I have to admit, I was really surprised to see Ron jealous of Harry's attention to Hermione. I wouldn't be surprised by Ron being jealous of Harry's talent, or attention or something, but c'mon! Harry and Hermione? I always thought that it was quite clear to Ron that Harry and Hermione had a platonic relationship. I practically fell off my chair during the destroying the locket scene.

...hmm...

i would have to say where the Death Eaters had killed Harry's Owl Hedwig - Hedwig has always been around Harry...through the bad and through the good. It's sad to know that Hedwig was mad at Harry at that time, and would not communicate with Harry. That really got to me when they killed Hedwig...

Hedwig

Then the next part was Lupin and Tonks - I was so happy to hear that they had a Baby boy. But i didn't like that they went to Hogwarts to help find. Then to find out that they both were killed. They died knowing that they help Harry, but also knowing that little Teddy will not know how good of a parents he had. I literally cried when i found out that they both were killed. That caught me totally by surprise.

Lupin and Tonks

Then there was one last person that had past and that would be Fred Weasley - I was really hoping that all the weasley's were going to make it through. Just how in the book describe his death happening so sudden it's just really sad. Also reading the details of Mrs. Weasley lieing on the floor next to Fred, crying, was good enough for me.

Fred Weasley

That had to be one of the most moving parts in the book. I cried like a baby. Poor Ron - I hated that he had to go through that.

I think Ron knew that Harry and Hermione were just friends. But the horcrux locket effected him the most. It made all of Ron's insercurities and worse fears come true.

Thumbs up Harry Lives on in Our Hearts!

I finished the book today, as of 5 minutes ago and could not wait to get on SS and discuss all that had been laid out before me. I supposed I suspected all along (even from the first two books) that Ron and Hermoine were destined for each other, but I must admit it was Harry's fate that eluded me the most. I debated between Cho and Ginny for quite some time, esp. when Cho wanted moments alone with him at Hogwarts on the way to the Ravenclaw House. I think what most shocked me was the fact that Snape had a heart all along, and was truely out to support and help Harry. It felt like the ultimate betrayal when I read that he had killed the Headmaster, not knowing this was Dumbledores wish all along. But it also warmed a spot in my heart for the greasy, sneaky man that was Servus Snape when I discoved the true plot, and made me understand all the more why he made the choices he did.

In all, I loved the book down to the very last word. I found that I could not put it down once I was barely half-way in. I find it sad though, that JKR would not want to continue on with her characters stories (besides the encyclopedia), but I understand it all the same. It was a wonderful series that allowed the minds of adults and children to expand into the wizarding community, unbound. Many thanks to JK Rowling for affecting my life the way she has with her wonderfully worded bedtime stories.

Fred's death because I've always thought that the Weasleys will get through the war without losing a member but I thought wrong, obviously.

Dumbledore's youth. I mean, it came a bit unexpected for me.

Dumbledore's youth shocked me the most.

How many people actually were killed (including Fred which was the most shocking death for me!).

Harry's apparent death, which was an interesting way of going about Voldemort's end.

Hedwig's death. This was so sad, i nearly cried. It was the least i expected to die

What interested me the most is how Harry and Tom are actually, distantly related.

While I think the death of Hedwig was the most shocking piece of action in the book, the entire book itself took me by surprise, mainly the enormously poor writing, poor attention to detail, blatant plot holes, the brushing off of her own pre-set rules in the wizarding world. I found it shockingly bad and dismal compared to her other books. When you read the first six, there's no doubt that a lot of thought went into those to make sure all facts matched up from book to book, that characters were consistent, etc. This one, ugh. It just reads like it was written in haste. She completely brushed aside what she had previously written in order to further the plot in this book (the use of Polyjuice Potion, how spells disappear after a person dies yet Moody's remained, how the spells on the Burrow disappeared when the Ministry fell when the spells cast were made by the Order, how a Trace can seemingly override botht the Fidelius and Unplottable charms, I could keep going). Baby criticisms, if left few and far between can be overlooked, especially if it's just one book. But this, there are tons and with six other boosk preceeding this, and the lgeions of fans that can nitpick their way through it, it's too much. It seemed to me that she needed to write something and brushed off her previous set facts in the hopes that the readers wouldn't notice and if we did then we just wouldn't care. I am so disappointed in this book.

Hmm.. well there was Fred's death that surprised me ofcourse, but I was expecting a few deaths so it didn't surprise me all that much..
I didn't see it coming that harry himself was a Horcrux though, nice touch. And the battle in Hogwarts, with the resistance lead pretty much by Neville. Very nice.

1.The high death toll.
2.Kreachers change
3.Draco not giving Harry away... same goes for Narcissa
4.Duddley not thinking Harry is a waste of space.
5.Lucius subdue behavior (in the first chapter it looked for me as though he was asking Narcissa what to do/ how to react)
6.The lack of Dementors at the attack at Hogwarts
7.Mollys face off with Bella
8.Ariana Dumbledore
9.That Grindelwald was still alive
10.Peeves
