Hufflepuff does seem fitting, but do have to go to Hogwarts to be a teacher there? Just throwing that out there...
Yeah. Hufflepuff seems the more appropriate house, due to the fact that she's got pretty much qualities from each house. How does she have qualities from the Slytherin house? I don't see it... Could just be me though, of course. |

I like to think that Trelanwy was like herself now. She might not have predicted someone's death every year, but she probably did her 'predictions' and maybe a few real predictions.

I think that she was alot like herself now, actually. She probably did make predictions but they might've been diffrent from the ones she makes now. Maybe things like, 'You will live to see the world as you always wished you could.' Happier things like that.

Hmmm, this is a difficult question! I too, would have to say that Trelawney was in Hufflepuff. Hufflepuff is known for it's loyalty. It seems to me that loyalty means a lot to Sibyll... just look how long she's taught at Hogwarts. You have to be loyal to teach for nearly 20 years at the same school. Hogwarts obviously means a lot to her! Just look how upset she was when she was almost sacked. She brought up the notion of how she should be rewarded for her loyalty and years of work there, that it should mean something.
Another quality of Hufflepuffs are patience... and some may argue whether or not Sibyll is patient but the truth is to have a profession in divinations you really do have to be patient. You can't just close your eyes and be in the beyond... you need to settle yourself in and let the slowly drift into the beyond. Trelawney must have tons of patience to sit and read tea leaves, gaze into crystal balls and read palms and other such activities.
I could mention the term "duffers" that is used in the book for Huffies... and I could probably Trelawney would fit into that, too. But I don't think that would be very nice! | |

Well ... I joined this FC like a week ago ... and me being lazy too my time to post in here. Anyway, my name is Caitlin and I love Sibyll like woah!  I think she is amazingly unique, and she adds a lot to the novels ... also ... my aunt is going to dress up like her when we go to the DH opening. It's gonna be so funny!
Hokay, well to join in on the discussion: I can't see Trelawney in any of the houses, to be quite honest. I don't know why, but I see her moreso being one of those students that were home-schooled. I mean, that has to happen in the wizarding world too, right? I just see her sort of being sheltered growing up ... yet still rebelious, but not in a "public" school. | |
