Crystal was heading down the train corridor after her delightful conversation with Brennan. On her way she noticed Doyle and a bunch of other students in a compartment. Sticking her head in she smiled, "Well done Branxy. I'm ever so impressed!" she said with a cute smile.

Clara had to smile at all the drama surrounding the head boy, her quill going ninety to nothing. Flavia sure didn't seem pleased. That, or she perhaps had had something not settling for breakfast. With the crowd moving on, her work was temporarily done. She tucked her quill into the strap of her purse and went looking for a compartment with someone she knew, or could write about, in it. What she found was Crystal flirting with the Head Boy.

"Crystal darling, didn't I say no trouble? Flirting with Doyle is like flirting with a professor now." Clara liked that thought and took a moment to write it down. "Come along. We have things to discuss." Clara slipped her quill back into place and held a hand out for Crystal.

Clara came up behind Crystal and interupted her fun with Doyle and noted it down. "Oh. You cheeky lil Horklump!" She giggled and pinched Clara's cheeks grabbing her volunteered hand straight after." So where are we gossiping and what about?" Crystal said excited.

"Nothing in particular," Clara replied quietly. She'd put her notebook away as they traveled down the crowded corridor. It'd been stolen from her on more than one occassion and she simply wasn't in the mood to hex people that tried today. "Just wondering if you were going after the Head Boy? Have you always had a crush on him? Or is it who new position that does it for you?" Clara laughed, though she wanted the truth.

Crystal stopped Clara outside a small, but empty compartment and sat her down, "I do not have a crush on Branxy! Although the fact that he does have the Head Boy position is quite tempting," she said winking at her friend. "What about you though, missy? You and it (she indentified Brennan as) were quite close when I ran into you both. Don't know what you see in him, he's a little twirp," Crystal scoffed in disgust.

"He was wanting to make out with me. Poor dear, always after me." Clara winked. "I find Cooper outrageously interesting and really nothing more. And, I do not flirt." Truth.

"But you and the Head Boy. Now that is a smart match. You're cute and bubbly. He's anal and troubled by loneliness. Not to mention... who wouldn't want to be on the good side of the boy in charge? Do you know what I mean when I say good?" Again, Clara winked.

Crystal cackled, "Clara! You're so bad! Branxy is kind of cute. But i'm way to loud for the poor boy, he just wouldnt be able to keep up with me" She said flicking one of her pigtails behind her. "I'm glad to hear about you and Coop. If you did like him... lets just say I would have to Avada Kedavra you on the spot," this time it was her turn to wink.

Clara sighed. She'd have to find some other way to come close, but not too close, to the Head Boy. He'd know any and all of what went on at school and that's exactly what Clara needed. "I've no time, like you, for boys and relationships. I do think perhaps that," Clara paused to get her notebook out, "you could give Branxton some more attention. For the good of us all. We're all counting on you."

"Oh gee thanks Clara no pressure, and if you don't mind my asking, how on Earth is me getting comfy close to the Head Boy for the better of us all?" Crystal questioned, not always sure how Clara's mind worked. "I don't even know how to get close to him. He's forever surrounded by others," Crystal said logically.

"Do you think Doyle would be easier or harder on his girlfriends best friend? Not to mention all your other friends. You are very popular, you know. It's just a wee bit of insurance, that's all." Clara clapped her hands together and smiled. "You just think that over in that pretty little head of yours. But for now, tell me, what happend this summer? I recall seeing your last name in the paper."

Crystal grinned at her friend, she was so lovingly childish at times. Although she couldn't deny the fact that most of Hogwart's population did know her. "Well this summer wasn't all that interesting to be perfectly honest with you. My name was in the paper because I was the youngest ever Healer to have worked in St. Mungo's. I only got a summer job there thanks to my Mum and her high connections in that place. She had to wait till I was of age, of course," Crystal smiled, "How about you?"

"Quite an accomplishment. If you like touching people in that way." Clara cleared her throat and made a scribble in her notebook about Crystal's article. "Out of curiosity," Clara said, changing the subject away from herself," do you know if we have a Head Girl, this year?"

"There is probably one lurking about somewhere, I don't think we've ever not had a Head Boy AND girl. I guess the silly billy just doesn't know who she is. Or for once I am not up to date with gossip... No it definitely has to be the person doesn't realise yet," Crystal giggled

"Perhaps it's Nora," Clara said with a wicked grin. That girl was always an interesting write. Perhaps more motivated than even Clara. Clara set back in the seat to get comfortable and looked over to Crystal. "This is going to be a great year. I can already tell. Drama before reaching the first turn to Hogwarts."

"You are such a geek, but you're my geek," Crystal said laughing. "Hm, Nora? That could be interesting actually. But we want to hear more about me. Put this in your next article... Crystal is single and very much available," she began giggling. "I think i'm going to find you a man Clara, teach you how to get more out there," she said rubbing her friends arm, "Promise."

Asher wasn't surprised at all by the news that Doyle had got Head Boy. Inwardly he shrugged, it was never his ambition though his grades were certainly good enough. No wonder he was not sorted into Slytherin. He could tell it meant something to his friend though, but since they were not alone he knew that openly talking about it was not the best approach. "Zitzburg," he laughed, addressing his friend's first comment, "I bet my parents would love that."

"Branxton can have Head Boy, in my opinion, grades or whatever it takes," Ash replied. "The way I see it, Head Boys aren't supposed to be likeable all the time and we've got the better deal being on his good side," Asher tried to appeal to Coop's sense of manipulation, "all the benefits, with none of the responsibilty when your friend is in charge," he raised his eyebrows. "Who needs the all that trouble?"

Clara rolled her eyes. "That'll be the day. You passing over a guy to give to another?" Clara laughed out loud and stood. "I"m going to get a pumpkin pastry. Care to come? Oh good." Clara was out of the compartment and down the hall before poor Crystal could answer. Lorcán was just ahead. Clara lowered her glasses to get a good look at him as she passed. "Good to see you, Lorcán," she greeted. "The summer treat you well? Excellent." And she walked on.

She could hear Coop and company up ahead. His voice always carried. Clara stuck her head inside. "Has the dear old pasty lady been by here yet?" Clara inquired.

Doyle felt like he did nothing but sigh as Walt went on another one of his tirades, though at least he was facing off with Antiganus, more or less. "Go write him up," he muttered to her after Walt left, then turned back to his friends. "I have to go to the head of the train and tend to some business. I'll be back later."

He exitted the compartment and headed up toward the front of the train where the prefects held their little meeting prior to the start of term. As head boy, Doyle was in charge of the group, along with the head girl, whoever she was.

ooc: Do we even have someone playing the head girl?

Ash was right. He was pretty much always right, and that was Brennan needed him. They both knew it. He nodded in agreement even as the door was thrust open. "Belle... can't stay away, can you? I'm sure the trolley will be by in a moment, and you can wait with us."

"Only because I know you can't stand to be without me," Clara sighed. "Ash and Kailee," Clara said with new found interest. "Should have expected you both to be here. I suppose Coop has told you all about Doyle beating Coop to the highest position any student can reach?" Clara tilted her head to grin at Coop and she took a seat beside him. "How do you feel about this?" a question to the two, her notebook out and ready.

Kailee stuck her tongue out at Ash and chuckled and nodded to Clara. "Haha you're asking Bren how he feels about Branxton beating him? Do you have the entire train ride? Because it just might take him that long to rant about it." She said patting Brens knee.

Ash stuck his tongue back at Kailee, but tried to catch her eye as if to say, "why are you messing with him?" Asher could feel the tension from his friend without even looking at him.

Brennan let out a long breath. How could Kailee out him like that in front of the biggest snoop in school? So far he'd made a point of not acting as if the whole Head Boy thing bothered him, saying nothing to Belle that would give her any reason to believe he cared. He smiled and put his arm along the seat behind Belle. "Kay is exaggerating. I'm obviously disappointed that I'm not Head Boy this year, but Doyle is a pal of mine. He's much more suited to tedious paperwork and the unpleasent job of placating the masses. But you're friends with Doyle too, aren't you? What do you think Kay's chances are with him? She thinks he's quite... what did she say? Quite the catch."

Clara took her glasses and pushed them on top of her head. She could see close up anyway. "Her? Kailee? Her chances with the Head Boy?" The quill instinctively went to her mouth. "Well, she's cute enough. But, I just saw Crystal and Doyle together. Now that's a smart match, if I may say. No offense, love, but you're a bit ordinary for his tastes. Besides, everyone would know you're just using him to get what you want in the school." Clara put her glasses back on and pinched Coop's cheek. "Do I know you well?" Seven years of living togehter and recording every moment. She knew them all quite well.
