Default Polyjuice Potion

What do you think about the new use of Polyjuice Potion?
Hermione and Fleur becoming a Harry?

It was used a lot through out the book. I was surprised because I don't think we'd see that potion in this book because it was used twice already. Someone must have been brewing a lot of that stuff, too for as much as they used through out the book.

I thought The Seven Potters was great. It really was a good plan but like I said where did they get all of that potion from if it takes one month to brew and the change in the plan was sudden? But that chapter had some really funy lines - the best in the book - my favorites are:

Quote:
"Yeah 13 of us against a bloke who's not allowed to use magic; we've got no chance"
Quote:
"Ooh, you look muuch tastier than Crabe and Goyle, Harry"
Quote:
"Wow - we're identical"
Quote:
"I dunno, though I still think I'm better-looking."
Quote:
"Bill don't look at me - I'm 'ideous"
Quote:
He felt like asking them to show a little respect for his privacy as they all began stripping of with impunity, clearly much more at ease with displaying his body than they would have been with their own.
Quote:
"I knew Ginny was lying about that tattoo"
Quote:
Fluer walked over to stand beside him, giving him a soppy, slavish look that Harry hoped will all his heart would never appear on his face again.

i really was surprised how much they did use it throughout the book. it got me thinking that either they found a way to make it faster...or they just made loads of it during the summer! i liked this part where fred and george were talking right after they took the Potion:
Quote:
Fred and George turned to each other and said together, "Wow-we're identical!"
I dunno, though, I think I'm still better-looking," said Fred, examining his reflection in the kettle.

The use of polyjuice is effective and it's good enough to do what they needed in that ammount of time. From the seven potters to getting into the ministry. I found it funny how Fleur thought she looked bad though

I personally think Seven Potters Idea was brilliant and then Hermione stealing it and using it to go to the ministry was even more brilliant. And using it after that too to change a few more times.

Yeah, it was used very often in this book. It's a very useful potion when you think about it; people rely too much on only one of their senses and thus it'd be very easy to fool people.

I read the above posts, and some of you mentioned Harry and the rest of the Trio making a bunch of Polyjuice Potion during the summer? No, in the begining chapters it clearly states that they smuggled the potion from Mad Eyed Moody's stash after he was pronounced dead.

I wonder why Mad-Eye had soo much Poly Juice in the first place!?! Did he keep the extras from the imposter Moody back in GoF?

I don't think all the uses of Polly Juice will make it into the movie. The Trio spends a lot of time being other people in this book.

I thought Fleurs reaction to being Harry was the best! I loved it and couldn't stop laughing!

I thought that it lead to some quality quotes in the book (as above). However, I did feel like it was oh-so-convienient that they had a tub-full of polyjuice for all their needs. It did feel a bit too easy!

I don't understand where they got their very large stash of it considering how long it takes to make and they were using it every time you turned around.

I like how they utilized the potion but considering Rowling overrode her own facts on the potion for this book, I didn't like. It has been clearly stated throughout the series, starting from CoS, that PJ must be taken every hour on the hour in order for the effects to remain active. In this book, however, that rule doesn't apply. I can see it lasting for the rescue mission since I don't believe it would have taken that long but at the wedding? Harry had to have snuck some to remain Barney but we never see it. At the Ministry? They had to have been there longer than an hour and I doubt Hermione would have been able to swig from a flask in front of Umbridge without being conspicuous. Are we to assume that they just snuck drinks even though the situation would deem it impossible? Or was this new rule created for this book? If it's true that the more PJ you drink, the longer you remain changed, why wouldn't Hermione have stumbled on this fact in CoS and why wouldn't Crouch know this in GoF instead of them all dosing themselves every hour? I would think you'd want to be near such a disgusting potion as little as possible so if you can take more and have the effects last longer, why wouldn't Croody just down a bucket instead of subjecting himself to the potion every hour?

I think they used it way too much it was either that or 'Accio' that solved their problems XD

I loved the idea, but Fleur could have been less rude: "Don't look at me, Bill, im 'ideous." i mean, really!
and i loved these lines too:
"WOW, we're identical!"
"I don't know, I think Im still better looking."
"I knew Ginny was lying about that tatto!"
Loved them!

I think they used it a bit too much, but I couldn't say I was disappointed. I agree with whoever said that they doubted all the potion uses would make into the movie. But ya neva know.

I'm also with the confused people who don't know where the freaking polyjuice potion came from in the first place. Surely Moody didn't just randomly carry it around with him wherever he went, and I understand how Hermione did that whole thing to her purse, but how did she keep it from spilling all over her purse? any ideas
?

I liked the use of it tbh.
The store of Polyjuice Potion was Mad-Eye Moody's and it is said that it does run out so they cant make anymore.

I liked the use of it, but I just thought it would probably be a little awkward for Fleur and Hermione. I mean, yeah, that just must've been awkward. I don't mean to have a sick mind about that, but I can't help wondering....yeah, it just must've been weird.

I think it's one of those things in DH which is weird beyond belief. And I don't understand why people don't wonder about it.

Bwahhahaha.

Could it be that some of us, hoping to seem more sane, keep the funky/twisted comments to ourselves?

Aaah, the beauty of the wonders in the Harry Potter world.

You know...I never really thought about this. [[I take back my teasing rant above, Taxus. The more wondering--> the betterrr]] I guess there are flaws in every great idea. x]
