Default What will you miss most about Harry Potter?

The end of the series brings the end of many things. What will you miss the most about this amazing journey from a young boy to a grown adult?

Will it be Fred and George's hilarious humour? Will it be Ron and Hermione's constant bickering even though it was obvious that they liked each other? Post it here!

wow, first to post
I think I'll miss the lovely hours with the Weasleys the most, but also the kind of home feeling Hogwarts always gave me...
Why, I almost felt like I was a witch at times
I'm quite sad, it's found it's end now, but it was a terrific end, I must admit.
I grew up with Harry Potter and his stories and really feel like it is a part of my life thats finished now, though while reading in these books, almost gives me the feelings back, I just love them

I tried to read this last book slowly, knowing that it would be the final time I'd read a Harry Potter book wondering what would happen next. It'll still be nice to read them all again, though, for things I missed the first five times.

Anyway, I'll really miss the whole magic feel of the books. The way that we've been with the characters so long, they feel like our friends as well as Harry's. And yes, those Weasley family scenes where everyone is at The Burrow are the kinds of things you don't realize you're going to miss until it's too late. And Fred and George's jokes!

Oh man. What's not to miss?

I almost didn't realize it was the last book until I turned the last page to the epilogue. It's actually depressing really. We've all grown up with him, and now to think that he's gone and we can't follow him along.. it really sucks. I'm really going to miss his adventures (getting himself into trouble), Fred (*cries*) and George's ways of words into everyones conversations.
Each year brought something totally and differently knew. To bad that his year ended at seven..

I'm really going to miss Harry Potter and everything fantiscal about his world, the Marauders, and Hogwarts.

Goodbye, for now Harry Potter!

Just the simple excitement and anticipation that forced me to read for hours on end. I was always so excited to pick it up and find out what happens to everyone next, I'll sincerely miss it.

It will probaly be the anticipation of what is going to happen and the emotion of things. Knowing that I will never hear anything new about the characters and what happens. I treasure the little things in the book that don't really matter (even though in the 7th there was very little of that)

I grew up through my most maturing years with harry and it has become a part of me. I did alot of changing from grade 6 to now in grade 10 and i did it reading harry potter. In the past 2 years I have only read one other novel that hasn't been harry potter.

It's hard to believe it's the end, because for the past couple years It has always been 'wait till the next book'

now there is no waiting.

Severus. Although I can make up endless stories and read his endless cold remarks, nothing can really bring him back. I will miss him so much. He was so misunderstood, yet people thought the worst of him. They refused to belive that a human can change their ways, because they didn't find him human. Well, for them, it is now too late to re-think, and that's just sad.

Firstly, I will miss the sheer excitement that always surrounded the release of a new Harry Potter book. Everytime when a book was going to be released, that whole month the country was devoted to Harry Potter and everyone was so excited

I will also miss being able to delve into that magical world, even though I will be able to any time I read the books, it won't be the same as entering the world when it is a new book, if anyone gets what I mean? It is always a different feeling when you are reading a new book.

The companionship between the trio, the twins, Ginny, Luna and Neville, all these normal kids, who are not the most popular kids at school (except perhaps for the twins) and yet they have this connection that I believe a lot of people would dream to have between them and their friends.

There are so many little things that I am going to miss. Everything is going to missed. Everything that JK has come up with in the last decade has been amazing and I am so happy that she brought this world into our lives.

What with the films, the Potter encyclopedia, SnitchSeeker and the Harry Potter Society I'm a part of...it's not really ended, so I don't miss it. Yet.

That's true, but I guess now we can bask in the glory of the books and the series as a whole, the next movie wont be out for a year a half and the encyclopedia, who knows when that will be out, but having SS, will def make it easier to deal with

Even though it's not really ended, as we fans will carry the legacy on in FF's and such, I think what I'll mi ss most is the unique ability to have me gripped to the edge of my seat, waiting for the next part, and the fact that several thing are left unanswered until later on in a trivial way.

Also, I think I'll miss the bond that Harry, Ron and Hermione have.

The books grew up with me. They've been there throughout the troubled teenage years, since I was 13. I was lucky to follow the series from the very, very beginning, so it's a bit weird that, that too, had to end.

I'll miss the first time I picked up Philosopher's Stone off my book-shelf, bored beyond belief, allowing myself to give that book a try. I had never read anything, in those days, that made me feel like never wanting to put the book down.

I'll miss the Ron and Hermione moments, the Weasley sense of humour, Arthur's obsession about plugs and batteries and the underground, that thing you felt when the misteries began to unravel, Dumbledore's obsession with weird words and, most of all, Sirius and Ron.

I won't certainly miss Hagrid.

I will miss so much about the Potter books. They've been a part of my life for ten years. It was in 1997 when I was in 3rd grade (8 years old) that I went to my school's book fair and picked up Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone off the 'New Releases' shelf. My teacher recommended it, and it had a nice cover, so I read it. Since that first page, I've been hooked ever since. I had waited for every single copy after that...CoS, PoA, GoF, OotP, HBP, and my first and last 12:00 AM release to get DH.

I've read them all in one day starting with GoF. I was old enough to have that stamina to finish it in one go. I set a personal record with DH when I read it on the 21st from 1:45 AM - 12:15ish PM. Less than 12 hours!

It was an escape...and a way for me to become more intelligent. I am a very good English student (not meaning to brag), and because of that, I have always loved to analyze and discuss books. This particular series has presented me with the mother load of literary excellence and symbolism. It made me thirst for deeper meaning and discussion. It made me expand my mind...and morals. It really helped me reinforce my religion when I was younger. I have always gone to Catholic school, and with Harry's boarding school, I felt a little better about going to a more unusual school.

But it was mostly my childhood. It was like what Stephen King said in his farewell to Harry Potter in Entertainment Weekly magazine:
Quote:
hink how it must be for all the kids who were 8 when Harry debuted in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, with its cartoon jacket and modest (500 copies) first edition. Those kids are now 18, and when they close the final book, they will be in some measure closing the book on their own childhoods — magic summers spent in the porch swing, or reading under the covers at camp with flashlights in hand...
That is my life. That is the definition of my life. I did those tihngs. It wasn't just at camp. Every night at like 2:00 AM, I'd be up with the flashlight, my mother yelling at me. Now, I read in the open late into the night and early into the morning. I'm going to college and have to grow up. *sulks*

BUT, if I had to choose the one thing that I will miss most about Harry Potter, I have three words for you: Ronald Bilius Weasley.

I was the exact same, I started mine in 3rd grade when the teacher read the book to us as the "class reading time" book, I got hooked. I also remember going to a book fair and picking up CoS and PoA from the shelves, my mum said I could only buy one so I chose CoS so I could read them in order. I then borrowed books 3,4 and 5 from other people. Brought book 6 and 7 myself and will one day, own the whole collection to persuade my children to read! It's been such a long journey, its so sad! And I will miss Ron so much as well, he was and always will be my favourite character!

Everything Duh! LoL!

But seriously I will miss rushing to get the book at midnight, Potter Partys, and just the joy of that first time magic you get when you read a book for the first time. Of course I will have them forever to read to my children and grandchildren and my kids got to finally go to this last midnight party but our feature kids won't have that. I miss it for them. We made history with Harry Potter and I'm sad for all those that missed the wonderful opputunities that came with the release of the Harry Potter Books.

While yes they will get to enjoy the magic but it won't be the same because now they can always skip ahead and won't have to wait and find out as we did.

So another words I miss the magic the books caused for our future generation.

I'm going to miss everything single thing about the books.. they have grown up with me, it's been like my whole childhood..
It's been great actually growing-p with the trio..
What I think I'll miss most is the waiting..
Y'know the wait you have between books where we all come online and speculate whats gonna happen next.. I LOVE THAT!!
Ahh.. I'm gonna shut up before I start sobbing..
Just wanted to say thank you so much to Joanne.

I'm going to miss the innocence of the first three books...but after the last book I think I'm going to miss the anticipation of waiting for the books to come out. When all the movies come out I don't know what I'm going to do!
