Default Harry's Progression

We've watched Harry grow up from 11, in each book growing and changing. We've seen all different sides of Harry - most recently angry Harry in Order of the Phoenix, and a more cool and collected down to earth grown up Harry in Half Blood Prince. What do you think about Harry's attitude and the way he grew and was presented in this book?

I loved Harry. I love the way he acted, and how he was. I'm very happy with his character.

I can't believe how he#s developed. He walked into death, that's gotta give him some credit.

I can't believe that the person we saw walk willingly to his death is the same person we saw at the Dursleys, cooking breakfast in the first book! He's made such a transformation, in courage and in skill.

I think he did great to progress so far, as even without people dying all around you a lot it's hard. I have to say, I am SO proud of Harry.

I enjoyed how he grew up, stopped feeling so guilty about receiving love, and finally let it save him. I liked that the most.

What I loved about Harry's progression was that the fact that he was young...but not. JK's assertion that age doesn't define whether a person is necessarily "grown up" was one of my favorite parts of the book.

I loved how mature he had gotten by the end. He was ready to face death! He always had it in him at the start, it just gradually got realeased as he grew up! I'm glad he didn't get as angry as in OOTP, he accepted Ron straight away whilst Hermione had some difficulties...

I would defantly say there were parts where he was angry *cough* Lupin *cough*. But overall, his progression was a joy to watch. More than anything else, Rowling's characters, their believabilty, humanness, and connectability, are what makes her series so great. She is truly a master of creating characters then skillfully developing them and Harry is the prime example of that.

Uh, I know this may sound blah-full to others, but he was too good. I don't know. I never liked Harry's character much because although he doesn't think he's that special---> He disregards alot of what others around him feel because he believed that they what he was going through was SO different. And, while he may have been, there's contradiction in his belief. XD

I must say, I was extremely shocked at how he managed to shrivel up Voldemort with words after he 'came back from the dead...' He did grow. In regards to physical attributes, wisdom, and his magical abilities. Immensely.

Yet, it was the very qualities that he claimed from the very beginning that did manage to save him in the end.

I never was a huge fan of Harry before this book. Something about him just bugged me. But he really, really matured in this book. He realized he didn't always have to do things alone, but at the same time he began to understand things more and was able to do certain things alone. Maybe that doesn't really make sense, but you probably get it if you read the book.

Harry has truly progressed through the series. At the end of the HBP, he finally became 'a man' in my eyes. Now, he solidified how amazing he truly is...he sacrificed himself for the entire Wizarding world.

I wasn't his greatest fan throughout the 6 books, there were always other characters I loved, hated, or simply was intrigued by more than ol'Harry. But in this one, I have to admit, I liked him. From beginning to end.

What a great way to give his character finality and depth. Go JK

Blergh, i cannot believe that i've finished the final book. i can't believe i'll never go line up and wait for hours to watch another grand opening for a Harry Potter book. I think he has matured so much more in this book, especially towards the end. He started thinking more sensibly, and he followed his instincts. He managed to control his anger, i'm pretty satisfied with how Harry is in the end.

He matured above and beyond my expectations, and I was surprised how much I didn't want him to die, by the end. Like I said in my LiveJournal: Harry Potter, I am SO proud of you.

I love the way he matured throughout his journey. From the moment we met him as a one year old boy who just lost is parents from the moment he discover he wasn't like every other boys and he was different. He have been challenge in every step he took during is time at Hogwarts and always win over everything. To see that he was strong enough to face death where most wouldn't do that. He shown a great courage by making a sacrifice of himself in order to save everyone else.
