I agree with Rootless.Tree. I thought the epilogue was too "fluffy" as you guys would say. And *points to avatar* Harry's children's names were horrible, even though he did try to honor the people he thought were heroes. He could've used them as middle names or something. Albus Severus...bleh. Child abuse.

It was too short! And i did not like how the last scene before the epilogue was in Dumbledore's office, I wanted details on what happened to the rest of the death eaters that survived that night, more about Ginny and Harry, more about Ron and Hermione, more about Neville, and more about hogwarts! Oh! As for the naming of Harry's kids, what about Sirius?!? I'm trying to make myself believe that James II's middle name is Siruis. I just wish it would have been stated. However, even though the epilogue was short, I was glad that there was a sugar-happy ending.

It was a rather sweet ending, but as many have said, I think it was too sugar coated. I mean, it was just so perfect that it didn't seem realistic! And she could've made it at least a little longer, maybe set a scene at Hogwarts so we would know what happened there too. She left quite a few questions for the readers, in my opinion. Though I don't really have any problem with the naming, I think she could have included the kids' full names to clear confusion. And for reference, James' full name is James Sirius Potter.

How did you find out that James II middle name was Sirius?

The epilogue was somewhat incomplete, I wanted more but so far it's alright. Mentioning Teddy in there...

James middle name was Sirius, They might have thought that (talking about the marauders) combining James' name with his best mate Sirius' name was perfect. It was like Harry's father, James, and His Godfather, Sirius, had reincarnated into one person and that is James Sirius Potter.

When I first read Deathly Hallows I really liked the epilogue. But once I re-read it, it just didn't seem to fit with the rest of the book, it felt out of place and very fan fic esque, I felt it almost wasn't up to scratch with the rest of the book. If J K Rowling has really had that planned and written since the beginning of the series (as she has said) then her writing has vastly improved, the epilogue felt out of place and too cheesy in comparsion with the mood of the rest of the book. ANd although at first I thought the naming of Harry's children was cute, when I re-read it almost seemed comical, as opposed to a tribute my first thought on my second reading was "is Lilly's middle name Dobby or hedwig?" afterall every other dead character got someone named after them!

well, i really liked everything of DH but the epilogue.
firstly, it was too short. i wanted to know more about harry and the others, e.g. their jobs and so on and i missed information about neville, luna, goyle, and all the others.
secondly, it was too happy. i like happy ends but not those 'the-world-is-good-and-coloured-in-pink'-endings. the whole family building thing was a bit too much of happiness.
and thirdly, i think it wasnt such a good idea of rowling to add new characters (that was confusing). if she wanted to add new chracters then she should have written more about them even something because i think the new-ones were just mentioned in interviews (for ex. astoria greengrass and lunas husband).

ah yeah, i forgot about these hilarious and ridiculous names: james sirius (oh please, thats not really original) lily luna (luna thats acceptable, but lily thats stupid and irritating) and albus severus (i didnt want to be named like an old school director and someone who has been hated by almost everyone). but ok, harry isnt really creative but ginny why didnt you add an idea??? but rose and hugo that fits to rons character...
but the names of harrys children were just irritating and confusing. (JKR, think of the little brains of your readers next time, please?!)
