Hogwarts RPG Name: Selena Black Second Year | Well I didn't really like her...
But I thought it was fine of her to die.
Of course, I did cry, but I was crying during that part anyways.
I knew Fred and Remus and Tonks were coming up...
Either way, I cried & am upset with all the deaths.

I never really liked Lavender but she shouldnt have died and her death touched me a lot. It was so sad how she was just laying there. I cried, like I did in many other deaths.

Just because you don't like her, doesn't mean she should die.

im agree. I think she's a little fun. I think it's a surprise, I reread the book and look at the chapter in which there is writing lavender dies, it turns out it does not exist

I don't really like Lavender, she's quite stupid, self centered and ugly.

Weel in the book it said something like 60 others died. It never said who except those (Fred, Tonks, Remus , Colin) it did say. So we never know.

In the book it just says something like "a gray blur darted across the hall to sink its teeth into one of the fallen" (from what I remember, but I think it's close). If it serves the same purpose as Colin dying, then that's fine. Lavender is more familiar to people who have only seen the movies (and being different from the book doesn't automatically make it bad anyway). The whole courtyard scene is so well done.

The book mentions that the trio sees Greyback attacking Lavender as they run past and Hermione zaps him with her wand, but it is left unclear whether Lavender dies or not (I think she is moving weakly or something the last time we see her), and then she isn't mentioned at the end, either as one of the dead or as one of the survivors. I guess the film people decided to have her more clearly dead to increase "the horrors of war" aspect of the movie, but I actually thought it was more realistic to leave it hanging--in a war you see people fall and you don't have time to find out what happened to them, but you have to keep fighting anyway.

I never really liked the actress and how she portrayed her, but I got disappointed that they killed her off. I guess she got killed instead of Colin Creevey. Oh well...

This was the moment that started my out of control sobbing the first time I saw the movie. It didn't really bother me though because JK never specified in the book if she lived or died, so the movie just decided to choose one of the options. It only bothered me because it was SO SAD. I just could not stop crying after that.

I actually like that a lot of main characters died in the 7th book and 7 Part 2 movie. It makes the war much more realistic. If all the good main characters lived, it wouldn't be very realistic, now would it? Adding Lavender into the mix isn't really that bad. Granted, I do cry whenever I read the book, and the one time I saw the movie I cried at all the deaths. But really, like I said before, if nobody died it would seem too "fake." Yes, I know Harry Potter isn't real, but with a realistic body-count, it's easier to believe it's real. At least for me

Okay, she might me snobby, self centered, is too jumpy, and completely stole Ron from Hermione, but her death was really saddening. Just seeing her eyes made me sob even more than I already was.

Honestly, I thought it would have been better if Lavender had survived the werewolf attack and would have to live her life just like Lupin did. Although I agree with the argument that it isn't realistic if main (though she's hardly a main character, but I get the idea) characters don't die in something as big as a war within the Wizarding World (and potentially the Muggle world). However, as tragic as death is, it would have been better for a little variety. There is some, don't get me wrong, George's ear, for example. But I will admit that the scene where she gets killed is very despondent. Hermione (if I recall) screams "no!" and then fires a spell at the werewolf, right? Gave me chills and I felt sad when I saw her blank gaze.
