Default Park Bench

Placed strategically along the south end of the street, there are about five park benches on either side of the street offering a place for the weary to rest their tired feet for a moment. There is one situated between Eeylops and Flourish and Blotts, one between Weasley's Wizard Wheezes and Ollivanders - and then on the opposite side of the street, between Primpernelle's and Wiseacres, and Sugarplums and the Menagerie. The fifth bench is where the cobblestone ends, clearly placed there to let you know you've reached the end of the street and to turn back now.

Though I would be wary of the bench near Sugarplums, as well as the one near WWW, as both seem to have fairly strong odors associated with them. The one near WWW simply because WWW gained a store location right near the rubbish bin, which holds various items, some still of value, but many decomposing. And that Sugarplums bench? It used to be home to at least one homeless person who's hair was so matted, it could have been used by your front door, and who likely hadn't had a proper shower or change in clothes in several years. The lovely shopkeeper assistant from Sugarplums saw to it that the homeless of the area were sorted out though.... the stench still lingers. She is currently working on that.

She was also fantastic at making their properties look more up market than they might have been originally, simply because she was her. An Irish woman who carried an air of being an elite, stuck up snob… And mostly, that worked with her clients - because they were arrogant self-proclaimed elite’s. If there was one thing that McKenzie Cartiér Black had learnt since she had taken on this job and her apprenticeship; it was that your own personal look went a long way in selling a property.

Which made no sense. At all.

It wasn’t like SHE was going to be living in the house with them. However, Kenzie wasn’t one to complain if it made her life easier.

Clutching a muggle orange and passionfruit frappachino in her right hand and her handbag in her left, McKenzie moved through the park until she found the closest benches. As much as she loved the park, her next client was close to this side of the park. As she moved towards them, she sighed as she noted that two of the benches were in the sun - and there were people sitting at both of them.

One, she didn’t really want to go anywhere near… the second. The second however, was cute. So she moved towards his bench, her fingers already feeling the coldness from her drink.

Sigh. Why did he have his eyes closed? Anyone could be robbing him right now… Well, not really as he didn’t seem to have much possessions out for the world to see, but still. It was the principle of the thing. ”Excuse me, can I sit here?” AKA, unless you tell me no, I’m sitting here.[/color]

He was relaxed not really paying much attention to the sounds around him, people moving past he was mostly able to tune out. It actually seemed even quieter than back at the academy had been! He shifted a little bit settled there on the bench. Yeah he really should get moving, and actually do something rather than just sit there. Maybe he sh...nah, why he didn't have anything pressing.

He opened his eyes when he heard a voice close by and saw her standing there. Smiling he took her in quickly and nodded "Oh of course" he said honestly moving a little so she'd have plenty of room to sit. He didn't mind really, he'd been sort of hoping he'd see someone he recognized like...Ellie but that had been very doubtful in his eyes. She'd gotten married the last he'd heard. But even someone like Jacob would be a relief.

He looked towards her as he sat up a little more rather than sit with his feet stuck out in front of him or half asleep which is what he had felt like, before she'd appeared. All he hoped was she wasn't another person who was there just to ask for an autograph... "I'm uhh JD." he said randomly, giving her a smile. Friendly right? If she wanted to ignore him, that was fine too. Maybe she had just been looking for somewhere to sit and that was all.

And now. His brain was hurting. How had they gotten from shoes, to this?

Speaking of shoes, as the disturbed frown was working its way across his brow, Rhydian plucked his socks off the bench and proceeded to stuff them into his shoes. "It was a lovely first meeting, Ms Annette Kaimi Fern. I will try to remember to wear more comfortable shoes next time."

Kai couldn't help herself and laughed a bit at his change in expression , cessation of scratching , and what he actually had to say. "Well, you may not feel a need for considering error in your certainty, but I most certainly do. I feel that there is always the possibility both in fact and feeling that you may ,in fact, be in error. That may have something to do with my chosen form of profession though and in no way do I believe you to be in error of your perception." After her small speech.....she realized her nerd was profoundly showing. Often she avoided using such verbose speech upon first meeting, but this was one of those occasions that she had not seemed to be able to help herself.

Oh.......He probably thought she was a nutter now and his face did show that he was less than comfortable at the moment. Fail Kai.....just fail. End it on a good note at least.....Even if you probably will never see him again. "It was a pleasure to meet you, Rhydian Blackhold. I wish you safe travels and comfortable feet, wherever they may lead you." She smiled genuinely as she spoke and wondered what to do after his leaving.

Default for Alicia/Jory <3

What a day it had been at the hospital. So many patients, so many cases… Gwendolyn rubbed her eyes once more as she made her way along Diagon Alley. Gwen was tired, but there was no way she could complain- she loved what she was doing, and couldn’t even imagine not being a healer. Hmm… she started remembering the promise she made to Jory, not to let her career be the only thing in her life.

Hmm… Jory.

She started smiling as she remembered their last meeting. It was so good to have seen her best friend again. After all this time he hadn’t changed that much…he was still just as nice, friendly and supportive. He really was the best… But to be honest, Gwen was having some trouble figuring out how she felt about his engagement to Ronnie… She should be happier for her best friend, no? Hmm.

Gwendolyn casually made her way along the crowded street, eventually stopping and taking a seat on one of the benches. She gave a quick look around to check if Jory was already there… Not yet.

And frankly, he couldn't be bothered to do all that.

So when it was Daxton's turn to write, he kept it simple.

'Because I can't. No, I can't whisper. I can sign and I can write.
Are you a witch? Do you have a wand?'

He'd added the last couple of questions almost as an afterthought. Because Daxton had realised that this girl, whose name he still hadn't even considered asking, was obviously in this street because she was magic too. And other than that strange professor man who'd visited his house, Daxton hadn't properly interacted with anyone else who was magic, let alone someone his age. Thinking of all the things that this girl might know that he didn't know was simultaneously thrilling and incredibly frustrating. He turned the notebook back to her, almost enthusiastic in his haste, eyes flicking up to the girl's face for just a millisecond when he was quite sure her own eyes would be on the notebook.

Genny wasn't satisfied with the answer. She stared at the perfect handwriting for a moment and then sighed, defeated. Her dad would the answer, he knew everything about people.

Now. With her pen, she started scribbling on the notebook excitedly with the tip of her tongue at the corner of her mouth in concentration to make her writing as good as his.

Of course. My entire family is magic, aren't you?
I can't have a wand yet, I'm nine. But I make wands of my own to practice spells before going to school. It's very fun.

She paused, knowing that if he was of school age, he would be in school right now so she wrote down her next question.

When are you getting your wand?

Also.

Do you have a name or do you not need one because you don't talk?

Now, she handed him back the book.

After meeting Gwen the first time since her return, Jory had to sift through the fresh wave of emotions he was feeling. He knew it was wrong because he was engaged to Ronnie but he had finally come to terms with the fact that he had more than best friend feelings for Gwen.

So far, he had kept this to himself with the exception of Simon. The other Auror was his closest friend apart from Gwen and he couldn't exactly tell Gwen, could he? As for Ronnie... he didn't know how to go about breaking this to her. Lately he had just been distant with her as he tried to get his head on straight.

Even before he was close to the bench, Jory spotted Gwen. He quickened his pace. "Hi, Gwen,'' he greeted with a smile and took a seat next to her. "Did I keep you waiting long?'' Looking at her closely, he could tell she was tired. "Long day? Do you want to go home instead?" Her taking care of herself was much more important than hanging out with him.

Daxton's eyes narrowed slightly as the girl sighed, though he still didn't look directly at her. Why she was sighing, he had no idea; he had not said - or rather, written - anything that he felt might prompt such a reaction. In the end Daxton decided it probably wasn't important, and focused instead on their ongoing conversation via written messages on the page of his notebook.

Though he'd read her responses before she even turned the book back to him, Daxton sat and considered her words for a moment, balancing the notebook on his knee. He rolled his pen between forefinger and thumb, reading and re-reading her words again, before adding his own responses. This time, Daxton wrote even quicker, though he still did not sacrifice the quality of his handwriting.

'My mum isn't magic, but I am. We just recently found out.
I am supposed to start at a magic school in September, and I need a wand, but she says I have to wait until summer. I want a real one to practice with.'

Daxton paused there for a moment, lifting the tip of the biro up off the page but working it as though he was still writing. It was a odd little action, but then the moment passed and the boy went on writing.

'I have a name. Do you have a name?'

Instead of picking up on the cue to actually provide the girl with his name, Daxton was focused on whether or not he should point out to the girl that it was generally necessary for everyone to have a name, whether they spoke or not. But he quickly decided that that would take too much time and that it was hardly worth the effort of writing it all down. Daxton turned the notebook back to the girl again and waited.

As she looked back at the bookshop, Gwendolyn heard someone call her name. ‘Jory!’, she said tracking the source of the voice, eventually spotting her best friend. ‘H-hi’ Why was her voice trembling all of a sudden?! She started smiling as she saw the former Hufflepuff approach the bench. As Jory sat down, Gwendolyn hugged him. She shook her head, as to reply to his question about waiting for long. No, she had only just arrived a moment ago.

Tired? Nope, just my face… ‘No, I’m fine, really’ She gave another smirk. Hmm- go home? No, there was no place she’d rather be. ‘Not at all, I’m glad you are here’, Gwen said with a genuine smile. ‘Did you have a good day?’ Was he alright?

Jory was all smiles. Was it just him or did the world suddenly become beautiful? He would go with it being beautiful because Gwen was around now. That was definitely the reason and as to why he was smiling so much. "Hey,'' he said again, reaching for her hug then hugging back. He might have held on a fraction longer before letting go. Why did it have to be over?

The Auror was wrapped up in his thoughts but not so much as to miss Gwen's slight stutter which he passed of as nothing to be bothered with. He thought she was stifling a yawn. Good to hear he hadn't kept her waiting. But even if he had, she would have said the same thing so he felt the need to explain. "Work. There's always something new cropping up.''

Okay, let's just say Jory was going to buy that or at least he wanted to because he didn't want Gwen to leave. He couldn't stand staying away from her and he really didn't want to go home because he'd have to face Ronnie. He couldn't bear to look at her now. He knew he was betraying her but he had felt different ever since his best friend came back.

"I'm glad you aren't too tired.'' Jory smiled at the smirk and suddenly found himself wishing he could hold her close again. He shook his head. Get it together, Jory, he told himself. She doesn't like you that way. "It was reasonable. Not much to do until this afternoon. How about you? Any interesting patients today?'' Tell him everything because he just wanted to sit there and listen to you forever, Gwen.

Hmm… work. ‘I understand that’ Indeed, there always was something to do! ‘Thank you for making time to meet me’ Since he was so busy. Come on, an Auror’s life wasn’t easy.

She was actually thinking of telling Jory what had been on her mind for a while. Mostly since their last meeting at the Leaky Cauldron. But could she really tell him? Silly girl, this would ruin your friendship. And besides, the last time you told someone this it ended up so badly. Then again, Jory just isn’t like Zeke… Trueee… Jory is such an amazing friend…, Gwen thought. Ugh. All these thoughts made her feel so indecisive.

‘Do you actually want to hear about my patients?’, she raised an eyebrow. Ok then. She will try to avoid the gross parts of the story. Hmm… most people weren’t that interested in hospital stories. ‘You are amazing’, she found herself saying. Wait… WHAT?! Where did that come from?!?! ‘I mean…’, Gwendolyn mumbled as she realised what she was saying. ‘For uhm listening’ Oh man, did that even make sense? Tsk tsk Gwen…, she mentally judged herself.

*MENTAL FACEPALM*

Anyway- she was going to try and casually move on. ‘Well... you would be surprised with the sort of problems people come to the hospital for… cauldron explosions… accidentally swallowing Floo Powder and all sorts of spells applied in a wrong way.’ How on earth could that happen? ‘I mostly work on Spell Damage’, Gwendolyn added.

???????

????

??

Olly blinked, raising her eyebrows and thus giving him a rather unimpressed look. Really?? How old was he? Five? Making fun of other people's names like that was just immature. And not even in a funny way. It was just dumb. It was so dumb that she didn't even feel the least bit insulted by his question. Despite the fact that she had in this case even picked the name out herself.

There was absolutely nothing to say to that so she simply continued to stare at him, unimpressed look very much in place.

Why was she thanking him? He should be the one saying that because a Healer's job was no easier than an Auror's. "I should be saying that or maybe we shouldn't because that's what friends are for.'' Being there for each other and all. Especially best friends.

"You bet I do,'' Jory stated as he settled back on the bench, shifting slightly so that he was a bit closer to Gwen. Did she realise how much he was drawn to her? Probably not. He was doing his best to hide his thoughts but his actions might be giving him away. His gaze froze on hers at what she said afterwards. What was that supposed to mean? But then she was passing it off as his listening skills. Jory tried not to feel too down about it. "For a moment there, I thought...'' He had thought there might be something more to that first half of the statement. "I'm always here to listen to whatever you have to say.'' He smiled faintly.

"Swallowing Floo powder?" Wow. "How does that taste?'' Rhetorical question that was. "If anything happens to me, I know whom I should come to first.'' With his line of work, anything was possible. At least he knew Gwen would be there for him. "Is Spell damage one of the busiest? How come you chose there?'' Jory was going to get to know as much as he could about his friend's work.

And not even in a funny way. It was just dumb. It was so dumb that she didn't even feel the least bit insulted by his question. Despite the fact that she had in this case even picked the name out herself.

There was absolutely nothing to say to that so she simply continued to stare at him, unimpressed look very much in place.
Before he had even registered Olly's unimpressed look, Lysander himself seemed to realize a garnish joke wasn't the most witty piece of conversation to ever come about. His smile fell entirely as he registered the way the strange girl was now looking at him, and his large green eyes slanted once more into a slight glare.

He could be unimpressed too, and he was very unimpressed with this current company. He didn't even know why he kept opening his mouth, perhaps he just didn't want to share silence with this stranger. Still, he kept quiet, unabashedly glaring at her from behind his thick frames.

Despite attempting to look intimidating, the thickness of his frames and the insane quality of his prescription really made the glare quite comical, his large eyes even larger in the magnified lenses.

A staring contest????

Olly could do that. Definitely. But then again, was she immature enough TO do it? For a few moments she was. Staring right back at him. Trying hard not to smirk. This was really amusing to her for some reason. This guy. Seriously. He was funny. Did he know? Even though that was probably not his intention at all. But his antics were just funny. To her at least.

Eventually she broke eye contact, her lips finally curling into a smirk.

"We should get a drink."

It was so nice how their friendship hadn’t changed while they hadn’t seen eachother for so long. If anything, it felt like they were even closer now, didn’t it? ‘Maybe’, Gwendolyn replied with a smirk. Jory had this talent of making her feel like everything was ok even though she was probably messing up plans. Gwen obviously didn’t want to disturb if he had to work. But yes, it was definitely right- as friends, they would be there for each other. Anytime.

Hmm. So Jory would actually listen to her work stories. The one with the Floo Powder was positively weird. She simply smiled as Jory mentioned he knew whom to come to with a problem. Hmm? Oh about Spell Damage- ‘I think it is one of the busiest. At first I thought I would go for Potions and Plant Poisoning, since I used to love Potions at Hogwarts… but it turned out Spell Damage was the right choice…’ Hmmm. Deep breath. Her work area… She tried to say the next part as casually as she could. ‘I guess there are some things that you only figure out later, even though they were right in front of you… and realize it makes perfect sense’ Hint?

She was listening to what Jory was saying next…

For a moment there…?

Yes?

. . .

Gwendolyn looked curiously back at Jory. You were saying?, she thought but didn’t reply anything yet. Perhaps it wasn’t that important? Perhaps it was? Now- what was a Ravenclaw’s way of figuring things…without making a fool out of yourself? ‘You thought…?’, she enquired simply.

Jory really wished Gwen would stop with the smirking. Didn't she realise she was a thousand more times attractive when she did that? That and her hair were always the best of her physical attributes to him. "Is that why you got engaged to a red head?'' a voice in his head asked. "Because Ronnie's reminded you of Gwen?'' He froze slightly at the thought. It had not occurred to him earlier.

But he was smiling now. "I remember how much you loved Potions. I thought you would have chosen to be a Potioneer.'' Jory really had thought that but it was really comforting to know he had another Healer about whom he could always turn to if ever. "That makes perfect sense, really.'' Gwen had gotten wiser over the years.

It was no surprise Gwen wouldn't let the matter drop. She could be so persisting sometimes. Should he tell her? The Auror really wanted to but what if things didn't go as how he imagined them in his head? Everything would change between them. Be a man, Stonewall. Tell her what's going on. Another voice in his head said, But what about Ronnie? Yes, what about Ronnie?

"I do know one thing,''
Jory said to himself. "If I can't tell Gwen how I feel, I'll regret it forever.'' Regrets were not what he wanted in life. "I thought that maybe you were about to say something else but it must be all in my head. Something about us.''

Genny's eyes were on his hand twirling the quill pen skillfully. She tried that on her own hand, careful not to drop his pen and upset him into not talking/writing to her some more. She couldn't twirl it with only a finger and a thumb like him so she used her other hand to help her. That wasn't half as fun or cool-looking, though, so she stopped when he finished writing.

He only recently found he was a wizard??? She didn't hide her surprise, her mouth hanging open in a grin and her eyes going wide. "Co--" She started to squeak but stopped and snatched the notebook closer to her to scribble excitedly, the enthusiasm making her handwriting even worse.

Cool! You can practice with make-believe wands until school comes so that you're well prepared by then.

It was important she defended her method before she went on writing.

If your mother isn't a witch, or anyone in your family at all, then who tells you about Hogwarts and wands? My dad used to run Hogwarts, he tells me everything I need to know.

She looked at the sentence for a bit then scratched the bit that looked like it was smug.

It was very interesting, watching the girl's reaction to what he'd written. It seemed she found his lack of magical experience and knowledge as intriguing as he found her situation, which so far sounded like the complete opposite, at least in this context. For one second, Daxton thought she might break her silence and start talking again, but the moment very quickly passed, and they were back to writing. He nearly lost his grip on the notebook that time, what with the abrupt way it was snatched back, but he managed to keep hold of it.

As ever, Daxton made sure to read as the girl wrote, except it was becoming increasingly more difficult as she started to write much quicker and thus her handwriting became a lot harder to read. He squinted at the page, and was able to make out that one sentence before it was soon scribbled out. Interesting. Very interesting. And potentially very useful.

When it became clear that the girl, Genny, had stopped writing, Daxton pulled the notebook back and read. He made a slight, almost indiscernible, expression of distaste at the idea of a make believe wand. He knew for a fact that he'd never played an make-believe game in his life. All his fantasy lay in novels and the worlds he liked to escape to in his own head sometimes. But that was completely different from a make-believe game.

Although... perhaps there was some benefit in the physical practice. Maybe he'd try it... when he was alone.

After a moment of consideration, Daxton wrote his responses.

'I can read about the spells from the books and practice that way. But I'd rather have a real wand than a fake wand.'

He thought about adding how he could actually already do magic anyway, just presumably not with the proper spells, but quickly decided against it.

'A bizarre man came to my house when I turned eleven and he explained about magic and that school to me and my mum. And there's so many books in that shop that I can read to learn more but we can't buy them all at once.

My name is Daxton Prince.'

He pushed the notebook back towards Genny Tate, daughter of the man who used to run Hogwarts.

It makes sense. Hmm. So much for the healing specialisation-Jory analogy. Gwen was seriously thinking of telling her friend what was on her mind. But… there is so much at risk… A. it could make our relationship as best friends really awkward or, even worse, ruin it completely, B. he is engaged to Ronnie… and could you really love two people at the same time? Probably not. And C… well… Jory is just too good for me, Gwendolyn thought. As she was about to start saying something, she thought once again about his engagement to Ronnie. Gwen couldn’t do this to him. What kind of a best friend am I?, she told herself. No, she was going to shut up. Jory was happy and that was important; who was she to mess everything up?

. . .

Gwen just realised how quiet she got while trying to figure out what to tell Jory.

Aaaaand apparently Jory didn’t quite believe the ‘amazing for listening’ part. Yes, she did mean to say something else, it’s not all in your head. ‘About us?’, Gwendolyn enquired, trying to keep calm. Deeeeep breath. ‘Well… you might be right…’, she admitted, looking back at Jory.

Okay. He had to let it go with the fake wand trashing already. Genny pursed her lips at that part of his first sentence, and she was momentarily out of ideas to counter it. Also, reading? Ew. How many hours did it take to read about spells, she wondered. Hundreds? Davie would know. She absently moved closer to the boy to write on the notebook again but without snatching it from him this time.

Reading doesn't do magic justice, though I have a friend who knows about all the good books.

Ignoring the last bit because she didn't want to fight wth someone who didn't talk, and was a newly discovered wizard. It wouldn't be a good fight without shouting or their regular swears. The story of his becoming a wizard was interesting.

Genny didn't think about how muggleborns transitioned into this whole new world, it was really cool that she got to meet one face-to-face.

That sounds really intense. What did you do when you found out?

That's right, Daxton Prince.

She wrote his full name to make sure it settled in in her head. It looked different because her handwriting was so clumsy but she was sure she got it right. Also maybe she could help him buy all the books? Maybe Davie would tell teach him the fastest way to do that, and the cheapest. Muggles were generally poor, right? Right??

... Well, that pretty much settled it. This girl didn't know what she was talking about, being so dismissive of reading. Reading could do anything justice, and more often than not it was much easier to understand something from a book than it was to actually experience it in real life. A lot of extraneous variables affected the real life experience, sights and sounds and smells and emotions and other overwhelming data, but on a page things could be laid out and as detailed as possible and still be easier to process. Daxton was of the belief that reading could do everything justice, even, and perhaps especially, magic.

But he decided not to dwell on that part, because what would be the point? The rest of the it had Daxton confused though, as he had no idea how to respond. The boy sat and puzzled over Genny's words for a few moments, before he eventually flipped over to a fresh page (the previous one had become too full), put pen to paper, and wrote back.

'I think I might like to know what those books are.
I don't know. My mum believed him very quickly and she is always very careful. But I thought someone might be playing a trick on me at first, even though I already knew I must be magic or something because of the things I can do.'

Daxton paused, and re-read that last sentence. He'd been debating how much of that information he'd wanted to provide, but in the end reasoned that 'accidental magic' was a common enough occurance that it didn't really give anything else away.

'Once I came to this place it was easier to believe that the school exists because I hear people talk about it.
Have you managed to do magic before, by accident or something?'

With that final sentence, Daxton tilted the book back towards Genny and watched her carefully, eager to know this little detail. And, of course, a whole lot of other information, but one thing at a time. There was such a thing as information overload.

Kenzie sat down as he nodded, sorting her skirt as she sat so that there wouldn’t be any creases in it when she stood up again. Wouldn’t do to spoil the whole look and effort with creases - right? She should really invest in finding out some quick steaming charms so that she could get rid of creases if and when they arose. Hmmm.

Oh, wait. He was paying attention to her. What? Oh, right… his name. Nice. ”It’s lovely to meet you JD, thank you for letting me sit here.” She said, taking a sip from her drink. ”I didn’t want to sit on the grass.” What? It really would muck up her dress and she had to go back to work soon.

”I’m McKenzie.” Merlin, where were her manners… maybe his good looks had distracted her? Yes… yes that was it. Completely it. ”Enjoying England’s one day of our Spring?”, she added motioning to the beautiful clear blue sky; the first really nice day they had had in April so far.

Jory lapsed briefly into silence, consumed by his own thoughts. Little did he know what was going on in Gwen's head. The thing was, he couldn't look away from Gwen even though he was occupied with his churning emotions. "I am?'' he questioned mildly. Without realising it, he had leaned closer to her. She was like a magnet, drawing him in.

"I don't know what you're going to say but it couldn't have been more important than this...'' Then Jory did something that he would not have done without thinking twice. He kissed Gwen softly on her lips.

He opened his eyes as he pulled back. Already, the emotions were drowning him, guilt and apprehension were the dominant ones.

I am? ‘Mhm’ Yes, he was right. Gwendolyn looked into his eyes, her heart beating faster and faster. How could someone be so amazing? As she was contemplating if she should be telling Jory what had been on her mind, Gwen heard him say something…

More important than what?

. . .

Gwen suddenly felt his lips against hers. Whaaaaaat? THIS IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING!!! Closing her eyes, she kissed him back. As much as she wanted the moment to last forever, Jory pulled back. ‘Jory, I…’, she started saying, somewhere between happiness and confusion.

‘I love you’

Jory couldn't anticipate Gwen'[s reaction to the kiss. Sometimes, she could be hard to figure out but that was yet another thing he liked about her... the mystery. He was half expecting her to slap him and was actually bracing himself for it.

But no...

There was no slap in store for him. Instead there were those three words he had wanted to hear from her. Jory simply pulled Gwen close and held her. "I love you, too,'' he told her, slightly cheered by the development of things. Here he was getting worried for nothing. But his happiness didn't last long because he soon thought of Ronnie. He would have to break her heart.

"Why didn't you tell me earlier?''
Jory smiled as he pulled back but this time taking Gwen's hand in his own. It was just a rhetorical question so no answer was needed.
