I think it was awful. It was badly acted so you couldn't tell what the emotion was meant to be. I knew that in the books they had nothing romantic, but in this scene you just couldn't tell. Were they good friends having a dance? Were they about to kiss? No like.

I really liked this scene because I always felt they both had some intense feelings for each other that they had to get through before the went on to their respective love interests.

I loved it.

The books made it perfectly clear that Hermione/Ron and Harry/Ginny were destined for each other, and that was on from book 2.

But I always thought that, under different circumstances, Harry and Hermione might have formed a beautiful couple. I think the dance showed what might have been, without actually going down that route. At the same time, it didn't feel out of place for me, because it's exactly what I have done with familiy members and friends just for the fun of it.

Oddly enough-- I could see that it was totally platonic but then...I wanted them to kiss and I was disappointed that they didn't.

The movies have made me ship H/Hr although in the books I'm a solid H/G, R/Hr shipper. I think that it comes down to the fact that there was great chemistry between Dan and Emma and less between her and Rupert at least that is how I felt watching all 8 movies

I agree. I can't put my finger on it, but I never liked that scene. It's not like I hated it, but it was awkward and felt out of place. I'll have to watch it again to see if I change my mind. However, I'd take that scene over that awful scene in GoF where Harry was in the bathtub with Moaning Myrtle. *shudder*

I happen to like it. I also love the song that was played! It's one of my favorites now!

The first time I saw it, I was all o_O what even is this? What is Dan even doing?? Is that dancing!? STOP SHIPPING HARRY AND HERMIONE, YOU FOOLS.

But now when I watch it, I think its completely adorable, and that's saying something because generally, if its not in the book, I HATE IT. But I don't see it as Harry/Hermione propaganda at all. I simply think its Harry being a good friend by trying to cheer up Hermione. Its all completely innocent. And I know its awkward, but let's be real here. We're all that awkward with our friends. Don't deny it.

I really loved it because I felt it was Harry trying to cheer up Hermione. Nothing more. No hidden romantic feelings or anything - just something fun to do. They were sitting around doing nothing, Hermione was feeling horrible after Ron left, and Harry wanted to make his friend happy - even just for that one moment.
