If you guys have been good DA members, you might have read the recent
post in the Announcements thread. If you haven't, well go on and read it. Yes, now!
So, as the thread title indicates, this is the sign-up sheet for the upcoming DA vs DE battle. It'll be mostly like role-playing, so you can pick your own DA name. [You can either use your own name or create a made-up character] Also, it's just like Virtual Duelling. We've all played it before, haven't we?
If you need to refresh your memories, it goes something like:
1st person: *DA member* casts expelliarmus spell to a DE...
2nd person: a direct hit! *DA member* sends the jelly-legs jinx to the DE's. 3rd person: miss! *DE member* casts petrificus totalus to the DA.
It depends on who posts after you. If it's a fellow DA member, then of course they'd post that you hit the DE's. If not, you'll just have to be quick to post after the DE so that they'll miss also and you can send a spell back to the DE's.
Since we're still building up the other rules, we will inform you of which spells are allowed and which ones aren't. So, if you think you're interested, please feel free to post here and we'll add you to the list. [ALSO: please not that this event will take place in both forums, ours and
theirs so you must ask to join the DEFC to participate. Don't worry, it'll be fun. We promise!]

Rules for the Spell Battle Event: When you make a move in the Spell Battle you can only post your intention and not the result.
Examples of correct moves are:
1. “DA Member Neville Longbottom casts Wingardum leviosa…”
2. “Death Eater Lucius Malfoy casts Expelliarmus…”
3. “DA Member Cho Chang casts Densaugeo…”
A result is the outcome of a move.
The results of the move are determined by the next person to post.
Possible results for the examples of moves above are:
1. “…hits Death Eater who rises into the air.”
2. “…disarms closest DA member.”
3. “…Death Eater dodges.”
Just to include some, examples of incorrect moves are:
1.“DA Member casts Wingardium leviosa at Death Eater who flies into the air.”
2."Death Eater casts Expelliarmus, DA member's wand flys out of their hand.”
These kinds of moves predict the outcome and are not allowed.
*So if you’re posting a move, make sure you post your move without the result.* When posting results, you must put the effect of the spell as shown below in the Thread Example, if you do not, no points will be rewarded. Scoring/Points
Each successful cast (correct spell and results) by same FC: +5 points
Disarming opponent (same house): +16 points
Using Unforgivable curses* (with the exception of Imperius): -10 points
*This includes Sectumsempra
Please take note: you may use the Imperius Curse; however you may only make your opponent do something humorous like pick their nose or dance like a chicken. YOU MAY NOT do anything violent. Anyone who uses the Imperius Curse to do something violent will lose their FC 25 points and will no longer be allowed to play. Thread Example

Etc.
Doubling posting by the same person is not allowed. You can not post twice in a row. You must allow another site member to post before you post a second time.
