The mahogany door had been polished to a glassy smooth finish and golden letters announced the name of the occupant in simplistic grandeur:

Rex Altair Vindictus
Department Head
Magical Games and Sport

Behind the door, is a modern office that is both relaxing and environmentally friendly. On the far wall are massive window panes that currently displays a tropical beach with the waves lapping onto the white sand.

Please knock and wait before entering.

Rachel walked down the corridor on Level Seven, her eyes searching for the Department Head's office. She looked left and then right, and stoped right at a mahogany door. ` Rex Altair Vindictus' she read. ` Departmant Head Magical Games And Sports'. She knocked softly and waited.

Rex had his head stuck in the fireplace and was shouting some obscenities to an unknown person or persons. A very heated conversation, indeed, and it gave a whole new meaning to the phrase 'fireside chat'. When it was all over, it took him a few minutes to calm himself down. Conversations with his obnoxious brother Max always caused him to lose his temper.

Finally, he was calm, cool and collected as he sat behind his glass and steel-framed desk. "Please, come in," he called out and used his wand to unlock the door.

Rachel was waiting outside Rex Vindictus's office. She could hear someone shouting, which made her nervous. Finally, she heard, `Come in, please'. She went inside the office. It was a modern sort of office with huge window panes displaying a tropical beach. ` Rex Vindictus? My name is Rachel Rodriguez and I am new to the ministry. I wanted to thank you for choosing me for the job and it really means a lot to me. So, do I start today? I guess I'll have to go to the British and Irish Headquearters League?' She said.

Rex stood up as he shook the woman's hand. "Welcome, Ms. Rodriguez," he said warmly and sat back down. "Thank you for stopping by. You seem qualified for the task which is why you were selected from hundreds of applicants." He looked at something on his desk and then averted his eyes back to Rachel. "Your division head is currently waiting for you and I'm sure she already has an assignment waiting. Is there anything else you need before you start work?"

`Oh thank you sir. I'l be goin then.' Rachel told Mr. Vindictus. Then she smiled and hurried off to her office.

Belladora walked up to the door and tapped. She was very nervous for her first day of work. She waited patiently .

Rex watched as one employee left and heard another knock on his door. "Please come in," he called out and began to ponder the installation of a glass door.

Belladora walked in and said "Hello, I am Belladora. I was told to report here. I now work in this Department" she said trying to look confident.

"Welcome to the Ministry," Rex greeted the woman and glanced down at a list of his department employees. "You're in the Quidditch Division, if I'm not mistaken." He looked up at her and smiled. "Well, I'd hate to keep you waiting here when your division head probably has an assignment waiting for you. Is there anything you need to discuss before you start work?"

"Um yes...Do you by any chance know where last year's quittich information is. It's my first job to find it and I've looked in almost every forum on the website but still have come up with nothing" she said.

"It's not on that Muggle eclectic contraption," Rex said with a slight frown. "All of the schedules are supposed to be on file in the division. Have you checked all of the filing cabinets? Each team has its own cabinet and then there's the scheduling cabinet and." He stopped mid-sentence and raised an eyebrow at the woman. "Why are you asking me for information that I've requested from your division? Very odd."

Liam had been in his division sorting somethings out when he realised that he hadn't been to interduce himself to the new Department Head, he knocked on the door and hoped that the Department Head was in, he stood outside the door, trying to sort out his tie, well first impressions always count he thought to himself.

She didn't quite explain that well at first so Bella could see how he got confused "Oh I'm sorry we are going through the old files to make the new ones that you requested. And thank you for your help I will check again" she said and walked out determined to get the files her boss needed. She didn't want to do a bad job on her first assignment.

There was yet another knock on his door. Forget the glass-paned door. Perhaps I need a revolving glass door so I can watch them go around in circles for entertainment. "Come in!" he called out and looked at Belladora as she turned to leave his office. "I'm sure the schedules are lying around somewhere in your department. Have you looked under the pile of memos shaped like paper airplanes?" he called out as she left.

Liam walked into the room after finally sorted out his tie, he wanted to make the right impression. "Hello, I'm Liam Moiser." He smiled as he spoke and hoped that the Department Head wouldn't mind him being there, he just wanted to get to know the new boss.

Jude's traveling cloak whipped behind him as he shuffled into the waiting room for his department head. In one hand he carried a brown briefcase that held important documents of his resignation from the Magical Games and Sports Gobstone division. He felt he needed to travel again and with his nephew out of Hogwarts and into the real world he was able to do that once again.

He knocked on the modern door which adored large golden letters and waited to be called.

A snowy white owl suddenly flies into the room, heading for the Department Head's desk and dropping off the following message -

Rex didn't have time to call the next few into his office - he was reading the memo that was deposited on his desk and found himself standing in the doorway. He looked up at the two men who were outside his office. "Ah, gentlemen. How can I assist you?" he asked rather casually and still had the memo in his hand.

"Why yes," Jude said, as he looked up to Rex Vindictus. "My business is fairly simple. I'm merely turning in my letter of resignation. I'm going to take up my travels again back in South America."

He shifted through the gobstones in his briefcase and took out the neat sheet of paper with his distinctive signature. He held it out to Vindictus.

Rex took the paper from the man and read it over very quickly. "Very well, Mr. Thomas," he replied after a few minutes and extended his hand to the man. "I wish you luck on your travels."

Jude nodded with a little salute and turn on his heel to leave Vindictus's office.

Rex was slightly surprised that the man didn't shake his hand but simply saluted and turned his back. But he was the kind of man who never forgot anything.

And the other man was witness to the exchange. "Mr. Moiser - if I'm not mistaken, you're currently the leader of the Gobstone's Division. Walk with me to your division and we can chat about the upcoming event."

"Yes, I'm Mr. Moiser." He looked at his new boss and held out his hand for the man to shake. "Okay." He smiled as he looked at his boss. "How are you settling in, sir?"

Following the head of the Magical Games and Sports department into his office, Colin quickly looked over his shoulder to see what that woman he was talking to just moments ago was going to do. Although Rex had just been whispering something to her, Colin ‘Hot Scot’ MacKenzie could tell that it was something that, most likely, involved him in some way. It probably had to do with the lack of posters of him hanging around the room of the British and Irish Quidditch League headquarters smiling his brilliant smile containing straight, white teeth at them all as they worked. What else could it be?

“Ahh, this is much better,” MacKenzie said to himself, when he stepped inside Rex’s office. Already helping himself to a seat in front of his desk, the Keeper for the Montrose Magpies looked off at the far wall at the massive window panes that displayed a tropical beach – now that was some real magic! “Now why can’t the rest of the rooms on this floor look like that? You have some serious decorating to do, Rexxie. I mean, not even the locker rooms for the Magpies look bland at all when compared to the other room that I was just in over there.”

Kicking up his feet and setting them gently on the edge of Vindictus’s desk, a piece of parchment fell out of his robes and onto the floor. Not even noticing that his complaint list had fallen out of his robe pocket, the famous Quidditch player simply sighed and placed his hands behind his head, closing his eyes. He’d definitely have to inform the team manager to spice up the Montrose Magpies’ locker room the next time they saw each other for sure.
