I expected something like that, and I'm really happy about the end - nevertheless I'm so sorry for him, for his life and his one-sided love

Snape was one of the most predictable things in the whole series... one thing I guessed wrong - I thought his Patronus was a Spider
I totally knew there would be more of his memories, that part I liked the most, because it was about the Marauders whom I so dearly love

Me too. I kinda predictied he loved Lily all along. He died a hero. I felt kinda sad reading about it.

That was so romantically tragic. Snape and Lily....I'm gonna HAVE to make a cool siggy over it.

I was fairly close to the mark with Snape. JKR made him rich and complex, and she used clever misdirection in writing his character. I'm glad that he (and I) were vindicated in the end though.

I felt bad for Snape and the whole Lily thing. I knew everything that happened to Snape would happen. But I still felt sorry for him.

Though I've got to admit I never particularly liked Snape... I've got to admit that I was quite sad that he died (though relieved at the same time 'cause I had read a spoiler saying Ron and Snape died and was later told that actually just one of them did XD And me luffs Ronikins more, sorry) and the way he did was just horrible.

But yeah, the whole Snape/Lily thing was something I had expected *nods* Though I never thought they were THAT close o.O

same here i always assumed it was totaly one sided! that he loved her and she didnt know he was even there!

I was so sad he died! but i felt vindicated because jo trying to tell us he was bad but i said when i read HBP i said Snape was good and that DD had asked him to kill him!

Snape really surprised me, I mean, he loved Lily, but they used to be friends with each other! And his death at the hands of Voldy was kinda predicted.

I know why Jo picked Alan for the part, he will do great, "Look at me" in his crispy voice... chillllls...

Snape's story have been predicted so many times, in theories and fanfics, that I was expecting something different instead.
I don't know, JKR has thwarted us so much before that just for that I was ready to expect anything else but the Snape/Lily thing.
Anyway, that's not too bad, just very sad.
What I did not like at all was his way of dying, I think he deserved a chance to fight for his life.

I would have preferred them as friends. Because I'd die for the people I loved, not necessarily would they have to be people I'm in love with. I highly expected the Snape/Lily but I still didn't like it.

However, I can wear my 'Snape is Innocent' t-shirt with pride now at least.

I loved Snape. There was always something about him but i never quite got how much his role of protection was.

He had the best death in the entire thing.

I was really surprised with the whole Snape being good thing. But I thought it was very well done.
First I cheered when he died, because I thought he had his comeuppance, but then the pensieve came up. I was almost crying at that point. That bit was very well written, and actually quite emotional.

One of the best storylines in the book, let alone the series.

second that. I was hoping and hoping that JKR would not turn it into this. Being 'good friends' with Lily would have been sufficient enough to give Snape's actions a motive.

I kind of expected something like this to happen with him, but at the same time I really didn't expect it to happen. I honestly did not know what to believe. Was he good or was he bad? After reading HBP and the majority of DH, I was convinced he was bad, until the moment of the pensieve. Then I was really confused and wasn't sure how to feel about him. Obviously, he was working for the good side and wasn't bad, but it did come as a little bit of a shock for me. I absolutely loved all the memories of him and Dumbledore throughout the years. And the whole thing with Lily was totally unexpected! I loved that too...it was cute that they knew each other before Hogwarts.

I loved the unrequited love bit. Made us feel sympathy towards Snape, made him more tragic-hero-esque.

I completely loved Snape by the end of it, purely pity love. Poor guy, unrequited love and never getting a chance to be with anyone else! It's just so sad! I knew he was on the good side though, but i wish he didn't have to die, he could have gone and married someone else and had a kid that went to school with h/g and r/hr's kids! sad!

I must say .. Tales of the Prince was an incredible chapter I didn't expect Lily & Severus to b friends in the least, i thought he just adored her I had solemly hated him after Dumbledore's death My respect for him has risen up on the board

I didn't expect Severus and Lily at all....i knew them to have been friends. But not that close, not the reason snape was even at hogwrats as a teacher. I didn't expect him to love her like he did. I feel soo guilty for hating him at times, when we see that he did it all for lily everything he did to harry, was to help protect the love of his life's son. It was soo sweet....he was really a great guy.

After Dumbledore's death, I hated Snape... but had a secret hope that he would vindicate himself in the end. Which he did, and now we understand that he was acting on the wishes of Dumbledore to kill him.

Such a horrible way to die - why didn't voldemort just Avada Kedavra him?

Poor Snape. I had a vague idea that he was good, but I wasn't really sure. Just...wow.
