It was pleasing to hear that Headmaster Trent liked her answer and took it seriously and didn’t say anything about either hide and seek or yoga being too weird. Ellie listened in silence as the Headmaster gave a little textbook like speech before he proceeded to explain the first activity portion that was going to be game of dodge ball. Fun, practising with a partner would be awesome! The big question was though who should she ask to partner up? She didn’t know too many peers yet.

Grabbing a blindfold from off the pile on the floor Ellie raised the blindfold in the air and waved with it as she asked loudly, brown eyes scanning around. "Does anyone with a ball want to partner up with me?"

Nettie was quite thrilled that she got a ball because honestly? She had NO idea how she was going to be able to dodge balls without hearing the instructions from her partner. Were you just supposed to GUESS where it was going?? Her intuition wasn't exactly the best part of her personality, and usually got her in trouble. She could just see herself getting hit continuously with a ball...

Oh, right, they were partnering up. She needed to find someone with a blindfold. She heard a younger Gryffindor calling out for a partner nearby and approached her with a smile. "I can partner with you!" she chimed in.

Avalon breathed a sigh of relief. She was glad that Headmaster Trent had found her answer to be acceptable! But....dodgeball? It was undoubtedly one of Avalon's least favorite activities. She nearly had post traumatic stress disorder from remembering the welts on her legs after playing dodgeball with her older cousins. She hoped this game wouldn't involve such injuries.

Noticing that she didn't receive a ball, she grabbed a blindfold and scanned the room for a partner. Analiese seemed to be looking for the same. Avalon supposed it would be nice to partner with someone she already knew. Plus, she was pretty sure that Analiese wouldn't throw the ball so hard as to inflict pain if it hit her. "Hey Analiese! Want to partner up?" she asked as she approached, giving her fellow Ravenclaw a warm smile.

Proud of himself for having gotten the right idea about the lesson, Sammy moved to get a piece of equipment for the lesson and somehow ended up with a blindfold. He stood there for a moment staring at it then looking around the room at his classmates. Did the professor dislike him or something? He had feeling this wasn’t going to end well for him. He’d already lost enough blood at the fest and in his opinion, still looked a little pale as a result. (His nose hadn’t stopped bleeding for an hour and he hadn’t been able to find the hospital wing.)

The bright side was that Eleanor had obtained a partner and he didn’t have to worry about her blaming him for more bruises or her acting weird again when he offered to help.

But he wasn’t really sure who still needed a partner. So he kinda just stood there. ”Um…” he looked around.

Was the Headmaster thinking that he would like to pursue a career in robbing based on his answer? Well then he got him all wrong. "Don't worry Headmaster, i plan on becoming an upstanding Healer but think about it. Healer by day, robber at night. That can be a novel am i right?" He was joking of course.

Dorian had to step aside to see past a couple of students when a wall opened up and a pit with balls appeared. Dodgeball? He didnt like the sound of that... Wasn't that the game where you had to throw a ball at someone? Yeaah he wasn't a fan. Especially not when he heard the bit about the blindfolds.

He waited as the balls were handed out and the sixth years stomach seemed to flip when one wasn't handed to him. WHY was he not given a ball?! He needed a partner he could TRUST and preferably someone from the quidditch team because then he knew they could actually throw where they say they were going to throw...

With a deep sigh, Dorian grabbed one of the blindfolds before turning around. "Anyone with a ball still needing a partner? No? Ok cool" he did not want to do this.... He had been ready for some spell work THAT was why he had walked in so confidently...not....this.

Precious bean. Anna grinned, pleased with the praise from the professor. And as for not turning out “like the lot of them...” “I won’t.” And even though she didn’t have the slightest idea what that even meant, she said so with the utmost confidence.

Listening carefully to the lesson and the instructions for the activity, Anna nodded to herself. Then there was a ball in her hands and she needed a partner and how was she supposed to choose a partner when she didn’t know anyone?

Well... that boy looked a bit lost, so he might be a start. She made her way over to the older boy with the blindfold and tapped his arm with a finger. “Will you be my partner?”

Austin opted to get a blind fold. He was good at listening. He held the blind fold for a second before putting it on.

"Sure!" Analiese smiled back at Avalon. "I won't throw them hard." She was quite good at being gentle and graceful. She was good at gymnastics after all. She bounced the ball up and down and got comfortable handling it. In her muggle primary school, Analiese was one of the best ball game players. And her secret was... Just. Be. Gentle. And light footed.

Enough of Nethy Bridge. It was horrible there anyway. EVERYONE called her a freak. Not to forget 'The Daily Prank'. They made that a thing after she joined the school. It was almost always played on her. But she found ways to avoid it. Don't ask. They were way too complicated.

Ellie immediately second guessed her choice to take a blindfold and not a ball. With a soundproof room would that mean that she wouldn’t hear when her partner gave her instructions or threw a ball? Maybe this was bad? Also how was she going to know if her partner threw towards her head, face, chest or legs? Ellie guess that was where silent concentration came in?

Ellie was eyeing Sammy across the room that was carrying a ball, debating whether to ask him to partner when an elder eagle girl approached her with a smile offering to be her partner. This was a 1000 times better than asking Sammy so Ellie beamed back. "Sure I’d love to. I'm Ellie. So shall we get started? I get the blindfold on and you tell me when you throw the ball?" That was how dodge ball worked, yes?

Wasting no time since they only had 10 minutes she tied the blindfold over her eyes and took her position on the line Headmaster Trent had drawn on the floor, facing the other girl. Now she waited to dodge!

There was a tap at his elbow and it was probably a good thing that Sammy didn’t have a ball because he probably would have chucked it at the tapping person’s face for starling him. As it was he jumped a little and turned to see – Cookie girl standing by him. ”Um…” he paused wondering if he shouldn’t find someone his own age. Would it be unethical to throw a ball at a blindfolded someone who looked like they were barely old enough to know how to tie their shoes? But the alternative looked to be getting an older student and he didn’t like the looks of them – because he just saw balls whacking him in the face and giving him another bloody nose. Nope…Cookie girl was fine. Besides, she didn’t look too perky (yet).

”Sure,” he finally voiced with a nod. It would probably help to know her name, though, especially for the instruction portion. After all, ‘hey you’ and ‘cookie girl’ might get confusing. Right? ”I’m Samuil,” he said starting to put his blindfold on. ”Um, since you can see, maybe you should go over there?” He said tying the blindfold in place.

"Actually, I do mind," and unlike Lenora, Nina wasn't beyond giving the girl a thin-lipped, disingenuous smile before turning around to look back at everyone else. She needed a new partner. Only there was one issue: Everyone else had already paired off.

....... Why did she have the worst luck of all time?! This was so unfair!!! If only she had gotten to Navid first, this would have been a nonissue.

After throwing an inaudible fit (aka making a face and bouncing in place a couple of times), the Slytherin turned back to Lenora Bell. Nina was a sore loser. And so, wordlessly, she walked over to the other side of the line... toying with the blindfold before loosely slipping it on, making sure that she could still sneak a peek underneath it.

Let Lenora aim a ball at her face? Absolutely not.

Dodgeball? Kaiser had never played before. He'd played football, plenty of times, but he supposed that was about as similar to dodgeball as it sounded. One thing was obvious though, both involved a ball, and Kaiser just happened to be one of those students who had been given one.

So, he supposed he needed to... find someone to partner up with, right? Well, sure... he would get to that. For now, though, he'd just pass the time with some kick ups.

He was still doing this when he heard someone call out for someone with a ball, which was pretty convenient. Meant he didn't have to go searching. "I have a ball," he called back to the Ravenclaw, without pausing from kicking the ball up into the air over and over again. "I will throw it at you, if you like." Who could pass up an offer like that?

Well...Eloise wasn't going to deny it or anything since judging in silent is what she liked to do in class anyway so all she did was smile and shrug. And they could always know after the fact so it didn't bother Eloise since he did say she wasn't wrong.

Non-verbals were cool in all but what really got her attention was when Headmaster started talking about dodgeball. And listening to she did until she understood what was going on. Shame she didn't have or could have Nina as a partner this could have been fun.

Aww, cirice she didn't have a ball. That sucked.

Waving her hands in the air she said

"Hey Hey who needs a partner!"

Anna noticed the hesitation, she did. She wasn’t clueless; she knew that she wouldn’t be the first choice for an older boy to partner up with for an activity like this. He wasn’t her first choice either, in case he was wondering. They were both making sacrifices here.

And don’t worry, she wasn’t going to make it easy for him.

She smiled sweetly when he agreed. “Samuil. I’m Anna.” She nodded to his suggestion and went to the other side of the line indicated by the professor. “Okay,” she said, loud enough for Samuil to hear her, hopefully. Now... she was supposed to be super detailed this time, right? She tossed the ball between her hands. “So, I’m going to throw the ball with my right hand? Um. And I’m going to aim for your left shoulder. The squishy part, not the bone.” Was that detailed enough? Hopefully, ‘cause she didn’t know what else to say. “Um... one, two... three!” And... she threw the ball, doing her best to hit where she told the boy she would.

The headmaster was not one for subtlety, was he?

Non-verbals, however. This was something Eiji was keen on and had tried - with absolutely no progress - to perform himself. Though his real aim was wandless magic, being able to summon ingredients and tools to his whim without having to pause for his wand or anything. All stepping stones, he supposed. Though this eagerness quickly faded at the mention of dodgeball.

"Me," he said with a small smirk, tossing the ball in his hands up in the air lightly and catching it. Normally trust exercises he would prefer to do with Missa...or maybe even Nina. But this, well, it was best suited for the likes of Eloise really. "Get that on and we can start."

Dodgeball? Oh no. Maeve didn't like the sound of that. Granted it wasn't like she was going to be pummeled with balls; just one with announced and one surprised unless there were strays for people who couldn't throw. As she couldn't. She didn't like the idea of throwing but even worse, she didn't like the idea of having something thrown AT HER.

Please let me get a ball she wished for silently, as she listened to the Headmaster state more about the instructions. And yet ... no ball in hand.

Where was Chase when she needed him? Or Anna? Or Kamryn? Preferably the first two since they played Quidditch Chasers and she trusted them to throw at her in a safe and gentle manner. With a sigh, the blonde went and collected a blindfold and then waited cautiously for someone with a ball to claim her as a partner. She wasn't going to go out of her way to find them cause no offense, but she really did not fancy this activity. At all.

Sebastian nodded agreeing with the Headmaster. “Of course. You also need ingenuity, precision, intelligence, and the proper skills to create the perfect prank.” He said with a small grin. Though he had no current plans for a prank…you never knew when one could be brewing.

And then suddenly...they were moving on!

Looking down to see that he indeed had a ball, Sebastian looked around for anyone that had a blindfold. “I’ve got a ball anyone got a blindfold that doesn’t have a partner yet?” He called out around the room. Hopefully someone would grab him. If not…well…this would be interesting.

"Oh, no, of course not, Professor, I would never do such a thing," Gunnar, a picture of innocence, told the Headmaster as he responded to his previous answer. "Hexing someone with their back turned is a rather cowardly move, don't you think?" And a coward was something he definitely was not. But he was sure the person to whom he was referring knew exactly what he was talking about, even if he could see she was trying to ignore him. Maybe she finally learned the benefits of silence after all.

And it was time for an activity. Gunnar liked the hands-on, practical bits of this class, and he turned his eyes towards the Headmaster again as he opened up a ball pit. Huh. Interesting.

Oh.....dodgeball. He supposed that was simple enough, even if he'd rather get into spellwork right away. Taking a ball from the professor, he turned to his side to ask Kaiser if he'd want to partner up, since he was standing right next to him and was the most logical choice. But before he could do that, his sister was rushing towards him.

".......oh, okay, sure," he answered her with a reassuring smile, having an idea of why she seemed a bit anxious. After her injury, the prospect of blindly getting hit with a ball might be a daunting one. Waiting till she retrieved one of the blindfolds, he lightly tossed the ball back and forth between his hands. "Do you want to throw first or should I?"

"Hi Ellie! I'm Trinetta, but you can call me Nettie," she replied, introducing herself to the girl. She nodded as Ellie repeated back the instructions and then took the ball, tossing it a few times in her hands as she walked to the area where they were lining up.

Ok, so she had to describe WHERE the ball was going to go, and then the second time, she DIDN'T say anything and hoped Ellie somehow could read her mind. Yes? That was what she'd gotten out of the instructions at least.

"Ok, I'm going to throw it towards your left. Aiming for your arm," she explained. She certainly wasn't going to throw it at her FACE! That was rude! Who would do such a thing? Once she'd shouted the instructions, she wound up and threw it. She knew it was going to be relatively on target - thanks to her Chaser training - and hoped Ellie had good reflexes...

"Thank goodness!" Avalon replied with a laugh. "I have a feeling that dodging the nonverbal throw is gonna be difficult. And I was not looking forward to leaving here with a giant bruise." She watched as Analiese bounced the ball a few times. Slipping on her blindfold, Avalon shook out her legs and arms, loosening up before they started the activity. "Ready to give this a go?"

Ball? Austin walked up to the mystery boy. "Can I be your partner?" He asked. Austin agreed he'd at least try to talk but that didn't mean he'd yell across the room.

"It’s nice to meet you Trinetta!" Ellie said with a smile right before she had put on the blindfold over her eyes. Not seeing was causing her to tense up and she without actually knowing that she did it put all effort into hearing and sensing when Nettie was making a move. A pretty hard task considering that they weren’t the only ones out on the floor doing this game.

Breathing in and out and trying to keep calm Ellie waited for Nettie to say something like the Headmaster had instructed. The elder girl was probably debating whether to aim her first ball at. Hopefully not at her face. She guessed that if it had been Sammy then he had aimed for her face without a moment’s doubt both times. They weren’t really friends per say more like frenemies.

Hearing Nettie’s voice shouting where she was aiming the ball and moment later she threw. Ellie would have managed to dodge since she heard and sensed the ball coming if it hadn’t been for the fact that she mixed up the left and right in the nervous moment and thus dodged with the wrong arm. When the ball struck her left arm hard she grimaced and let out a small shriek "Ouch!" as she rubbed her arm. "I’m okay Nettie, honest! It was my fault. I mixed left and right up." Ellie quickly reassured. "Go again!"

This just got interesting. REALLLY interesting.

Bouncing the ball on the floor, she looked around for a partner, because as soon as Eiji had gone on with Eloise - she feared that she would be left all alone with no one to hit, and no one to get hit by.

Until she saw someone she had seen around the school but hadn't really talked to yet. "Hey, I got a ball" she said, approaching her with a grin.

Was she a bit too excited about this?

She was.

If he had to be honest, he had hoped that no one would answer his question because then he could have told the Headmaster that he had not found a partner and THEN he could have watched from the side. It wasnt as if he was afraid of the game.. He just wasn't comfortable with having his vision taken away as he always wanted to know what was happeningen. And how could he do that blindfolded?!

As his classmates started making pairs, the Ravenclaw had a tiny bit of hope that no one would want to work with him when one of the Slytherin's answered.

Great....

He recognized him but a name did not pop up inside his mind. "alright..." ugh if he HAD to do this he'd rather get it over with quickly so that he could get the ball.

He walked to the opposite side, took a deep breath and hesitated for a moment. How good was this guy's aim? He hated not knowing! He lifted up the blindfold and secured it over his eyes. Mweeeh he did not like this! "Okay, i'm ready" No he was noooot T__T

Rylee fell completely silent as the instructions for the activity were given out. Honestly this sounded like a pretty wicked to test their reflexes as well as giving direction to someone. She was more than ready to test her skills and see where she might need a bit of work.

Accepting one of the blindfolds that was being handed out, Rylee looked around as everyone slowly started partnering off. "I have a blindfold, does anyone still need a partner?" The lioness held her blindfold up giving it a light wave about as if to draw someone attentions to her. Hey, it might work.

Hopefully whoever she ended up partnering with knew how to give directions and wouldn't end up hitting her in the face. Bouncing slightly on her heels she was prepared and more than ready to give this a try. Now who wanted a partner?!
