Had a wicked storm here this afternoon which created a lot of damage, tree limbs down all over. One tree hit a house almost right across from us. Over 2300 people lost electricity. It was a mess. We could get more severe storms, but this time including tornados tonight. Just change my name to Dorothy and call my dog Toto because I know we aren't in Kansas anymore!

Dear Journal,

Neville here. Harry said that I have improved so much since the first DA meeting and I really believe it. I have been studying this like I do Herbology. I will not be unprepaired when the time comes to face the deatheaters. I went with my Gran over the weekend to visit my parents in the hospital. I only wish that somewhere in the Room of Requirement was a book that could help return my parents to me. I will right more later. I have to write a essay for Potions. Oh by the way Journal now with my DA training I am not afraid of Snape any more and he can't figure out why my grades are improving. He actually leared over me all last class trying to make me goof up my potion and I will always remember the look on his face when he tested it out and it worked. He looked like he had eaten a sour lemon.

Way to go, Neville! That is great! Snape gets to me too, sometimes! I dreamed once of slipping in an ingrediant that would make the vial smoke when he opened it, and that smoke would turn him into Elmer Fudd. (For you not familiar with this muggle cartoon character, he stutters like crazy and looks something like a cross between a bald old man and a little piglet without the snout and tail)

Today Fred and I develped a new and more power dungbomb. There was only two problems with this Fred had one in his pocket and we were at the Burrow when it bust. Mom is still yelling and Fred stinks to high heaven. They work perfectly see the new imrpovement that we added was everlasting stink powder and now mom has refused to let us back inside the house until we come up with an antidote for the stink.
Fred is in the shop working tirelessly for a cure and I can't stand to be around him for long periods of time so I told him that I was running out for supplies and have stopped in the Leaky Cauldron for a butterbeer while I wait for them to be delivered here in a bit. I have been here for about half an hour and the ingredients that Fred wanted have arrived so I must end this journal entry with the hope that Fred finds the antidote tonight because if he doesn't then I am in trouble because we share a flat over the shop and the stink will be unbearable before morning.

Dear Diary,
Today we were practising all the spell that we had learnt in the past few weeks. It was great. Michael wasn't trying to hex me! Hermione said that was because we were going out. I stole a few glimpses on Harry and I found him starring at only one person all lesson - Cho. He couldn't keep his eyes off her! Yeah, you would say why do I care since I gave up on him long ago and I have a boyfriend, but I still hope he notices me. I still love him....

Marietta Edgecombe was still mad at Cho for making here come here to this meeting. If she liked Harry then she should just ask him out. That Hermione thinks that she is so smart just because she can do alot of this defense stuff already. Well if my two best friends were trouble makers I would be able to do them to she thought as she tried to do Expelliarmus and failed again to disarm Cho. Hermione of course disarmed not only Neville but Ron as well. Ron is so cute she thought to herself for thousandth time today. I have a feeling that Ron has feelings for Hermione. Maybe if I were more like her I would have a chance. She again tried to disarm Cho and again she failed. I can help you with that said Hermione and I told her that if she wanted help she would have ask for it. Who does she think she is anyway and Ron looked at me like I was dumb I will so get her back for that She entered all of this into her journal looking for the perfect way to get even with the one person she knew that stood in her way for Ron's love.

We all learned how to cast our patronuses today! Harry taught us this incantation: Expecto Patronum. Everybody was pointing their wands in somewhere that they couldn’t hit anyone, which by the way was very difficult since there were a lot of us in one room.



I got mine the first time I tried! I was so excited once I saw that blast of silvery-white light blast off from the tip of my wand to the corner of the room I was pointing to. My patronus was an Otter! I read about patronuses and the book said that your patronus is linked to you in some way and it may vary to whatever life changes you experience. Of course, it doesn’t change every time you use it. Now, I’m wondering why mine is an Otter. I think I’ll go research Otters in the Library. Hopefully I can find something about it, like a metaphor or it’s a sign of something.

Dear Journal,

My mom sent me an owl today and told me to keep my nose clean. If that Harry Potter boy is still sprouting nonsense you are not to have anything to do with him. Needless to say I burnt her letter and sent one back of my own. I told her that Harry was my friend and I believed him. I also told her that she could not fault me for my beliefs because they were mine alone and to get off my back about this or stop writing altogether. I did not like to be firm with my mother but knowing her the way that I do, I knew that she would nag me to death about it if I did stop it now. I have been learing loads with the DA and when the time comes thanks to Harry,Ron and Hermione we will be prepared. Umbridge would let us die the cow.

Dear Journal:
Since there was no DA meeting tonight, Hermione and I got together and practiced some of what we learned at the last meeting. We practiced in our dorm room because it was just the two of us, so there was little risk of being discovered. It was great fun! Hermione picks things up so fast that it is absolutely amazing, and, even if she doesn't believe it, she is also a great teacher. With her guidance, I picked up the spells quickly, and even formed my patronis for the first time, which is a beautiful Golden Eagle! Anyway, we got to practice for about two hours before the other girls came up to bed. I am so excited I don't know if I will be able to sleep, but I have to try, I have a Transfiguration quiz tomorrow!

Dear Journal,

I think that my friends are showing vast improvements in all of there spell work and jinxes. The hexes are still giving some of us a bit of trouble but we will continue to work on them next meeting. I noticed her checking me out again today. When she looks at me like that it makes my knees weak. I think that she is really starting to like me. We have been friends for a bit now and I like her so much hopefully we will go out. I hear someone coming so I will close this now.

I sit here in my bedchamber and think of the days events. The other members of the DA are really coming along. Neville did accidently hex Marietta but that was easily corrected thank goodness. If we would have had to take her to the hospital wing because she had sprouted feathers or something bad like that then we could have all been expelled. The thought that what we are doing here could get my friends and my self into trouble haunts me as this was basically all my idea. Ron could be considered co conspirator but I could not do that to him. I can not seem to keep my eyes off of him and it is getting crazy. I think that I am developing a crush on him after all these years. I am afraid that it could ruin our friendship and that would break my heart.I don't know how to react to him when I get all fluttery inside whenever he walks by me. I write this here thinking seeing it written will give me some insight. It didn't work I still can't get his ginger head and smiling face out of my head. Hermione Granger

Dear Journal:
Today is going to be real exciting! We will be learning some advanced spells that our former professor, RJ Lupin, put together for us. Harry has been practicing them so he can show us the correct way to use them. Ron and I tried to sneak in to watch, but all we got for our efforts were a black eye for each of us. Harry loaded the peephole with these fists the twins used in their trick telescopes! Thank Merlin we have the salve to remove the bruise! We'll get him back! You wait and see.....I showed Ron an old Muggle trick and we short-sheeted his bed! Wish I could be there tonight when he crawls into it! Anyway, we are all excitied about learning those new spells! A few of them could help us with that Umbridge woman as well!
It is time for class, so I had better go. Don't want to be late for Transfiguration! Write more later.

I sit here in my room after an important lesson in the Room of Requirement.I have finally made some wonderful friends who do not judge me because I am different but except me for those differences.

I would have never thought that I would be practicing defense spells behind the back of the new Headmistress of Hogwarts but I am.

I am not in this alone there are close to 30 others of us who believe that the leaders of our little community have been taken over by the Hairy Finned frigleter. A fierce beast that will enter a person through there nose while they are sleeping and gain control. Once that happens your done for.

I will close this journal entry now because I have to locate my protection spell for the afore mentioned creature.

Dear Journal,

In this last lesson I so hoped that Harry would partner with me, but he did as he always does walks around and helps everyone while we throw spells and counter curses all over the Room of Requirement. I hit Marietta today with one and Harry thought that I did it on accident but I heard her talking about my man. Harry put her to rights and then came over and showed me how to do the spell properly Marieta's face told me I did it right the first time but Harry had a hold of my hand as he showed me the correct wand movements so who was I to argue the point. I will continue to throw myself in his way until he notices me.

Ginny finished writing in her journal so she placed her quill down and day dreamed of Harry.

Dude! We're learning about Vampires!!! I forgot to hand in my homework!:saddies: right gotto go!

Today's lesson was amazing!! I think Harry has started to notice me more!! I feel shy around because of how I often burst into tears over Cedric. I think Harry likes me though, I really like him. I almost laughed because he was watching me the entire time. It makes me feel bad though because I don't want to "cheat" on Cedric. It is so confusing!!

This is Luna! We had so much fun today in the Room for Requirement! We learned about all this cool magical beasts! Hermione “borrowed” *cough*stole*cough* this book from the Library called “The Abnormally Enormous Book of Magical Beasties”. Harry and Ron helped explaining what they do and how we could handle a situation in which we encountered them. Dad was writing about magical creatures for The Quibbler—this wizard (or witch) paper—and he sent me a copy. Luckily I put it in my pocket of my school robe! I fished it out and it was a big help in their explanations! It felt really good to be a big help!

Then there was this freakishly weird coincidence because Umbridge (no NOT professor), the warthog, gave us a surprise pop quiz for Defense Against The Dark arts that very same day! I answered them all correctly…at least I think I did….well, anyway, better go back to the tower! Dad said he’d send me his article about muggle dishwashers for the paper tomorrow! I’ll be the first one(we’ll after the editor of course…) to read it! I cant wait!!!

Dear Journal I sits in silence watching the classes, I am not allowed a wand, but I am as much a memeber of the DA as anyone else. I was told that I play an important part here and my friends will needs me and my magics when the time comes. until then I sits and watch and wait. I learns much from these meetings about creatures and how to defeat them with wand or without. I grow anxious for Harry Potter and his friends the war is so near now and i needs to be strong I ams training the others to help me defend the school and we will be ready. That is this house elf's promise. Dobby will protect his friends from the bad wizards, yes Dobby will.

UGGHHH Ron can be such a pain sometimes!!! Sometimes I hate him.

Dear Journal: I can't believe what Hermione Granger did to me! She is the worst!!!! Why can't they all understand that I was under SO much pressure that I simply had to turn them in to Professor Umbridge! They really shouldn't be sneaking behind her back anyway! But I just can't believe the curse Hermione put on that paper we signed when we agreed to join the DA! I have been so miserable because NOTHING will take the word "Sneak" off my forehead! The pimples are too big. I'M NOT THE SNEAK! That Hermione Granger is by doing this! The Minister of Magic said I was right to do what I did! So did Delores and my mum! I'm NOT sorry! But I am SO lonely now! No one will talk to me! Even the Slytherins laugh at me and they are the ones that benefited the most from the DA being discovered! But do they thank me? NO! They just look at me and laugh! I am SO alone! Cho still acts somewhat friendly, but I can tell she is only doing it out of obligation, not out of real caring. Bu then, she was one of THEM! I turned her in as well as the others, but I thought she might understand better and I don't think she does even though she and that Potter boy broke up basically because of what Hermione did to me. Harry thought I deserved it, but Cho DID defend me to a point, but I think our friendship is basically over as well. What have I done??? I WAS right to turn them in.... wasn't I?
