This is a bit unorthodox but, this thread is dedicated to role playing random "What if?" scenarios with various canon and non-canon (established made-up) characters. This idea grew out of Erin and Kris' boredom one night when they found themselves unable to post in any of their 3-4 established Role Plays. The intended purpose is not to gather people but, rather, to play at the spur of the moment. I'd almost like to think of these rather like the EEFFDs where we challenge ourselves to RP a random scene in a matter of a night or so. Perhaps we'll come up with something we'd like to explore further in another RP but, for now...

Welcome to the random scenes from our imaginations.

Okay, first scene... drawn randomly from various poking in books... Black and Lupin. In the Ministry. We've decided on their age being just out of Hogwarts. Did anyone else really want me to say "With the candlestick?" *shakes it off* I start...



Remus Lupin shifted back and forth as he waited for the man to read the print out from his wand. He'd been waiting a long time, but that was as much because his nametag said "Werewolf" just below his name as it was because the Wizard was incompetent. Finally, the wizard handed the wand back tentatively, snatching his hand away as if he thought Remus would bite him if given the chance. "Bloody Fantastic," he growled to himself, swishing down the long hall, a foul mood in place.

Black twirled his wand between his fingers while leaning against the wall, bored out of his mind while waiting for Remus to get through security. He yawned and pocketed his wand just as Remus finally finished. "You know, Remus, you'd think you were some sort of vicious creature or something the way they give you the special treatment. A measley dog could get jealous," he joked.

"I should have bit him," Remus shrugged and moved down the hallway faster than his usual loping pace. "At least then he would have had reason to be so afraid of me. Honestly, are my claws showing? Fangs out? Full moon anywhere in sight?" He heaved a great sigh and held open a door for his friend. "Easy enough for you to find it funny."

McGonagall made her way down the hallway and saw two of the four friends that were inseperable. She picked up her pace she she could catch up to them... "If it isn't mr. Black and Remus, do I want to know why you are here? Trouble torturing people? Or something maybe... productive?" she pasued... "Does that word even exist in your vocabulary?" she asked smirking with some laughter behind her eyes.

"You need to learn how to lighten up. I thought maybe without all that schoolwork, you'd let yourself go a little," Sirius sighed. "But, nope... still stiff and upper lip Remus."

Sirius smiled as Professor McGonagall walked up to them. "We're always doing something productive, Professor," he smirked, resisting the urge to give her a big bear hug. "We're here looking for work. Heard they could use a couple of brave, hardworking, men from your noble house."

"Yes, and after they realize they've run through all the brave and hard-working men, we're hoping they'll settle for a spoiled puppy and a run-down wolf," Remus shrugged and elbowed Sirius in the stomach. He grinned at McGonagall and a light of wry humor shone from his hazel eyes. "And for EVERYONE'S information, I have plenty of humor left. I'm just a bit tired of this whole process."

"Try, trouble, mr. Black, productive, perhaps in your view, but for others I must say trouble, though now that your out of Hogwarts I have no guilt in saying this, that some of your pranks were rather amusing." a smile broke her normal strict smile as she looked from one to the other."

"Hard workers from the house of Gryffindor, yes you are hardworkers, but only when you really want to complete something, so I recommend getting a job in the 'trouble makers' department, I am sure they will hire you there"... she pasued for a second she loved teasing Black and Lupin, mainly because they didn't take anything seriously... "Yes, yes, Remus, of course you have humor, it could never run out when you have a whole power house of it standing next to you."

"They have a troublemakers' department?" Sirius asked, stroking his chin and looking over at Remus. "Hmm... I didn't know about that. Might be worth checking into. But then, what would we do with those NEWT results we got?"

He laughed and poked Remus in the shoulder. "Although, Remus hasn't told me how well he's done, yet. James and I seemed to have pulled through so I suspect you got darn near perfect. Am I right?"

"Ah, yes the trouble maker department, is looking for two guys" she said giving a small eye roll, which she did try to restrain. "I am very glad to hear you and James passed the NEWTS, and I would be shocked if Lupin didn't get near perfect, if not perfect." she said smiling, being a professor and being head of house of Gryffindor she already knew how they did, but it was fun to play along, and let them give out the information they wanted to give out. "With passing NEWT scores, you both will probably be able to get into something here at the ministry, I can only assume that you will be working along side each other?"

Remus's face remained expressionless, although his eyes twinkled. "You know very well that if you and Prongs spent even a fraction as much time studying as I did, you'd have gotten every NEWT possible, as well as a few spare ones for Wormtail and I to pick up." His expression darkened for a moment... they'd not seen Peter for a while. Clearing his face with practiced ease, he responded to the professor. "I don't know if I can work alongside this git. He always used to copy my homework you know." He winked at the Professor to let her know he was kidding.

"Aw... but, who could spend all their time in books with all the lovely young ladies at Hogwarts, or... Snivellus to torture... I mean..." Sirius looked up at McGonagal and decided not to pursue that line of thought anymore. "Well, we can't stand around here chatting all day, as much as I'd like to with one of Hogwarts' lovely young ladies and all..."

"Yes, trust me if Black copied soley off your work, he would have achieved a higher grade" she said winking "I am joking, you actually did really well in my class your last term at Hogwarts, almost as if you decided it was time to actually open the book." She pasued as something sunk in... "Where is Peter? I haven't seen or heard anything about him for awhile, maybe i'll stop by Albus's to ask. But thats a whole different story..."

McGonagall ignored his Severus comment, she wasen't all that fond if him, though she had no reason to dislike him, except that he was Slytherins head of house. "Well it was nice chatting..." she gave a small nod and turned in the other direction...

"He's probably helping Potter and Lil plan the wedding," Remus shrugged, not for the first time thinking how nice it would be to have inherited wealth like Prongs and Padfoot. Prongs didn't even have to look for a job now... he'd probably settle into something highly noble and notable after he got married, but Remus didn't have that option. And being on the outs with his family meant that Sirius didn't either.

"See you around, Professor. If you hear of any openings for troublemakers, let us know." He watched the professor leave and turned to gesture to Sirius. "I hear there's a janitor job open," he grinned as they headed for the lift. "I think you'd be really handy with a broom."

She sat crossed legged, tongue stinking out. Her hands were blackened by the polish and dorkishly, she scratched her nose and it too blackened. "Stupid Nymphadora..." she sighed, giggling and shinning cauldrons still, sat in the dank dark dungeons, sneezing at short intervals. "Bloody Potions Master...I`ll show him...I`ll be an auror one day and..."

"Uh-oh..." she growled, tugging at her hand which she'd gotten stuck in a cauldron. "So much for the smarts..."

Pulling her hand out slightly too quickly, she smacked herself in the face. "Omph." Scrunching up her nose, she wiped her hands against her already filthy Hufflepuff robes, completely poisoning the yellow of her badge. "The house elves will be pleased..." she muttered wickedly as the sneezing continued. It was short wonder the Potions Master hadn't come in blaming her for her annoyingly loud bodily functions.

Snape walked into the classroom and wasn't surprised to see that Tonks was still struggling with how to polish caulrons. One would think that by the third detention where she was required to polish cauldrons, she's manage to get more on the cauldrons than her robes and body. "Is it going to take all night once again, Miss Tonks?" he sneered walking up to the desk and standing over her. "Perhaps one day you'll finally discover some common sense, though I do not presume to hold my breath waiting for that particular day to come."

"You've got a valid point but neither would I presume to hold my breath waiting for the day when you decide that being nice to someone who seems to be struggling with your ridiculously hard class, might be a good idea..." she grumbled, throwing one of the soaken through rags across the room, secrelty aiming for his desk but missing by yards.

"It's not my fauly I'm not as adept to muggle chores as you..." she sneered, spitting on the cauldrons as she polished them as big blogs of polish threatened to conceal the original colour of the metals.

"If you paid more attention to what you were doing in my class you would not be struggling in the first place. You have the potential if only you would use your head. But, apparently you cannot even use what brains you have to polish a few cauldrons the muggle way," he said, realizing that he was now arguing with a student. "Why don't you finish that last one and go back to your common room, you can finish the rest another time," he said, indicating a pile in the corner.

"Oh yes because it's really a much better use of my time, scrubbing cauldrons which you've fouled as opposed to trying to understand the work in your class. No wonder I'm so behind when you keep my here at all hours doing your dirty work. What the ministry would make of this, I'd never know. I'm being treated like a common house elf!"

"House elves are allowed to use magic," he smirked. "And it isn't the concepts you struggle with, it is the concentration required. Perhaps if you tended your potions with the same enthusiasm you have for bumping into inanimate objects, you'd be more than an adequate potion brewer."

"Are you saying I'm inferior to a house elf?" she asked, standing, throwing her rag to the floor, her fists twitching, at a loss of what to do. "How dare you! I'm just as pure blooded as yourself! It's not like I trip over things on purpose. I do try to concentrate but it's pretty hard to have any enthusiasm when you suck the happiness out of any room you walk into. No-one could ever be an adequate enough brewer for you, because you're too arrogant to even begin to ponder that someone might just be better than you at something. Sirius was right, you are annoying..."

Snape swept over to his desk and sat down. "That will be all Miss Tonks," he replied, waving his wand to finish cleaning the cauldron and place it back on the shelf. "I look forward to seeing you again every night next week. Oh, and that will be twenty points from hufflepuff, as well," he sneered.

She shook her head in exasperation but felt glad she was given the opporunity to leave. Under her breath, she muttered, "Who cares about house points anyways these days. No sense in it when we all know bias controls the count and not us. Night sir." she smiled, sarcastically, before shutting the door behind her, her face becoming stuff where the polish had started to set.

Tap, tap, tap ... it didn't help. She could tap her heel against her desk all she liked, the words still wouldn't make sense to her. What on earth Skeeter thought she had been playing at, she'd never know. Now the Daily Prophet was in a mess, its reputation ruined all because of one poisonous woman and an arrogant minister.

Unable to come up with an apology to the readers, she sucked on her sugar quill, her eyes dancing over the various flower framed photos before her. The Weasley's, the Lovegoods, the Potters and the Longbottoms. Lovely people, lovely families. Pity, I cant have one, thought Emmaline as she once again tapped her heel against the table leg. She'd have much preferred to be at the Order base right now, but the day job called, to no avail. She just simply could not find the words to express the rage she felt.
