checking quills, he placed one on top of the books. "One of these little instruments as well."

Artemis J. Chosen Diagon Alley | Fortress of Brilliance Lola giggled, amused to hear about Mat. He was probably the one out of the three that could even begin to keep her dear old friend on her toes, yet nothing was quite capable of actually doing that. It was no wonder Mia had been her role-model, growing up. "Aw poor little Dom," Lo faintly frowned, a smile tugging at her lips again in just moments of thinking on the brighter side. "It's best those sort of things are figured out now, rather than later. By the time he's ready to head off to school, it would feel normal having all the allergies since they've been there the whole time, right?" She suggested, putting a positive look on it. She absolutely adored Amelia's children, each were a whole worlds different from the other and precious in there own way. "Oh yes! Beauxbatons was the perfect choice for her, I agree." Lola nodded, wholeheartedly agreeing. She would never forget her years attending that academy, not only had it taught her almost everything she knew to this day, but it has the reason she was here today, co-owning this lovely bookshop with her friend and business partner. Well, that and an old favorite teacher that had introduced the two. "Micaiah and Chandra good. Probably giving their babysitter a hard time; Both are just getting over the sniffles so they are not to go outside for one more day." In child speak, one more day was forever, apparently. Quote:

Faith C. Sorenson Diagon Alley | Stitch ♥ Hockey Lo's laughed was almost contagious. Amelia was loving this kind of work energy that they both were adding to this shop. Out of all the peoples she knew, she couldn't think of anyone else other than her dear friend Lola to run the bookstore with her. She could remember the exact time where they were first introduced to each other and she knew even then that it would be a friendship that would last a lifetime.
Keeping this optimistic smile of hers she knew that no matter what came her way she had no problem dealing with it. "I know. My little baby is a strong little one, pretty much like his father. I'm trying to find a way to reverse this... and before you say anything, I know everyone that I know think I'm nuts but I believe that it might have to do with his chakra. The energy that his surrounding him is probably out of balanced or something like that. Anyhow, I rather check if I'm right than do nothing. Plus it's not going to hurt him and it's going to bring him more balanced." Anybody who knew her was perfectly awared of her zen tendency and her belief about the unseens world.
Everytime that Amelia was talking about her kid a little light was glowing in her eyes. Those precious little thing were making her complete and she would have given the world to them. "Beauxbatons still amazed me. They barely have new teacher from when I was there. Our hold Charms professor is still there. I have to admit that she's getting rather old but she's still looking marvelous." For Amelia, Lola was almost a part of her family which was making her girls very close to her heart. "The poor babies, I'm glad to know that their sniffles are almost over. I've heard that it was rather contagious this year. I have some miraculous herbal tea at home that prevent those kinds of thing. As for the girls, they are rather young so it's normal for them to test the limit of the adult in charge. It's only natural."
Taking a glimpse on the purchase the man just did, she couldn't help but noticed the Lillith. "I'm sorry to interrupt but I admire your choice sir. Very good selection."

Looking at the color of the bookmarks the man just took, she couldn't help to analyzed his choice. "I know it might sound strange but indigo have a negative effect when you used it during a depressive mood. So if you feel down keep that color away from you as much as possible." Her comments were base on nothing she was able to see but she thought it could be helpful. "As for the blue I have to admit that it's the most suiting color. It's like a bit of peace in color."
Mentally applauding the taste of that man's daughter she could remember the first time she had took interest in those subject. She was seven years old and had that time the other kids were already looking at her in a strange way for her topic of discussion. "Well I couldn't be more happy about her interest. I'm personally all about cosmic energy which his a subject dear to my heart." Litely giggling as he asked her if she had read the book. It was certain that she had done it. "Of course, this book will talk about the fact that in astrology we also refered Lillith as the dark moon, if she doesn't already know this. The book will teach her many great things." Quote:

"Oh, and a spell-checking quill as well!" she suddenly remembered. "That would be all." Jessica said and waited, searching for some money in her bag.

Artemis J. Chosen Diagon Alley | Fortress of Brilliance Lola could have scowled at the thought of anyone thinking Amelia was nuts, really she couldn't see why at all. She didn't always understand spiritual energies, methods and practices but once it was explained she quite enjoyed learning about it. "That's a good theory, and you're right it can't do any harm to try. If anything it could help," She encouraged, enthusiastically. "I hope she doesn't leave, I would love for my girls to learn from her too." Lola admitted freely, beaming with slight obvious hope for that. Atleast for Micaiah's first year, would even be nice. Maybe they would pay her a visit, it would also be nice to check up on the school after so long. "Do you? I'll have to get some of that. I'm glad to hear that's normal, though Jack tests his boundaries alot more than they do; I'm not sure if that's good because they behave themselves for the most part, or bad because they're uncle sets awful examples." Lo giggled to herself, shaking her head lightly as if to momentarily erase the recent memory of 'snakes' jumping out at her when she opened a cabinet door. Quote:

Especially not at work, she quite liked having customers come in, browse, ask questions and make simple small-talk. It make the store warm and fun, Lola thought. Her attention briefly turned on a teenage girl that came in, and turned back to the gentleman infront of the counter. She glanced to Mia, interested in that comment about indigo; her gaze turned back once more, saying "16 Sickles more, please. Feel free to change that color if you wish to, also."

Her comments were base on nothing she was able to see but she thought it could be helpful.
The book will teach her many great things."
Smiling at the young girl who had just arrived near the counter she was trying hard to not cuddle her with attention. "Hello there sweetie pie. How can I help you?" He nodded. " Why, thank you, Madame." The woman quite obviously was profficient on the matter. " Only if you are pre-dispositioned to melancholy, I believe. But, I don't think I need to worry as it's a gift for my daughter, who is one of the least melancholy people I know." Inwardly, he was grateful of that fact and would've liked to have taken the credit, but more likely it was just an inherit characteristic of Elizas'. " May I ask you, and forgive me if this is a personal question, but...where did you acquire most of your knowledge on the subject?" 'Sweetiepie??' Despite the pure and utterly ridiculousness of the thought, Kapoor found himself thinking that he just shouldn't have worn his good cologne today. 'He just shouldn't have...Oooh!', The Professor felt rather embarassed when he realized that a young customer had entered the shop. He hoped the shopkeep didn't notice a briefly worn expression of confusion and embarassment. Quote:

He turned to see the young girl in the shop and gave her a warm smile. " Preparing for Hogwarts?", he asked, hopefully. It felt good to say that, after last term. The Ministry's interference had him wondering if Hogwarts would even be there. Quote:

Kapoor reached into his robes and pulled out 8 galleons and 20 sickles, but decided to convert it for the shopkeep. Both ladies seemed to have an open attitude about alternative methods of healing and that was sort of refreshing. He handed the shopkeep 9 galleons and 3 sickles, and taking up his newly purchased items, he stepped aside to allow them to assist the young customer who just entered Florish and Blotts.

Theo made his way looking for books. He really couldn't find his daddy. And his daddy had the most money. He didn't have alot on him. He pushed the door open with his elbow. He smiled when he saw all the tall shelves. He momentarily pulled his thumb out to check his booklist, which happened to be in his pocket. He gravitated towards the desk and peeked over the top. "Hello. I am new. Where might I find the books for first years?"

The girl knew he was a Professor, but she hadn't met him before because of the separate schools, so she introduced herself:
"My name is Jessica Mayer and I'll be in my fifth year from September."

Hogwarts RPG Name: Meredith Natasha Lillian Adams Third Year | Sirius Lee B. Harry dayz! Meredith stepped inside the bookstore. She'd always loved bookstores, but never been in a Magical one before.
With eyes full of wonder she looked at all the books; this was exactly the kind off store she loved. Hm..what books do I need she thought and got out her Hogwarts letter with school supplies. It was quite a lot on the list, so she decided to look around first.
When she'd made a round through the shop, she had realised that she really needed a lot and that she'd better get her stuff later so she wouldn't have to carry it all the time. She left the store, to get some other stuff first.

Faith C. Sorenson Diagon Alley | Stitch ♥ Hockey If they were someone on this universe that would never think that her theory was a bit out there and totally not wacko sometimes, it was certainly Lo's. With all the her little belief that she had told her friend, she was giggling at that thought. "I think it's a good one too but I need to find something to perfect my method and unfortunately we don't have book advanced enough. I'll have to see if I can order some so that everyone might enjoyed it." Off course, she needed to see if one, those books were available and two if the books supplier that she was usually so confident in were able to get them for her. "What is so amazing about my baby is he still have thirst for discovering and trying new thing. He's probably like me on that aspect. He has an open mind."
Amelia only had praised for that Charm teacher. She was such a trooper that after all this years and as old as she was, she still have the interior energy to face the daily challenge that was teaching student. "I certainly do hope you girl will have her. She's probably the best teacher their is." Putting her finger to her nose as she was always doing when she was thinking, Mia was trying to visualized if she had brought some tea with her this morning. "I could give you sample. I've got few tea bag in my purse in the backstore." Shaking her head as she heard of Jack's behavior, she couldn't say that she was surprise at this, not at all. For what she knew of him it was so obvious to her. "I've told you, I could sense Jack's karma when I first met him and it was obvious to me. He got the same karma as my brother but as for the girls it's vital for them to experience everything and that does include some little pranks here and there. Trust me, they will grow up out of it." If you walk toward the big table right over there, at your left, you will see that all the the book are put in order by year. If you don't mind while you go searching for them, I'll make sure to pack some parchments, your ink and the spell-checking quill." Grabbing the quill, she carefully place it a a beautiful bag along side with a pack of parchments and a well close bottle of black ink. All this without loosing an eye contact with the man. Quote:

This is was so not like her to let slip out such a vital and important information. Putting her hand in front of her mouth as she gave him an apologizing look, she wasn't to affect by this either. Nothing could affect her spirit. "Oopsie doosie. I can't believe I forgot this detail. I wonder where my head is at sometimes." This was getting better and better. The man's daughter, which she didn't know the name seems to be someone with a rather good karma. "Well this is just lovely. I'm sure that the energy that is surrounding are very positive. I just can feel it in your voice. I'm Amelia Sulo by the way."
She couldn't see why she would find it personal to answer where she acquired her knowledge. It wasn't a big secret and she didn't mind sharing it since she had a sorted of openness about her. "Oh don't ask for forgiveness. Choo!! I'm more than please to answer that question. My mother was a very open mind woman and she gave me books about that subject at a very young age. I've been just adding more and more since there. This subject is so vast and fascinating that I'm just addict to it."
The reaction than the man had just after she greated the young girl was so adorable. She could sense it very easily. "I'm sorry sir to mentioned it but are you feeling alright." Quote:

Walking a little bit toward him, she put herself in the same height as him. "Hello there pumpkin, I would love to help you with your book. Will you need anything else other than your school book." She was starting to wonder where his parents was. How could someone that cute and that young could be on his own, this was simply unthinkable. Quote:

For the school books it's right on your left on the huge table. Would you mind giving me a second so I can help the little boy and I will be right with you. As for the newspaper you buy one copy here and you filled up the little paper at the end and send it to them. You should received your copied right at school."

Hogwarts RPG Name: Kaika I. Lockhart Seventh Year x5
Ministry RPG Name:
Sienna I. Knoll Daily Prophet | Eagle Eye
This was paradise for her, well, second paradise, considering the first one was the Quidditch shop. She told Crabby to look for the fourth year lot and bring it to her, it will be easier that way, since the little elf had no problem handling big packages.
She walked around gathering a few things, and stood longer than necessary eying an eagle quill, she knew her grandma will tell her that it wasn't something necessary but she liked the quill. Kaika, with Crabby by her side, walked to the counter and gave the shopkeeper what she'd gathered, "Umm, hi! How are you today? I will be taking the complete fourth year list, this eagle quill, this peacock one, 3 packs of common parchment, 2 packs of the fancy one, a spell-checking quill, 2 bottles of black ink, 2 erasable ones and this bottle of color-changing ink" she said, as she placed the things on top, "How much will it be?" she smiled, waiting for the shopkeeper to tell her.
