Default Vaults 501 -1000

ooc: your post will be deleted if you post here without being escorted by a Goblin. You must post in the Gringotts Main Hall and wait for a Gringotts Goblin or worker to lead your character here unless you have express permission.

Vaults 501- 600

Vaults 501- 600 are medium level security vaults. They are small and perfect for people who have a lot of valuables who need them to be well protected. It takes about 1 and a half hours by Goblin cart, to reach these vaults, situated a long distance underground. They are single vaults, small rooms ideal for individuals rather than for families. They are about the size of a medium-sized walk in wardrobe, with shelves lining the interior and a step ladder to help you reach higher shelves.

If you have one of these vaults you will have a bronze key with a moon symbol engraved on it with which to unlock your vault. You can only reach it in the company of a Gringotts Goblin and there are several curses and charms in place to protect your valuables. Very occassionally dragon roars might be heard echoing on this level of vaults.

He would never know how they did this multiple times a day. Trystan wouldn't be able to handle it.

Maybe their inner workings were vastly superior to his.

He gripped onto the cart a little harder, knowing that... it was coming up soon. Surely. Right? They'd passed the off-turn with the sign and everything. That was like his landmark.

An hour and a half was a long time, but it was worth it of course. There was a reason Gringotts was the most trusted bank for Wizardkind and a reason the Goblins enjoyed it so much.

It had nothing to do with the discomfort of the witches and wizards who travelled in the carts.

The cart turned another bend and finally began to slow down. 560...564...568. The cart pulled up and Sturnik got out first, clanker in hand. He shook it as he walked.

Just in case, you know.

Stepping up to the vault, he pressed his hand against it, it shimmered and then he used the key on the lock as the keyhole appeared. The vault swung open.

"Hurry up." Or not. Sturnik did not mind. He shook the clanker and pulled something resembling a deck chair out of the cart. He sat in it, clanked the clanker and waited.

TJ's knees felt funny. They always felt funny after a ride in the carts. The vibrations got to him... he'd spend a lot of time at his desk today, for sure.

"Be done in a jiff." He gave the goblin a grin, wobbled slightly, and stepped into the vault.

There really wasn't much left in here... he'd been meaning to deposit what he'd accumulated over the last three or four pay periods, which... in retrospect, he probably could've used instead of coming down here today.

Didn't think of that. Hunger made one stupid, apparently.

The small, charmed pouch that he used for money was in his pocket; he quietly drew it out and dropped about fifteen galleons into it. That would... keep him for a few weeks. He was already here, and didn't want to go home to get his money, so he might as well withdraw something. He'd just... come back when he ran out of this and deposit his last few paychecks.

He really needed to stop keeping his money in that box under his bed. Lazy tendencies, Trystan Park. Lazy tendencies.

Before leaving the vault, he opened the box that he'd also chosen to leave locked away in here. A slightly sad smile lingered on his lips as he picked up one of the wedding rings; the smaller of the two, obviously belonging to a woman. He looked at it for a moment before setting it back against the velvet interior and closing the box and stepping out of the vault, looking automatically at the goblin.

"Hope I didn't take too long."

They always either took too long or not long enough, depending on which one they thought it was always the other. Sturnik grunted, clanked the clanker some more and shuffled the folded deck chair back into the cart.

Going up.

They were always like this, TJ lamented. The goblins. They always grumped and harrumphed and were very rarely social with him. It was almost as if being so was against the rules that governed their job or something.

TJ climbed back into the cart, trying to not dwell on it. Someday. Someday he would meet a social goblin. It would happen, yes indeed.

"Up, up and away," he murmured, getting a grip on the cart before it could take off.

The vault made grinding noises as it resealed itself, even as the cart lurched and moved away. Sturnik did not make any effort at all to push conversation in the time, a little over an hour and a half, that it took to reach the surface again. Grunting he let the man out of the cart and led him up the corridor to the main hall, where he returned the Wizard's key and left him to his own devices.

He offered a glare as a parting shot.

Ben leaned over the edge of the cart peering down into the depth and Egypt grabbed him around the waist and pulled him back into the cart. "Don't even think about it," she told him. The cart picked up speed as they whizzed further in further into the depths of Gringotts.

"Mommy dragons," Devon asked as he tried to peer over his mother and brother.

"Maybe we will see one," she told him. Though she didn't think so.

Quazi couldn't help but let out a tiny giggle. Yes, those twins were a rather adorable bunch. It was just too bad that Bunny was probably asleep at the time and wouldn't be about to make an appearance.

Fishing out her watch, Quazi glanced at it. They had been traveling for the past two hours already and there was still another hour to go. Whistling to herself, she again glanced around before leaning back again. "Dragons? Maybe if we are lucky Bunny might come out a pay us a visit later," she voiced. Yes, it was possible and the kiddies probably would like that.

Ben and Devon looked at the goblin at her latest revelation. They shared their father's dragon obsession. It baffled Egypt, dragons were.....horrid creatures that burned down your pool house and set your Halston dress on fire.

Egypt just wanted to get out of that blasted cart. She hated those things, she really did. And this ride had gone on for 2 hours. Her stomach felt like she had swallowed a whole handful of worms. "Is there another speed we can go?" she asked trying to hold in the puke that was fighting its way up.

Quazi shook her head and offered a smiled. "Just one speed. But we are nearly there," she replied as the cart finally began to slow. It was reaching one of its last turns as it crested another hill.

Coasting to a stop, the nearly three hour trip was over. Slowly getting up, Quazi dusted herself off and dis-carted. Walking toward the vault, Quazi stood before it and extended her hand. Running a finger over the center of the door, she moved it in an intricate design and lifted her finger off. The sound of gears soon were heard and Quazi stepped back as the vault opened. Turning back the the cart, Quazi bowed slightly and moved to the side. "Vault number 979."

Egypt wanted to sigh in relief when the goblin told them they were nearly there. It was a long cart ride and she frankly was ready to get off.

She followed the goblin over to the door that marked the new Greenwood family vault but she stood back as she opened the door. She heard horror stories of people being sucked into vaults. She did not want to end up that way. "Thank you," she smiled at the goblin as she stepped back to reveal their new vault.

She walked in a room the size of a large walk in closet but it was lined with shelves that went all the way up to the ceiling. The boy ran around laughing and blowing dust off the shelves at each other. Egypt walked into the center of the room and laid her bag on the floor. She reached down and opened it.

She pulled out her jewelry box which contained her more valuable pieces that she couldn't keep lying around the house. It was made of the darkest mahogany and it was at least as tall as Egypt was, with tiny drawers and boxes from the top to the bottom. She set it up in the corner using her wand to move it. It was too heavy for her. Next came the family tree, which was actually a large tapestry that was the size of several bed sheets sewn together. It dated all the way back 400 B.C. Egypt as the family historian had the honor of keeping the tapestry. She used her wand to stick it to the far wall that was too rocky to contain shelves. She stopped for a moment looking at her family and once or twice she touched a name as she remembered them.

For the better part of an hour she pulled things out of her bag. It seemed the thing was bottomless, but she had to move all things from their old vault to the new one. Which was a ton of things, including the family gold. Which took up all the floor space and much of another wall. Ben and Devon were playing with a model broom that Egypt had pulled out of her bag. She was sweating by the time she was done but everything was moved in. Including all the important family papers. "Ok boys time to go," she called over to her children. Ben leaned the broom up against a shelf and they ran our of the vault. She turned to the goblin, "Thank you I'm finished now." she didn't have to say that but goblins were easily offended so she didn't want to do anything wrong. They were too far underground for that.

Quazi nodded and gave Mrs Greenwood a politely nod. Keeping one eye on the boys, Quazi bounced slightly on her toes. The three hour ride had only made her a bit restless, but her legs were at a bit of a discomfort. In all her time employed within these wall, she had not gotten completely accustom to the extremely long trips to the deepest depths of the vaults.

Humming softly to herself, she continued to watch the boys as they played. Human interaction still intrigued her so. Goblins were so different from other magical creatures and seeing the two boys playing struck her interest. She own childhood was nothing like this and she did fun amusement in watching the two run about the vault.

As the hour neared, Quazi moved from just bouncing slightly to switching her weight from one leg to the others. Standing in one place for so long was not of any comfort for her, but she knew it wouldn't be all that long before they were all again in the cart.

The voice of Mrs Greenwood brought her back to reality. Acknowledging Mrs Greenwood with a nod, Quazi moved back and waited for everyone to exit the vault. "Do make yourselves comfortable again. I shall be right with you and then we will return to the surface," Quazi stated as she closed the vault door.

Resting her hand flat against the door, a faint sound could be heard. Mumbling just under her breathe, Quazi removed her hand and began to trace a strange design with her finger over the door. As the sounds because louder, Quazi pulled her finger away a fraction and paused. A rather loud click was heard within the vault door itself as Quazi because to mumble again. After the sounds became silent, Quazi turned and returned to the cart.

Soon after entering the cart, the cart was once again on its way. Navigating its way back through the darkness and nearly endless turns and dips toward the surface once again. Zooming past countless vaults and empty hallow corridors, the cart finally ascend back to the place they once entered the cart some hours ago.

Stopping just at the bottom of the stairs, Quazi motioned for everyone exit the cart, as they were safely back to their starting point. Dusting herself off, Quazi hopped from the cart and bowed slightly. "It was a pleasure to have your business, Mrs Greenwood. I do hope to see you again and do please come back," Quazi smiled as she lead the way up the stairs toward the main hall.

Okay. So, they had many, many vaults! It was incredible! Even if she couldn't see any of those, it was all just a blur.

But, wait...was that a dragon she heard?

Yes, Sienna wasn't fond of dragons. Actually, Gringotts was nothing like those banks in America. They certainly held no dragons, and no carts. The carts were a fun part, though. Sort of.

But...they were arriving soon, weren't they?

Oh. Worry.

It wasn't so much the turns as it was the drops. And the breeze that then mussed his hair.

Preston gripped the seat tightly, closed his eyes and set his jaw as the cart whirled and dipped.

Blast the deeper vaults.

The air was a bit musty and that was sign that they were moving a bit deeper into the vaults. It wouldn't be all that long before they would reach their destination.

100's

Darkness.....and then the cart dropped slightly and a faint rawr was heard in the distance. Bunny was on the move again it seemed, which meant they did need to hurry it up a bit. A hungry dragon was not something that Quazi wanted to encounter today. Willing the cart to move a bit faster, the cart soon crested a hill and dived down toward the next level of vaults.

Aliceara had to give Quazi points. The little goblin had a sense of humor on her. It made things more enjoyable, even though she had yet to really make sense of what was zooming past in the dark. She imagined it was probably just vault upon vault, counting down into oblivion, but the darkness was pressing in. It wasn't causing stress, but she hoped her eyesight adjusted soon. Especially as she imagined she'd be taking this trip rather often, now that she had a vault and everything. "So do you make this trip often?," she asked, keeping the conversational tone she'd had since they'd first arrived in the corridors. It made things easier, not to mention it was quite easy to maintain in the situation. Pleasant goblins weren't exactly what she'd expected.

Coughing softly as the air got mustier, she resumed her attempts to see whatever they were zooming past, adjusting as the cart dropped slightly. They must be going deeper, but she'd somewhat expected that given her vault number. Higher numbers must be deeper. Her blue eyes widened in the darkness, though, as a faint roar sounded through the corridors. "Dragons?," she said faintly, unintentionally speaking her thoughts aloud. That wasn't exactly something she wished to encounter, and she found herself holding her breath as they zoomed over a little rise. "Are we almost there?," she asked, a bit louder and with the slightest note of hopefulness as they continued down. She really would rather avoid the source of that roar.

The cart quickly continued on its journey deeper and deeper in to depths of the vaults. Their journey was already approaching the second hour and they had safely navigated past Bunny. The dragon was due for a feeding and Quazi did not want to be anywhere near the 500's during that time. Rapidly the cart proceeded onward as the 600's finally came into sight.

Slowly the cart began to coast to a slow crawl. Inching its way to the end of the 600's, the cart came to a stop. Waiting for a completely stop, Quazi jumped up and grabbed the lantern. "Vault 695," Quazi nodded as she made her way toward the vault. Pulling the key to the door, Quazi placed it in the keyhole and turned.

After a series of clicks the vault door open and Quazi stepped to the side.

For some reason, Quazi found this trip to be rather amusing. It was fun to see the reactions of the wizards and witch on their journeys to their vaults.

As the cart continues pass the 500's in a blur, Quazi looked around. They had made it pass the den of Bunny. Quazi did not want to encounter said dragon on this day. No it was not the day for such an activity.

As their journey neared the 2 hour mark, the cart zoomed by the 600's. There was perhaps only 30 more minutes left on their journey. Quazi again began to whistle to herself as the cart entered into a series of drops and turns once again. Good think goblins did happen to have the stomach for such drops.

Finally, the cart began to slow and stopped sudden. Glancing about, Quazi hopped up and grabbed the lantern. With her free hand, she dusted herself off and motioned toward the vaults. "Vault 740 this way, sir."

Making her way toward the vault door, she pulled the key out and proceeded to open the door. With the key in place, Quazi ran a finger over the door before turning the key. A series of clicks could be heard from within the door as the door slowly began to open. Stepping back, Quazi moved to the side and motioned inside.

Quazi whistled to herself as the cart proceeded on its course. Hearing the voice of Miss Ravenswood, Quazi looked back. "Quazi makes the trip everyday. Some are longer than others, but it is always interesting." When one thought about it, Quazi did take the trip rather often considering what her title was. It was odd for some Vault Manager to ventured down into the vaults as much as she did, but again she was the type to actually enjoy what she did for Gringotts. It wasn't a task for her at all, it was just a way for her to be more hands on with everything.

Looking back forward, Quazi could see that they had just past the 500's and were on their way toward the 600's. It wouldn't be that long before their journey would be coming to an end. Their trip was already reaching the 2 hour mark as still and the faint smell of moisture was still lingering in the air. The distinct smell of dragon was also present as the cart entered into another cavern of drops and turns. Again the faint roar was heard. Oh it must be the end of Bunny's feeding time. Glancing back, Quazi nodded. "Oh yes, Bunny is the one that most see. Yet, we have a number of them around. Quazi does try to avoid them as much as possible." Goblins and dragons did not go together and Quazi did not want to be the meal to Bunny if possible. Looking back forward, Quazi shrugged. "We should be there shortly, yes it won't be long."

Proceeding on its way, the cart slowly began to level out as their journey neared its end. Coming to a stop, Quazi reached for the lantern and stood up. With her free hand, she motioned toward the vault as she hopped from the cart. "Vault 642, Miss Ravenswood," she announced as she stood before the vault and pulled the key out. Inserting the key into the keyhole, she turned it slightly as the clicks within the door began. With each turn of the key, a series of louder clicks could be heard until the door itself swung over. Stepping to the side, Quazi smiled and pocketed the key once again.

Stepping to the side, Quazi smiled and pocketed the key once again.
Aliceara nodded, fully aware that the odds of Quazi noticing the gesture were slim, yet unable to not reply that way as her question was answered. "I can imagine," she said, thinking back on the roars they'd heard, as well as the speed and odd feelings brought about due to the inability to see at points. She couldn't really imagine how long it must take to get to the vaults even lower than hers, though. If it took two hours to get to hers, she wondered if some people had to be here all day. And that didn't count the goblins and people who worked here.

Her nose wrinkled a little as the musty smell didn't dissipate, and was joined by another smell. That reminded her of the question of dragons, and the roar they'd heard. Holding her breath as they descended more, over another stretch of bumpy tracks, her blue eyes widened again as another roar was heard. Only to be replaced by a wry smile as Quazi turned to her again. "the dragon's name is Bunny? That's quite creative." In an odd, almost ironic way. "I don't blame you for trying to avoid them." Dragons were one creature she'd rather not meet, even though she generally didn't get nervous about things like that. "Thank you," she said then, as she was told they'd be arriving soon. Hopefully the dragon was still far away. And then they'd arrived, and she climbed out of the cart after Quazi. Unlocking the vault was fascinating.

"Thank you again," she said as she was allowed inside. "This is probably not the time to ask, but we were going to transfer funds to Wizarding currency?" Stepping inisde, she withdrew the velvet pouch containing her jewelry, then withdrew several boxes reduced in size, placing them on one of the shelves lining the walls. At least she could do that before worrying about her funds.

Yes. Bye bye dragon.

And the sound of dragons she knew thanks to her photographer-only times in Asia, and that sound was not greatly appreciated. That seemed like a long time ago, and it certainly was! Almost 15 years...and now she was on a little cart on her way to her new vault. Or the first one.

Oooooh, they were slowing down! That only meant her vault was approaching, right? Or they were approaching the vault. Actually, she had no idea how deep they've gotten until her left ear lost all ability to hear.

And they stopped. 695. Yup, that sounded like her number. And it was simply magical how the vault opened. Just magical. "Thank you!" she said, as she eyed the little inside of the vault, though, it wasn't that little, but still...she could put a bunch of other stuff in here.

Right now, just the bag containing the galleons, and a box, with unknown contents. How she managed to get those things inside her purse was also due to magic.

"I believe that is all?" she asked Quazi, the purse feeling a bit relieved of the weight it had been carrying all along.

During the journey, the cart dropped and turned as it navigated its way through the series of caves and corridors. The trip was reaching about an hour in time now as the cart coasted pass the vaults and headed deeper in to the vaults toward the 500's.

Maggie, though apprehensive at first, became slightly more comfortable as the ride went on. Luckily, she had accurately guessed that the trip would take awhile and had planned it so that she had a few hours allotted to visiting Gringotts. She knew she would be making the trip every so often for work and would have to get used to it nonetheless.

Quazi leaned forward and looked into the vault as she heard Miss Ravenswood. voice. "Oh, yes the transfer. We can do that in the main hall before you sign the bank ledger." she replied. "It shouldn't take but a few moments and then there is the fee for opening a new account," she added. Oh the small detail of the banking business.

Leaning back, Quazi began again to whistle to herself as she toward the darkness of the track. There was a bit of noise coming for the darkness and that wasn't at all sitting well with the goblin. They were a ways from the dragon dens, but it wouldn't be the first time that they found their way down deeper into the vaults. Quazi just hoped that the dragon keepers could handle them, as she didn't want to encounter Bunny at the moment.

Lifting the laturn up, Quazi again leaned over to see how Miss Ravenswood was doing.

"I believe that is all?" she asked Quazi, the purse feeling a bit relieved of the weight it had been carrying all along.
Quazi rocked on her heals a bit. The faint noises from towards the 500's were echoing slightly. Usually, Quazi would have been concerned about it and would have advised that perhaps they should venture back, but the sound wasn't as menacing as it usually was. No, the sound wasn't as menacing at all.

Stopping her rocking, Quazi looked back toward the vault as Miss Knoll addressed her. "Well, if it is, shall we return to the main hall and finish up?" Quazi nodded., There was the ledger and the fee for the vault to discuss still.

Allow Miss Knoll to fully exit from the vault, Quazi moved to close the vault door. Once the first click was heard, she placed the key back in to the hole and turned it. Securing the vault again, she mumbled something under her breath as she ran a finger counter-clockwise in an arc over the key hole. Removing the key, she turned to Miss Knoll and placed the key in her hand. "Back to the surface we shall go."

Motioning back to the cart, she nodded as she waited for her to enter before entering herself and settling back into her seat. The trip back to the surface was just as long as the trip down, but oddly if never felt so. Relaxing a bit, once Quazi was sure that everyone was securely inside, the cart began its journey back toward the main hall.

Being as their journey was going to be a while, Quazi sat back and relaxed. The cart had a course of its own and needed little help from the goblin at all.

Soon the cart zoomed pass the 600's and back into the darkness as it dropped and entered another series of embankments and turns before entering the next level of vaults.

Just as the 600's, they flew by the 700's and then the 800's. The only sign of them was but a blur of faint light as the cart picked up speed once again. Soon the cart came upon the 900's and just as the other levels, it moved by it with little trouble at all. The faint growling of Bunny could be heard echoing from the wall, but they were at this point traveling further away from the dragon. They were safe for the moment. The journey was entering its third hour and their journey was so close to its end.

Cresting yet another hill, the cart took another dive as it rocketed its way toward the 1000's and the next level of vaults.

Aliceara kept a critical eye on the miniature jewelry cases that were now lying on the shelves in the vault, hearing Quazi answer her question but choosing not to answer quite yet. She wondered if she should leave them small, although as they weren't taking up much space, she leaned toward returning them to their normal size. It wasn't like she was taking them back with her. That defied part of her purpose in opening the vault. So after a few more seconds, she murmured the charm to reverse the reduction, then turned away as the boxes regained their normal size. That would save her some energy next time she needed any of the jewelry. Returning her attention to Quazi, she smiled. "Thank you. I'm sure I can cover the fee, as well as still have more to place in here," she said, before a concerned expression flickered in her blue eyes as it seemed the goblin was focused on other things.

"Should we head back then?," she asked. She hadn't really heard the dragon noises over the last few seconds, but perhaps Quazi was more tuned in to that type of thing. She wasn't exactly familiar with the ways of dragons. Just the thought of encountering one down here made her wish to be back up in the hall, safe. She just hoped Quazi knew more than she did. The little goblin didn't seem overly concerned quite yet, so perhaps they were fine.

Quazi leaned back out of the vault. Miss Ravenswood seemed to be doing well. Again, she glanced back into the darkness. Yes, there hadn't been any more sign of Bunny or any of the other dragons, but she needed to keep on her toes. They were rather tricky little beasts, especially the babies. Shaking her head of those thoughts, Quazi looked back to see Miss Ravenswood.

"Oh, yes it is time." Quazi nodded as she motioned to the cart. Turning back, she pushed the vault door closed as she pulled the key back out and placed it in the keyhole. Giving it a quarter turn, she ran her nail in a short arc and recited something, then turned it another quarter turn. The locking mechanism began to move as the clicking nose became clear within the door. Smiling to herself, turned it the remaining way and pulled the key out. The vault was once again secure.

Making her way to the cart, Quazi handed the key back to Miss Ravenswood and entered the cart. Settling in, she placed the lantern in the seat beside her. "I shall let you, the journey back is usually quicker than the journey down," Quazi nodded as the cart began its journey back to the main hall. Of course, it tool the same amount of time for the journey, but it always felt shorter.

Erik leaned back in the cart and held onto Kenzie as the cart started going again. Watching the scenery around him his eyes started to close and he leaned against Kenzie. It was a long right a nap wouldn't hurt right? Not to mention he'd done this so many times he wasn't shocked by all the dips, turns, and roars anymore. Pretty soon he was dozing off holding on tightly to Kenzie who happened to make a good pillow.

As a jolt in the cart startled her, she looked over at Erik. Noticing he was dozing off, she laughed softly. Thinking back to Nathan and Egypt, she shakes her head forcing herself not to laugh louder.

He must be exhausted, she figures. Kissing his head as he leans it on her she settles back in his arms, figuring if he was dozing off it would take awhile to get to his vault.
