Default Welcome to Diagon Alley, North End

Welcome to Diagon Alley, North End!

Diagon Alley is well known as the major shopping district for the United Kingdom region. Unlike its “sister” district, Knockturn Alley, Diagon Alley is a family friendly spot for taking care of all one’s needs, pertaining to the magical realm. Easily, Diagon Alley can be divided into three parts, beginning at its entrance (the north end), and ending at the south end, divided in the middle by the entrance to Knockturn Alley. The north end of the street is home to such locations as the Leaky Cauldron (located on Charring Crossroad with its courtyard opening to Diagon Alley), Slug and Jiggers, Madame Malkins Robes for All Occasions, Florean Fortescues Ice Cream Parlour, Quality Quidditch Supplies, and Scribbulus Ever Changing Inks. Beyond that, vendors may be found in this forum, as well as an obnoxious fountain. The bustling streets are filled with food vendors and item hawkers, all set up outside the shops on the north end of the street.

Just click on the links to navigate the Diagon Alley north end RP forum.

The Leaky Cauldron
For most, this is the starting point of Diagon Alley. Muggles with their family can enter Diagon Alley from Charring Crossroads. Most muggles, disbelieving in magic, are unaware of most magical occurrences and cannot see the entrance to the Leaky Cauldron. Those whose eyes have been opened, though, are the rare exception. Inside, the pub has been transformed into an up to date family-style dining tavern. Food and drink are the main event here, but as this is the gateway to Diagon Alley, the courtyard is the most common trek. Tap the bricks on the wall out back in the right order and an arch opens to the bustling north end of the street.

Slug and Jiggers
The Apothecary is the shop to visit when one needs to stock up on (or begin) their collection of potions ingredients. Though the shop smells terribly of rotten eggs and cabbage, the shop is fascinating, and crammed full of questionable items. Slimy stuff fills barrels on the floor, and the walls are lined with shelves full of powders, herbs, crushed items, eye balls, various body parts and the such. From the ceiling hangs bundles of even more ingredients and items – bird feathers, fangs, claws, the such. If you need it for a potion, you can probably find it in here.

Madame Malkins Robes for All Occasions
While Madame Malkins is not the only clothier business for wizarding wear, it is known as one of the best. Most Hogwarts students get their robes from here – and with good reason. Quality robes of many kinds can be purchased from Madame Malkins. Besides selling Hogwarts Robes, they also sell robes which are “spangled, self-ironing, beautifying, slimming, fattening, lengthening and temperature-adjsuting.” For the stylish witch or wizard, numerous accessories can be bought here.

Florean Fortescues Ice Cream Parlour
Muggles and muggle-borns may be surprised to stop inside this ice cream shop. With a limited number of muggle flavors and a vast array of more adventurous flavors, one definitely is stepping out of their comfort zone here. Customers may choose to eat inside or outside at the umbrella covered tables. Floreans is also a great place to host parties, just check in with the shop keeper.

Quality Quidditch Supplies
Any hardcore fan of Quidditch knows only the best supplies are acceptable and Quality Quidditch Supplies delivers. Of course, they sell brooms, but they also sell everything needed for Quidditch. From the best (and, of course, some not-so-great but cheap) brooms, to Quidditch robes, to balls and game supplies, everything needed for a good round of Quidditch can be bought here.

Atticus's Attic First & Secondhand Music Shop
Among the many old and well-known shops along the North End of Diagon Alley, a rather new and loud one has very recently sprung into being. Whatever your musical needs, Atticus's Attic is sure have what you're searching for.

North End of the Street
The beginning of Diagon Alley, outside of the Leaky Cauldron courtyard. This is the path which leads through all of Diagon Alley and to Knockturn Alley, if that might be your destination. The street is tight, small, and usually packed with people and vendors, the aromas of food and sound of people yelling.

Street Vendors
Almost anything imaginable can be found in the carts of the street peddlers. From whimsical knick-knacks to objects of décor to illegal stolen goods to defective items on the cheap, there’s a wide array of shopping to be done outside the shops. Don’t forget the food – there’s an equally diverse array of food on the go to be snacked upon.

Fountain
This creepy fountain possibly has a mind of its own or might be cursed or haunted. Either way, the fountain is located near the courtyard of the Leaky Cauldron. While the sun dancing upon the stream of water is pretty, the faces of the cherubs and dragons are a bit creepier. Make sure to drop a coin or two in the fountain, unless you wish to be squirted by the fountain.
