OK, here's the second topic open for dicussion. What do you think about Cho Chang betraying Dumbledore's Army?

I never liked Cho. Did she betray the DA or was it Marietta,her friend?

Agree with Alicia...I never imagine Harry with Cho. I don't like her at all...and I especially didn't like it when, Marietta betrayed DA and Cho was with her. I think Cho wouldn't betrayed the DA...or maybe she would, if she wouldn't have any other chance.

It was Marrieta who betrayed the DA in the books, however from what some reviews of the new movie are saying that Cho is the one who betrays the DA (Which I don't like that they changed that). I never did like Cho though as far as Harry goes, she seems way too fickle and emotional.

I thought it was Marietta too, I haven't been keeping up on the movie reviews though, so I can't say. I dislike the both of them, Marietta's a dumb snitch and Cho's a crybaby who needs to get over herself.

Cho is a weeping baby. I hate to be harsh but it is the truth. She was a good starter girlfriend for harry, but she is lacking huge amounts of personality and so it Marietta.

Marietta IS the snitch in the book, but because they wanted to keep from hiring more actresses and actors, they have changed certain things, such as turning Cho into the snitch. I don't like that! Cho is not a bad character! Emotional, yes, but what girl wouldn't be under her circumstances? I think Hermione hit the nail pretty much on the head when she tried to expain Cho to them. As far as Cho still being friends with Marietta after she turned in the DA, I think she (Cho) was definately angry, but perhaps she is more mature than we give credit for! Rather than condeming Marietta like most would, she let Marietta know how she felt about it, but they had been close friends for a long time, I think, and perhaps Cho at least understood what drove her friend to betray all of them and decided that their friendship was more important than Marietta making one terrible mistake. We don't find the books going into what Marietta felt afterwards, knowing what she had done and that she had caved into pressure like she did...but her friend probably knew and wouldn't desert her due to it, so Cho must have believed Marietta's remorse was real in order to forgive her friend like that. After all, Marietta could have gotten Cho expelled by turning them all in. Cho's forgiveness and understanding is a show of real deep and true friendship and I think it speaks volumes on Cho's character in my opinion!

I agree with tatewin. Cho really liked Cedric and she just suffered a huge loss...She would be a cry baby and all depressed and everything...anyone who was in the situation she was in would behave in a similar way. I like her...there is nothing wrong with showing your feelings in public. She felt like crying, so she did. You are being too harsh on her...

I didn't know about the Cho snitching on DA thing...well..WB always change things around...not that i mind. It's just that it makes Cho's character look evil...

I'm with a few of you guys. I've always really liked Cho. Suuuuuure, she's an emotional trainwreck, confusing and hard to read, teenage girl - but who isn't? LOL

And, I really,really don't think she'd do anything to betray Harry. She's got more heart than that. If I had to guess, she probably gave Marrietta an earful for what she did to the DA (and with good reason, chyeah). But, like we all do with our friends, we forgive.

I think that Cho *is* a bit nutty (what teenage girl isn't?!), but a good friend all in all.

When the movies come and portray her as the snitch though, haha.. she's really not going to be shown any love by Potter fans. No love for Cho. haha

Cho wasn´t the snitch, but if she had really cared about Harry and the D.A. she wouldn´t have stood beside Marietta. She betrayed Harry and the D.A. just as much as she would have done had she been the snitch.

If she really cared for her friend at all though, she would have. That's what friends are for -- they stick with you even when you make stupid mistakes. To Marietta, for all she really knew, it wasn't a mistake though.

Yeah, Marietta thought that what she was doing was right... It's sort of like politics. If a politician lies, and someone believes the lies, it's not really the person's fault. Especially in this case. In this case it was Marietta's own mother that told the lie, and she was fed the lie by someone else... I would blame her mother because she was old enough to know not to beleive everything she hears. Marietta was too little and inexperienced to really question what her mother told her.
And Cho just wanted to protect her best friend, I really don't blame her.

Well, I do. I think Cho should decide which comes first: One person's friendship, or a crowd of people who are depending on you? Priorities...PLEASE? She was being ridiculous! Staying with Marietta...sure, she defended Marietta, but...come on! If your friend betrayed you and all your friends...would You want to stay friends with them? Especially if it meant passing or failing one of your classes!

I totally agree with that, I never liked Cho, she played with Harry's mind to much... Is Cho really gonna betray the DA in the OOTP film? It was def Marietta in the books, but if she does it gives me more reason to not like her... *sheesh*

I think it was Cho's fault marietta betrayed the D.A.if Cho had not told her, the D.A wouldn't have finished.I think Cho is a cry-baby and marietta a dirty Snitch.

Well I personally don't like Cho that much. She is a cry-baby, too much emotional and just looks pretty, thats all! Well I think it is Cho's fault because why should she have persuaded Marietta to join DA at first place when she didn't want to. If Marietta had not joined she would have kept quite. So Cho was the starter of the problem according to me. And I don't mind Cho sticking up for Marietta, because it showed her loyalty to her friendship. But I hate Cho for letting her friend betray DA !

It doesn't surprise me that Cho betrayed the DA. She seemed one who never could make up her mind and was always a bit on the selfish side. I don't think she ever truly loved either Cedric or Harry, and was never committed to the DA. Obviously! She truly never knew what she wanted.
